Fuck I didnt get to play much, but I played enough that I know I'll need it. I do need a stick tho, especially if I want to play Bison and Necali

I swear there's alternating conclusions of Karin being garbage then Karin being OP in this thread.

I think that's just about everyone to be honest. I personally think she's in a good spot, her normals are good but her V-Trigger is not as strong as I expected and her V-Skill seems pretty limited.

It's just a beta and I'm far from a high level player but that's my take on her.

Come on, everybody loves Nadeshiko :)

It just feels incredibly unfair that Mika has a second person interfere in her fights. I mean in reality it's just the animation and the games is/will be balanced around it, but it seems like an odd design choice all things considered.

Honestly, the fact she's a professional wrestler makes that unfairness kinda work. I mean - if anyone was gonna have an offscreen entity interfere in your fight, wouldn't it be the professional wrestler? That's kinda their thing.

Capcom will be dumb to put stages behind a Fight Money paywall, because no one would buy them.

I think you are very, very wrong. Personally, that is the DLC I am MOST willing to purchase. I will buy costumes for my mains. I also may buy the odd super cool costume for other characters I don't use (though, let's be honest, Capcom doesn't make too many of those). However, unless it is unbearably awful, I would probably buy every stage (unless the prices are extortionate, that is).

As long as they keep the actual gameplay stuff free, I will quite happily toss them some dollars for cosmetic stuff.

Buying stages isn't that attractive to me (especially for this game), but I might be more inclined to bite if they had good BGMs tied to them. Forgotten Waterfall was easily my favorite stage solely because of the music.

I don't ever want to play there again.

Oh and Necalli is most likely the boss, that theme...

I suppose, but with that logic she should lose via disqualification every once in a while.

Do you think... do you think they will do all that?

They better.

Played 2 hours. Kinda hated my entire time with it so far. I think its time to pack the stick up and be done with the genre. I don't like any of the modern fighters, and sfv will be more or less the game to play this gen.

If you're still here, allow me to ask: what bothered you about the game specifically? The gameplay? The aesthetics? The polygonal graphics? The level of competition perhaps?

For me it was mostly the latter. Getting bodied constantly while trying to learn a character's basic moveset is not what I call fun. I did like the game overall though, except for the small bit of input lag I (thought I) kept noticing that messed up my ability to (try to) use any combo's. That lag (+ jump floatiness) is what kept me from fully enjoying SFIV as well, so either it's an unavoidable part of polygonal fighters or a problem with my tv (that I never notice with any other games though).

Edit: apologies for posting two posts back-to-back.

Hmm those Karin mix upa don't look hard to block at all. Also I hate videos that show combos & stun set ups off straight jump ins, so unpractical. Also that was a lot of resources for not that much damage. Though I can see some potential but nothing crazy. Kinda feel like she needs something more.

Bit late to reply to this but:

And if you still have something to complain about after floe-senpai shows you the ropes, idk what to say. Getting in is just playing the neutral game. She has good buttons, which he shows you at the end.

Vega was far and are and away the best character by a land slide. But yet no one played him, so hopefully being under the radar means he doesn't get nerfed to hell and back

Mika's mic skill made others think, I am going to try throw them. When I just randomly did it for the fun :D I guess I could have used that against them, if I knew the game better.

Eh is it any more unfair than using a claw or throwing knives or grenades. It makes no sense to try to apply that level of realism to SF.

His design does make me think that you could easily make a boss out of him by giving the boss version of the character some life/meter/damage buffs.

And they could always change it to him being just the sub-boss when more characters come out.

Don't let the flowchart get to your head man, it's ok to ask for a hug '-)

Oh, I'm not salty about Ken players, I'm just salty Ken got the cool punch instead of Ryu, since I don't particularly like him.

And he's ugly as sin. Ryu is all hot and shit and Ken looks like Banana King with his dumb face and hair.

I took this of R.mika's CA activation: (download for full size)

Jesus Christ, thank you, kind gentleman.

Can't wait for Hometown Season early 2016.

I wish everyone had that kind of animation where the attack stops at the block and then retreats, instead of just pausing and continuing.

Yeah, this is absolutely amazing, my favorite thing from this game's reveal.

Also the way the animation for c.HP works when you connect compared to a whiff. The animations just reflect his character incredibly well. If you turn off the HUD and do a simple BNB with him, anyone would be able to tell he's a heavy hitter. No need for damage numbers.

She is garbage. If you know her move sets she's pretty much easy to deal with and her moves being unsafe and her cross up V-Trigger can be jab out of.

I think people are looking at her follow-ups the wrong way. When you do her QCB+P overhead, you don't have to choose the slide or the air throw because those get beat by crouching. All of her follow-ups have a safest way to deal with, typically crouch jab. Now that everyone's crouch jabbing as soon as they're in a mixup situation, you do a move that punishes that choice. Eventually, they'll stop and your other mixup options will have more mileage.

Of course, I doubt we'll see all of her follow-ups frequently in competitive play. Regardless, she has great normals.

I think Karin is really good, at least in this beta.

c.MK and st. MK are fantastic, and she can get some pretty decent damage out of a random c. MK. Great super that's very easy to combo into, great EX moves, pretty decent anti air, she's a really good character.

Mika was the strongest character in the beta imo, but Karin isn't that far behind.

Speaking of her, another animation I adore from this game is her skirt moving. The animations in this game are out of control. Ojou <3

Like everyone else, there's guys with claws/knives/grenades in this so getting double teamed isn't that crazy. I wonder if there isn't even a tournament in V and the story is just people beating the shit out if each other in the streets. That would make a little more sense.

Now I want to see this with Mika and Nadeshiko's heads pasted in.

Lol

I love Ryu, but you're right. They could at least try to make it more interesting. Right now it may as well be a glorified jab.

His EX Shoryuken though...

st MP, c HP, ex Tatsu, ex Shory might be the most satisfying looking combo I've used in this beta.

Another thing I learned from the beta (and leaked files) and was pleasantly surprised: the OST is amazing. I wasn't feeling it from videos, but it's so damn good.

Karin's theme is godlike.

Vega has a fucking murderous claw! Half the cast can conjure mysterious fireballs from their bare hands. She had to do something to even the odds!

If any stage would get me to spend real money on it, it'd be this one.

I couldn't go back to my Beta 1 characters after using Mika

Cammy = boring, not even a grappler
Birdie = tank controls

I might just stick with her and Gief in the full game

Yeah I suppose Rolento uses deadly weapons and has back up, Nadeshiko is pretty tame in comparison.
