Well the European version for vita is on Amazon US now, I think. Not sure if that's a good price though.

Semi-tempted to order from here. Is is likely the Vita release is going to be $39.99 when it actually releases in NA?

I might just wait anyway. I wont have much time to play it this month anyway. I guess the real question is how long after SCEA approves it will it take to produce the retail version (assuming there is one) for stores.

I've just picked this up and gone through the prologue, but it's all a little confusing and incomprehensible. I was waiting for it to cut away and explain or give some backstory, but it never did and I felt like I was missing something.

The whole thing isn't like this, is it? I don't have the patience right now for something that'll only make sense *later*.

It's a very slow burn. I had the same feelings but keep going. Once it goes it GOES. Everything they talk about isn't fluff. Take breaks.

Fuck it! Bought from Amazon US. I can't quit you Prime shipping.

I already watched the Anime long ago, but I'm excited to see all the other endings now. For those who've beaten the game and seen the anime, a question:

Is the ending of the anime the "True" end of the VN? One of the routes? Or a compilation/new ending?

The anime's ending is the VN's true ending.

was this error in the PC version?
how can i set my wallpaper as a ringtone

Having used the cheap-ass basic cell phones from Softbank I'm not at all fazed by this mistake as they were pretty terrible when used in English setting anyway and almost looked exactly like the one in the game. It feels more authentic to me, including the text falling off the end of one line onto the next

I kinda assumed they'd have the word wrapping implemented properly when the PC version's translators explained in blogs how they got everything to work properly and the tricks they used. I thought that knowledge would have been reused in the console release.

So I'm only on Chapter 1 still (These are long chapters!) but man the science talk in this game is so over my head most of the time. This won't detract too much from the story will it? Because reading the explanations of some time travel theories and quantum teleportation etc just do my head in.
Not really. You'll have to gain a a bit of understanding about divergence and world lines but that's pretty easy to wrap your head around.

I just started it, I am currently on the second chapter.

+ The music is cool
+ The character design is waaaay better than Chaos;Head
+ The voices aren't as annoying as C;H
+ I like how it implemented the cellphone mechanic in the VN

I have some trouble getting used to the main character. His delusions are quite...something.

I went in blind, and I am quite happy that all this wikipedia-binging on time travel theories on my free time is paying off.
Sending info to the past and changing the present is quite interesting indeed. I can't wait to see how the story will unfold

For the purposes of the game, assuming you're curious as to from where it draws it's model of quantum mechanics, all you really need to read is:

Just a question. I noticed there's a trophy which you can get by "not opening mail and deleting it"...but how on earth do I go about deleting the mail? I'm currently at chapter 3 or unless there's some function I haven't unlocked yet...

I'm pretty sure all you have to do is not read a message. I don't know why it mentions deleting it. I think messages automatically disappear after certain points, so maybe it means that?

Zavvi sent me the "special order" mail so I guess I'll wait until tomorrow to see if I can buy it from somewhere else. I was planning on buying it from Shopto but it's out of stock now.

I think its just PQube's doing. This entire release is lacking of supply. I'm sure that if they were NA based, EU side would be waiting for a release date instead.

The text not wrapping correctly is a bit annoying. I'm reading around it, just it is a bit of an eye sore.

Not really sure what I'm doing except reading. I just got to chapter 2 so I thought I'll take a smallish break. Apart from learning and relearning some physics stuff at about 2am (that was a bit of a brick wall) I'm enjoying what I've read. Though I'm still expecting it to pick up later. From my limited experience of VNs, that is.
Danganronpa, Ace Attorney, Katawa Shoujo. I mean it is very limited...

Yea your VN experiences and mine are about the same. Still, that's pretty much all you need. The rest seems to be porn anyway...

This game is really dragging for me. Just made it to chapter 2 and absolutely nothing interesting has happened since the prologue. Lots of incredibly long character introductions that make it feel more and more like a typical harem game. I was definitely hoping for more of a VLR feel. Still to early to judge it I know but so far I'm definitely disappointed.

Well, it certainly isn't a harem game, so you have that to look forward to, I guess.

That's encouraging. I'm really hoping the sci fi element kicks in soon. The main character playing make-believe like a five year old seems like it's here to stay though. Maybe it'll become...endearing?

Okabe's antics can be a bit much at first, but it will all be worth it in the end. He has a great arc.

During the second and third chapter the Sci Fi and plot kick off. It's a bit of a slow start, but once it gets going...

Anyway, still no answer about whether you can change your reply choice before sending it?

How do long character intros make it a harem game?

When they consist of
ditzy girl, super intelligent girl, underage wacky cosplaying maid cafe girl, beautiful tech girl, mysterious older woman and beautiful boy who looks like a girl.
I have to admit that the
but it's a boy
moment did actually make me laugh out loud in spite of my overly-moe female character concerns.

My favourite moment so far came right at the start when
Kurisu said she'd just met us and we seemed upset, even though we were somewhere else.
I'm hoping for more tense moments like these. I guess I'm just impatient.

Are the wrapping issues on both the PS3 and Vita version or just the Vita? I've just seen Vita res screens so far.
Also looking at blick's blog they reused some translated image assets from the PC version without remaking them for the proper resoltuion.

Also blog post from the PC release as to what they did to solve the wrapping and fitting text into the game proper. http://a.lemnis.ca/2013/07/technical-changes.html

If the text wrapping issues are just in the emails, that's fine with me. I'm just glad I'll be able to play it without that god awful diagonal tear through the whole screen. You can see it in the first image in your link.

Apparently an issue with AMD video card drivers or something, couldn't ever find a way to fix it.

Chapter 3. Everyone look and act stupid ._.

I hope it'll get more interesting after that.

The whole micro wave experimentation was pretty cool though.

So I guess they look fine on Vita (since they're downscaled) and horrible on PS3 (near 2x upscale)? Examples?

Well so far Blick pointed out that this one is straight from the PC release:
HgRKRH4.jpg

This one is pretty early on so it's probably the most immediately noticeable.

Continuing Chapter 3

I get the feeling that all the weirdnes (Okabe's antics, Suzuha's attitude, etc) could be explained by him being a time traveler and having side effects of it.

That text wrapping is pretty disappointing. Seems pretty lazy honestly. Not like they can miss it, and how hard can it be for a game that is primarily just text and pictures?

I'm guessing this is why it's taking so long for SCEA to give the thumbs up. Also it's the programmers at MAGES doing it on their own this time so a hacker like Nagato who implemented it in the official PC release has no input.

Do you think they might actually have to fix it for the NA release? That would give me a little bit of import regret, heh. Unless they also release a patch for the EU version or something.

Well I imagine SCEA is slightly more strict about things going off SCEE's track record. If they fix it I don't imagine they'll just leave the EU version unpatched, but I'll probably buy a NA release just to have the game in a good readable format without needing a patch.
