I'm not quite seeing how Rashid doesn't have a keep away game. Guy I just played seemed to do a good job of keeping me out and running away.

I changed it for some, it works best with some characters and not with others I feel.

Dear god I'm sorry you have to endure that.
Its fine. Finally got Joy2key to work after about a hour of mapping random buttons to see what actually worked on the keyboard.

Took me 9 hours and I finally got it.

Tried the PC beta a little, as expected my PC is on the weak side to run this but even in the slow-motion-ish form it still plays so damn well.

It controls so damn easy, haven't played an SF in years (haven't played SF4 at all) and was still able to start doing moves, combos, links etc. right away on keyboard.

The inputs seem very lenient. The first character I tried is Mika and had zero issues doing anything with her, CA comes out very easily too. HCF/HCB moves are no prob (the input for these is definitely more lenient than KOFXIII).

Is her MP into HP a link? I had a 100% success rate with it even though I just mashed HP after the MP with zero timing. If this is how it is for a lot of links in the game then it should be very welcoming to newer players.

Overall, extremely impressed but at the same time sad since I will be getting this for PS4 and won't be able to play it on keyboard :(

I've had barely any downtime between matches for the past hour and a half.

So, has anyone been able to get a ps4 stick working on the pc beta?
Use something like Joy2Key and map your buttons as needed to these keys:

G H J K
B N M ,

plus Enter for Start.

Actually, are there enough keys configured on the PC version to support two players? As in, another set besides player 1's GHJBNM? I might have a chance to play training with a friend later today but I'm not sure how button assignment would work.

Alright, just gave up on Karin. Was super hyped when she got announced but all thats left is the lingering feeling that my playstyle is not compatible with her.

Normally, after a couple hours of playtime, I get a good idea of which buttons to press in which situations for a given character. Karin just leaves me clueless 90% of the time. It's like I am just not seeing her options.

Dropped from Rank 800 to like 3k while playing her as well.

Oh well, I guess not every character is for everyone. Kinda bummed out by it anyways.

So has there been any comparison of PC vs PS4? Do they look/perform identically?

From what I have seen, PC obviously looks better in max setting. It seems PC support 4K resolution.

Biggest difference for me was that PC version doesn't have that weird dithering shadow that PS4 version has. And overall texture/IQ seems nicer.

Also I heard PC version has motion-blur added but not sure about it.

After playing a lot last night and losing a bunch, this morning I woke up and am having a lot better luck. While a few really good Karins have kicked my ass, I seem to finally be learning enough to not to lose to players I shouldn't be losing to.

Also, what's a good R Mika strategy against Vega? His damn claw makes it hard to get in close, and his c.mp to roll attack seems too safe to punish, which fucked me hard in the last fight I had.

Nothing like losing a match you should have won due to incomprehensible lag and your opponent jumping all over the place like a glitch in the Matrix. Jesus that's the worst I've had it yet.

I can't wait for the game to actually get released so I can get matched with people from my region ( uae, middle east, South asia) instead of people from the uk and Europe.

Got a couple of matches in. My laptop can't handle offline, but somehow was able to go full speed during online matches. Interesting. Taking a break to stream monster Milan Games Week and go back to sleep.

That's even more sad considering all these beta stats are just going to get erased.

Well, I see it like this. People that preordered the game are fans. They like to stick with their one character instead of switching around. They're also more concerned with winning than trying new tech, usually. They don't view the online stuff as casuals.

Does mika's armored ex peach have startup? I can't figure out if I'm getting stuffed on wakeup or if the game is eating my input.

Ragequitters in a beta? Really tho!?

I mean, getting destroyed by someone much better than you is gonna be frustrating regardless of whether this is a beta or not. Honestly it's probably even more frustrating in this beta since most people wont know the game properly, so they're gonna get recked by shit they don't have to.

I mean take me, against Ken players, I really feel like I have no clue when it's save to counter poke. So I often have games where the Ken player is just wailing away at me for much of the match.

I'm pretty sure I can normally do the ex reka look a like move on wakeup without much punishment

Y'know, I think the fact that it's harder to flowchart/play scrubby with Ken makes it more irritating than it was in IV. At least there it was something that could be hard to deal with online, but here it's clearly an even worse idea than it used to be. And every one still does it. They don't even use the right version of his DP. >_>

Why do people with garbage connections play online

It might not be a garbage connection from them, but a garbage connection between you two. Before I changed my internet provider, there was a friend of mine who I knew had a decent connection and other friends played with him just fine, but if me and him played against each other, it was lag city, completely unplayable. I'd have better luck playing someone from a different country. Not exaggerating at all.

To be fair, most people I've encountered in the beta think they're playing in Evo

It seems everyone online thinks they have tens of thousands of dollars on the line.

I have less than 20 percent HP, you're almost full and you're going to just turtle fireball spam me, bro? Really?

Is this shit actually fun for people?

Why would I stop doing something that works? True its not EVO or anything but the goal is to win the match. If I'm doing something that's effective, I have no reason to stop doing it.
