I cant decide I want to play this in English or Korean.

The English voice isn't great but I feel like its gonna be one of those game where character will talk in middle of gameplay and combat here intense enough I dont think I can read subtitle while fighting.

I wonder what Resera thinks of these videos where it is shown that there are actually women who like Eve and her sensuality.

No those *barf* cis white women don't have a valid opinion any more than cis white men do now.

White trans "woman" are running the circus now and since they were auto rejected in the past by beautiful women because the majority looked like Jim Stering, means that women's opinions are invalid. They were trashing even trans peoples over there for finding the cyberpunk 2077 poster with a big cock to be sexy. It can't be allowed! But fucking hell, some trans peoples are actually doing porn and onlyfans, it's just that their opinion is thrown in the trash bin as it's not the collective's approved opinion (i.e. a bunch of losers in discord). Then some dude complained openly that the trans character they could make in cyberpunk 2077 is a dishonor for the vagina option. What??? Why you say? BECAUSE HE WOULD HAVE LOVED TO CUSTOMIZE THE PUSSY PUFFINESS AND DEPTH. That was not banned, that was fucking acclaimed. I bet that never even crossed your fucking mind for EVE in Stellar Blade, but you're automatically misogynistic anyway! You're the fucked up one to buy a game with a sexy existing and modeled after body of a chick.

They're INSANE.

Bayonetta? That's fine

They appropriated her for some fucking obscure reason lol. As if those peoples exude confidence, in tune with their sexuality and body (lol why you trans then bruh)

You know you’ll be playing through more than once. Do a first run in one language and a second in the other.

The weirdest thing about the whole controversy is I don't even find Eve that attractive lol. The IRL model is, but the game model has the anime plastic doll look, like they've tried so hard to make the perfect women they've gone too far to the point where it's boring. I thought Cyberpunk's female characters were way hotter than this.

What time is it?
  • Combat is just not that fun for me personally. Mobility is sluggish, dodging is pretty useless unless it's the perfect dodge. It ends up playing out very similarly to the kinds of fights you see in Souls games where it's best to just sit still and land your parries. Most of the high level play clips I saw in here showed that approach also. I liked the "mikiri counter" dodges. The melee combos don't seem that impactful to me personally. So far it felt like the finishers and flashy animations are designed by someone that is going for anime flashiness over the kind of combat choreography you see from someone who understands martial arts and designs combat in a way that feels visceral and impactful. The moves look flashy but they just don't do a lot for me in terms of getting excited due to the unrealistic combat choreography in the finishers.
  • Platforming, traversal and exploration weren't very interesting at this early stage. Same goes for level design. Having the ability to swim is a nice throwback though to older action games, so that could be cool later for exploration. No oxygen meter?
  • Not a fan of the monster designs so far, but it's early. Chainsaw head monsters just seem super random. Maybe some explanation would help.

Good thoughts, especially about the combat which didn't click with me at all. It's hard to explain but I was expecting something more along the lines of NG, Bayo or DMC and it certainly isn't that. It actually feels like an in between of a character action game and something from more methodical like a FROMSoft game. The enemy design felt really lacking too as does the level design (though that's harder to judge) which reminded me of how much it felt like the corridor style design of Lies of P.

hahaha is a heterosexual woman married to a heterosexual man and with a daughter an LGBT+ symbol? XDD

"in tune with their sexuality and their body" can people who mutilate their genitals say that?

I finally played the demo and I am really impressed.

The game looks good, and plays very well. You can go on the offensive, but you can also perfect block inbetween. The way the game tells you to initiate a blink strike is a very good risk reward system. Act too soon and you'll be sorry, but rather be patient. I like the mechanics. There are a lot of hidden corners in the map with loot, there are a huge amount of skill trees and you can try them out before buying them.

Its true that its methodical, which I like. I do think crowd control is questionable with the basic move set and camera but perhaps there are skills to cirumvent this.

I also beat the boss challenge and the tells are a bit weird to me still. The blue you can blink, the red flurries I tried to perfect block and the yellow you need to perfect evade?

Damn. I got gud. I'm styling on the Boss Challenge dude now. Can beat him every time and trying to get longer chains in without taking hits etc.

The combat system in this reminds me of Nioh's initial learning curve. You stumble and bumble like a fool against grunts at first and by hour 10, you're Ki Pulsing your balls off while crushing mobs. It took me a few hours to really get the hang of even the basics here as well and I'm more impressed by the combat the more I play. The real question is if people feel that same hook as me to keep learning and pushing through the initial "janky" feel of it. I say janky because my very first impression was that it felt like a stiff train wreck compared to Souls.

Really, really hope the full game delivers on the demo's promise. I couldn't care less about the character designs, not into horny games nor anime, but the gameplay has me crazy hooked.

There seem to be stun grenades, guns and all kinds of other mechanics that aren't accessible in the demo that I assume will come into play for crowds.

Crowd control is actually my only bigger question mark as well but I think touches like explosive barrels near crowds in the demo are promising. As in they did consider it beyond "kite one by one and pray".

Others saying they are not liking that Sony is pushing the game more than Ronin (which is false).
I don't see it, either. What's pushing the game the most is the controversy, also fuelled by the same people having a grudge against it. They are part of this cycle that keeps pushing the game into consciousness. It's not Sony. At least not more than for other games.

I never played Hogwarts, but no doubt its success was partially because of its controversies too. Many sites openly cancelled the game and refused to review it, and it became the best seller of the year anyway.

Stellar Blade is going to do the same. Well perhaps not the best selling game of the year, but its going to be a commercial success. The game gets a TON of exposure just because of its approach. And underneath is actually a very solid, challenging game with a good demo to voice it. This game is going to be a success, everything points to it right now.

What an abominable moron.

What I don't get is that this game actually is about a strong female. She obviously grows over the course of the game and from the get go she is slicing up huge and deadly alien creatures. Sony is pushing a new IP with a strong female lead is the bottom line.

It is he who can't look past the dress up. Because Stellar Blade is a rather ambitious action game.

It's interesting to see a group of people that would consider a man that enjoys well shaped breasts, thighs and behind a pervert. The genes that were more attracted to these features related to reproductive success were more likely to survive and hence we have evolved to be strongly drawn by these features. This is built in to our nature and there is nothing wrong with that.

Me and my wife were studying the skinsuit closely last night lol. At first we saw the characters as something that used to be perfectly common. But really... EVE is like... anatomically correct lol. We agreed we haven't played a game that modeled every nook and cranny of someone's body like that. We're normal and we were at least surprised. It's Korea, tho.

Just took a minute for us to get used to and it was whatever. But I can see someone with common enough conservative-puritan values (but not a woke psycho) being legit offended even if they were fine with say, bayo or cammy.
My wife just congratulated me for getting a game with a nice ass to look at heh, I’d 100% get more concerned looks if I was playing TLOU2 or something like that with realistic violence. Nice bodies can be seen everywhere today, at work, on the bus, when you buy groceries, definitely if you go to the gym, or just open a social media app. Why is it such a big deal when it’s in a game? 🤷‍♂️

Anyway it’s just too bad I’m so stubborn. I’m over double dipping and has decided to not invest in consoles since a month back. Bummer. I could make an exception but I’ve already bent the rules by playing the demo, the plan was to evaluate what it’s like to not use consoles.

David Jaffe being a clown once again.
One more reason as to why 2018 will always be the best God of War game.

I honestly wonder what has gotten into Jaffe. How did he go from making those games that he did in his younger days to being like this. Games he used to direct and design embraced a degree of absurdity.

The older GoW games even had silly sex mini games.

Insanely sour about Sony and probably not exactly living the life since his last game in 2017 was a big flop
sad dude overall

Ok with all the comparison with Bayonnetta I have to ask : do people really find Bayonnetta "sexy" ? For me it was always a sarcasm as I find her very repulsive xD The outfits, the poses, the attitude... Nothing works for me.

I definitely can go behind 2B and Eve but Bayonetta :sick:

They are hating on Sony for supporting the game lol
It's not even true that they push it more than Ronin (at least not yet, the game still has 3 weeks of marketing ahead of it). Ronin had so many trailers that I was starting to get Deathloop-style fatigue from it.
There is also the possibility that the marketing is data-driven; pre-order numbers, online discourse and number of views on the videos might indicate them that this is a game where more marketing will have better efficiency in resulting better sales.

New gameplay footage

Good gameplay from the person playing it. I saw the horrible like ratio and expected something bad in the gameplay, but nope, they are just getting railed for the IGN France comment, so much so that they issued a Sony PS3-hack apology lol

I haven't checked out the SB demo with my wife together yet but I do know that games like TLOU gives her nightmares. Literally. I can't play games like that with her because she's easily disturbed by violence. The clickers alone are too nightmarish for her. She hadn't had any nightmares because of boobs and ass, though.

I know that this is not necessarily the point some people make against that game. But it's still worth noting that some people can have different issues for different reasons with different games than you have. Also, many people are capable of seeing past sexualised expressions without projection this into real life. This goes way over the head of some people seriously thinking that this game is for virgins. You can have a healthy sex and do like sexy images of women on paintings, photographs, videos, games and movies or depictions in novels. Sometimes it's safer to express your desires on different mediums because you aren't judged. It's a safe space.

Also, I think we are to embrace different preferences, aren't we? If some lonely guy is simply not able get into a (sexual) relationship with a real woman, why shouldn't that guy pursue that desire digitally with no direct harm? "Just go out and talk to women" isn't always the best advice to people with anxieties. There are literally people having a relationship with dolls. That might sound weird, problematic and not "normal" and we tend to laugh it off, but if that's the only way for them shouldn't we let them be? After all that's what progressiveness, liberals and leftist aim for, are they not?

Some progressiv people are very quick to ridicule other people without much empathy nor consideration.

Ironically much like the MAGA redneck crowd, they also only like science and logic when it supports elements of their ideology. They're zealots, that much is obvious, and zealots of any kind are a danger to societies. You can't go ten pages in a history book without seeing that.

Don’t even bother trying to understand their thinking. It’s not like you lose the interest in women after you’ve lost your virginity lol or lose the interest in anything for that matter (food, cars, candy, snowboarding, guitars etc etc) after you’ve experienced it, unless you simply think it’s terrible.
People just need to loosen up and try having some fun. And sexy characters is fun. You should see my mods in Cyberpunk, Skyrim, FF7R etc. I’m always having fun! 😉

Haha, I got banned for two weeks. Looks like an admin saw my opinion for me enjoying Stellar Blade, considered it “trolling” and “ignoring staff post”. It’s weird to ban someone who gave an opinion but someone considered it trolling.

Fucking morons with shoe size numbered IQs there.

Eh, if you steer clear of the obvious circle jerk/ban bait threads you can get good conversations and some OTs get a lot more traction, especially for smaller games.

I'm not a member but I can see why someone might join even if they don't like/agree with the heavy handed political stuff.

No consoles? Man I thought you had every toy in the world! Either way, the demo was very good but not run out and buy a PS5 good. Shouldn't be a terrible wait once the launch fervor dies down.

You still have to walk on eggshells in a way or another.

You can't say anything bad about journalists or devs unless they are considered problematic, nor use strong\offensive words to describe most videogames.

They are gonna come at you even if you say that you don't trust modern media for whatever reason.

You are never free to speak your heart out like here on gaf.

I’ve had a feminist leaning friend who made a post on Facebook about some guy in a suit approach her in the street and had the balls to try and talk to her, she said men shouldn’t do try to approach women… I was thinking, bitch you wouldn’t be born if men didn’t take the initiative.

Yep. Women have been saying we can't approach them anywhere (however, school and work being off limits makes some sense) and now many are wondering where "all the good men are." Well, you probably scared a bunch of them away when you told them not to approach you in social environments.

46 and 18 hours… I just realized I’m not really a console gamer anymore.

That said, I can’t be without Nintendo’s consoles. Can’t wait for Switch 2!

But I’m taking a break from Xbox and Playstation for awhile. It’s an experiment. We’ll see how it goes. I just felt like I waste money buying every console and midgen upgrade when I barely use them and rather play on PC.

Xbox is easily ignored. Everything is on PC day 1 and better and has mods. Playstation is more difficult, means I’ll be at the wrong side of a timed exclusivity deal on every exclusive. It’s annoying for sure.
