Stranger Things [SPOILER THREAD] We're All Fleas Now

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Yeah no one seems to really comment on the status of the portal that opened up to the Otherside despite the fact that it seemed to be seeping into our world more and more with every passing day. Seems like that could be a huge issue but its never really touched upon.

Well they had other things on their plate, finding Will (adults), defeating the monster (teens) keeping Eleven safe (kids) so this will likely be a plot point in season 2. Plus we understood more than the characters by seeing what they all went through and putting it together. They just kind of used the information that helped them achieve their goal.

I meant that at the end of the show, no one really seems to have mentioned anything done about it. I mean I'm sure the government is all over the place but its never really mentioned that the portal was closed at all and I'm assuming was open even after the "1 month later" which makes me curious as to the status of the whole thing.

True. Maybe Hopper knows something about it, and part of the arrangement was working for them. I don't think anyone else would question it, Joyce only cared about getting her son back.

Its funny because everyone mentions will puking up the slug or Hopper leaving the food for El but no one seems to remember that their is a portal to a horrible parallel dimension still open and apparently spreading. That almost seem's like the biggest lead in for season 2. What comes through the portal next?

El.

Yeah, the fact that one of the portals was in Will's house likely will come into play, too.

The "Alien" egg from episode 8 and the fact that 10 subjects presumably came before Eleven (and really, there could be more) also sets up the possibility of other types of creatures or powers showing up in the town.

Season 2 has a lot of potential. Somehow I'm more excited for this than for season 3 of Twin Peaks.

My totally baseless speculation is that El is dead and that's the reason she never came back through the portal orrr... she is very much alive and trapt in the Upside Down because by "killing" the monster she also closed the portal in doing so and got stuck on the otherside. She did this of course to keep it from crossing back over to our world and killing more people. This is all just speculation though.

But why would Hopper place food in a bin? He mechanically got food at the police station as if it were routine, which would mean the food is being taken by El. At least that's how I saw it.

Marathoned this over the weekend and it was pretty great. The only complaints I have are the 'bad man', the shadowy government group, they're so incompetent and non-threatening. They seem to handle everything so poorly and it's quite easy to break into their complex apparently. I didn't find them threatening in the least bit. I was thinking about the X-Files and the cigarette man and how well done that was (in earlier seasons) and was hoping for something more like that. I think maybe a longer season could've helped with that, take more time to build them up and show how far their reach goes outside of this single town. The other problem I had was the heavy reliance on CG near the end of the season. I kind of expected it but still, it lost a bit of it's 80's charm with all the CG going on.

Best parts of the show. The music and Steve's hair.

I think she was trying to kill the monster but couldn't, so when she said : goodbye : she knew she had to take it back, somewhere dark and far away. she teleported with it back to the UD. there was no trace of bodies, just some ash that dissapeared.

I mean, she was using the rest of her strength to kill the thing, bleeding from the eyes. she unlocked her level 2 abilities by killing it. now let's see how she can fly or levitate in season 2 lol

Just finished the season and thought it was great. Not a character on the show who I didn't at least find interesting and were casted spectacularly well. Conflicted on whether I want the second season to be a continuation or a whole new story. Would love to spend more time in this world but don't know where they could go with it that I would find intriguing.

Also, can Nancy stop doing the head down looking up thing? It makes me weak in the knees.

I just finished episode 3, where at the end they find Will's body in the lake. Music choice so far in the show is so good.

When they showed there was a body, my first thought was that it was the same drunk who had said to one of the cops he had jumped it when he was drunk, and tried to prove it. The last 5 minutes were heartbreaking. Winona <3

Just spent 8 hours straight watching this. Great show. Definitely felt more like watching a long movie than a regular TV series. Looking forward to what is next from the Duffer Bros.

To be honest I would be content with this staying a miniseries. I don't want it to get drawn out and shitty. Even with the couple of open ended elements left alone it would be fine. I don't need to see El with a kindly foster family in Montana. I don't need to see Will impressing his friends with inter-dimensional parlor tricks at the lunch table. I don't need deeper info about the organization or the other side, etc.

Not to say I won't watch and possibly enjoy a season 2, but that is my feeling after finishing episode 8.

Just finished this. I think El is very much alive. Simply for the fact that if there is a season2 they aren't going to waste her character like that.

Also if there is a season 2 it will no doubt be a continuation. Too many things left open. You have whatever is going on with Will. I'd assume there are still portals out there.

I know it's Christmas and all, but maybe Will should have mentioned HE JUST GAVE BIRTH TO ANOTHER MONSTER.

Oh and he was in the Upside Down there for a sec, too. Should mention that, too.

Anthology or direct continuation? Id be ok with it either way. Just give us more of these quality shows.

Not an anthology or direct continuation. Think a leap like with the HP movies.

And ruin a perfectly fine family dinner? He'll just walk it off and it'll be fine.

The show is fucking brilliant man, I loved it so much. :') Loved all the characters, tough to pick favorites :') Best new show of 2016, 10/10.

I feel like El is alive and was a wee bit disappointed none of the good guys died (because I think she's alive). It seems that Game of Thrones has really spoiled me in terms of protecting the good guys in storytelling.

Barb, tho...

People must've really loved Barb.
Just read an unintended hilarious and awful article how Steve is a huge asshole because the woman who wrote was salty that he picked him over the Jonathan. At some point, she tagged an article of propping up Barb written by someone else and that linked tag was something like best character, or most loved internet character or some crazy shit LOL

This post is virtually incomprehensible.

I don't understand how there could not be a season 2 with all the cliffhangers at the end. At least one more season, but with more than 8 episodes.

And how could anyone not think El isn't alive? I mean the Eggos were a clear sign of her being alive. Am I missing something here?

I don't feel like there was actually that much unresolved beyond Eleven's ultimate fate and Will's little problem. I loved how this show left juuuuust enough mystery to be interesting, but not so much that I felt cheated that something was left unexplained. It seems like one of those situations where what we fill in with our own minds is more interesting than what the final explanation ends up being.

They wrote the show so that if they didn't get a season 2, none of the main plot threads were left hanging and there was no big cliff hangers.

I dunno, I think there are big enough cliffhangers. Will and El and Hop alone for me wants to see what happens next season.

I feel hanging

Nah. I hope with a season 2 they'll stick with the 8 episode format. I don't like when shows have to stretch the season out when the story doesn't really call for it. 8 episodes felt perfect.

Just finished it now..... WHAT A FUCKING SHOW!! The boys were so bad ass, I did a fist pump when Lucas puts on the bandana and goes out to find the gate.

THEY DID THR ARNOLD YOU SON OF BITCH HANDSHAKE!!!

The banter between the kids was hilarious, Dustin ' actor is fantastic.

Monster hunting by the three teens were great in episode 7.. God it was so good.

I can't wait to see if Will turns into one of the monsters in S2.

But the Wheeler parents are the worst in the world. Kids sneaking out all the time, boys sleeping in their daughters room without them knowing. A child sleeping in the basement, letting their pre teen son watch R rated movies lol.

Duffer brothers really hit it out of the park with this one.

Oh and that seen where El makes the agents brains explode, bleed out their eyes all at once in the school hallway was SSSSIIIIIICCKKKK.

Maybe the portal closed when the monster died.
The gate was opened by Eleven, not sure why it would depend on the monster.

I'd be shocked if it closed due to Eleven's supposed death, too. There's really no reason for that to be the case, it's not as though her powers were maintaining it from a mile away when she gets nosebleeds from manipulating compass needles.

It was opened by 11 making contact with the monster in the upside down. So maybe now that it is gone so is the original portal.
