Is there a way to get rid of that age prompt on every M-rated game? I'm so sick of that thing. I'm old enough to be paying with a credit card, why am I treated like I'm thirteen?

I want to give a huge, public thank you to pock3tmonster for gifting me Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus. Thanks a lot! :)

Oh, what should I vote for in the Community Choice, GAF?

Just a reminder that I still have two Dota 2 invites that are in need of a good home. Quote if you'd like one.

Thief. It and Thief 2 are two of the finest stealth games ever made.

still looking to see if anyone can buy the Dota invite for me and gift me the items and I'll paypal you the cost?

Any Gaffer helpers out there?

The problem is you can only by it if you're not in the beta and I want the cheap items.

Or I can buy it as a gift and then you send me the items back.

I anyone here hasn't gotten the book of Unwritten Tales they really should break down and get it. The humor is great and the amount of inside jokes is insane. Im 6 hours in and not even through with chapter 2 and its not like I'm getting stumped very often.

So far the amount of references and jokes Ive seen have included:
  • multiple Indiana Jones references
  • Magic the Gathering
  • WoW addicts
  • server operators (its too good to spoil but the amount of jokes they make on this are awesome)
  • Discworld
  • Monkey Island
  • and several more that are too out there to spoil.

Besides inside jokes the normal humor is pretty loaded too. Its pretty much a point and click adventure comedy for everything geeky and a lot of general ribbing at fantasy in general. Very good voice acting really makes the characters come alive as well and the graphics are pretty decent for a point and click. Seriously, if you are wondering why it costs more than a buck its because it is WORTH IT. Apparently this game has an estimated 22hours worth of gameplay. Considering I only averaged 2.5 hours or so to beat any given Sam and Max title thats pretty awesome.

Buy it folks. If you do nothing else during the sale buy it. $9.99 on sale. It has a pre-quel in Critter Chronicles to get as well thats $14.99 if you really want to dive into this world. Critter is awesome BTW. He looks like the Sesame Street Aliens that like computers and he gets penguins drunk.

Book of Unwritten Tales Gameplay Trailer loaded with comedy

Voted for Thief gold because freedom force is terrible and PoP 2008 is a classic example of graphics over gameplay. It's the dumbest and easiest "game" I've ever played.

I am picking of Chivalry for myself and a friend so I'm grabbing the 4-pack.

Anyone want in on the other 2 slots?

I got rid of my Dota 2 invites months ago. Even got Mass Effect 2 on Origin in a trade for one.
Is it the more you play Dota 2, the more invites you get?

Done, though I won't get them. I'm afraid them may feel too dated to me.

That said, I'd like to get the Freedom Force games, I recall liking the demo of the first game back then. Do they work fine on Windows 7 x86?

Sod it bought the dota pack myself as a gift, I'll have to find someone to gift it to who will give me the items back in a few hours when I get back in.

Were any of the Borderlands 2 DLC discounted when the maingame was a daily deal?

The season pass was discounted 25% one of the times it was a deal, but not the others. But like Kuro said, gmg was the place to get them this sale, you could get the pass and Mechromancer for about $13 total that day.

Think Dishonored, but more refined, and with a greather emphasis on stealth. The games have aged rather well, really.

Edit: They require more finesse, but not at the expense of intuitive controls.

It's the same price as the US, but I'm visiting my home in California, so US prices for me.

So the 4-pack is $37.49 (US 4-pack), which makes each slot $9.38 (US slot) instead of $12.49 (US game).

And without the transaction fee, it makes it to 7.12€ (US slot) instead of the cheapest european price 8.75€ (FR slot).

Graphically it will look pretty rough but the gameplay is still better than 99% of stealth games. If anything you'll play it and wonder why nothing new can come close to it.

Let's go back in time before we hit 2013! Does everyone remember in June when you could get $10 for your DOTA invites that now flood the system so horribly? Remember when S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernolbyl had no Steam key? Do you all remember when Diablo 3 was supposed to be the "best game ever!" and turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments ever? What will 2013 bring? Halo 5.1 Surround? GTA 3DS: Vending Machine Wars? Super Meat Man (edit: this sounds like porn)?

Haven't played Dishonored either, I'm waiting for a price drop. Guess it won't hurt to try them... well, it will hurt my wallet, but not me personally.

Fuck you wallet, you going to get destroyed and there's nothing you can do about it! Though I really shouldn't.

I was just trying to offer a contemporary point of comparison, but all you really need to know is that Thief and Thief 2 are superb games that hold up even to this day. Buy them, even if you have to do so come the last day without a deeper discount.

Cool. How much are the fees? $1.50 or so?

Where's your Based Gabe now?

you're paying for the cosmetics, don't be silly

Please explain this DOTA 2 stuff to me.

Does everyone have multiple copies of the game, for free? Or is it just a beta test?
It's still in Beta. Once you've been in the beta for a while, though, they send you some invites you can give to other people. That's where the multiple copies come from.

If you don't want to find somebody with a giftable copy, you can also just give Valve money, and they give you access to the game and also some cosmetic items that are normally sold in the in-game store.

The regular, free invites don't come with the cosmetic items.
