I have to wonder what the point in play SF5 is sometimes when the game doesn't even register what I've earned or what I have.

Fix your shit, Capcom. This is embarrassing.

the dude mentioned Mike Ross in his comment and you couldnt tell it was a joke

im actually shaking my actual head at you right now. In judgment.

I sat there in disbelief, previously notofile?
Hard lesson learned, but I'm ok with this.

I sat there in disbelief, previously not knowing Ken could do that.

I'm not surprised. Ken's tatsu is the best move in the game while being safe. I'm led to believe it's invincible as it beat Cammy's Cannon Strike on wake up during the beta.

I really dislike Karin's design. I hate the 'built in mixup' characters, it feels like they get a free-ride to 1000-2000 LP, especially as people are learning matchups.

I feel like characters like this always end up mediocre in the long-term meta, see Guy and El Feute as examples. Their core gameplan is built on gimmicks that become less and less viable as people develop matchup knowledge.

Although generally I think Gootecks is a fool, it reminds me of something he was talking about on stream, and how he 'doesn't want to build his house on sand' referring to how he doesn't want to build his fundamentals on strategies that aren't likely to be viable long-term. Unfortunately I feel that's the way of this game right now, there's a lot of players out there that clearly aren't working on their fundamentals, but instead they're spending their time making the most of the fresh meta, and abusing the lack of matchup knowledge.

Unfortunately for those players, instead of getting better, they're going to get worse over time, and in a way I feel that's Capcom's fault, for putting things these gimmicks in, in the first place. The games have never needed those additions. The game is already accessible enough without the gimmicks.

Same. I could've still won that since the SRK wasn't combo'd into, but suffice to say I was mentally guard broken.

Karin has great walking speed and ability to play footsies though, unlike Guy and El Fuerte, so I don't see her falling off in a similar fashion. Her mix-ups are also not as safe as they appear. She's fine.

my science from this morning is failing me now, no ranked matches popping up ;_;

I wish we could search for a certain amount of bars in lobbies like we can in matchmaking.

Why that isn't there in the first place makes no sense.

It's always a shame when a lack of matchup knowledge is what defeats you in the final moments. But in this case, unless I'm mistaken, I think it was your surprise that did you in.

You could have blocked after the Tatsu, then just killed him, no?

Quick question, looking into buying a fighting gamepad for this game, is the Hori Fighting Commander 4 compatible with Street Fighter V? Reading some reviews, found a couple of review sites saying that is not.

Getting loads of games but none are connecting now. Didn't think it could get WORSE. Companies will never learn with this closed beta for stress testing the network bullshit.

Can you accept invites from the training menu? It seems like bad design to have to go back to the main menu (wait a whole minute) to accept.

Completed all the character stories, the survival in easy with half of the characters and one in normal. Just played like 3 matches online and lost them. With that I have 200K+ fight points, enough to buy 2 DLC characters.

I also played several offline versus battles with friends, but I'd say they don't give you fight points.

When people complains about the single player content of this game typically forget the survival mode, which provides a fair challenge and a good amount of hours and provides fresh ideas compared to the previous survival modes seen in previous Capcom games.

It seems that way, don't it? Every. Single. Time. This is the norm. With all the technology man has created, we still don't know how to handle server overloads from tons of gamers.

I don't know, she doesn't really have anything to expose people does she? Her normals seem so-so, and she doesn't have any legitimate 50/50s, that something like a command grab would offer.

I can't really speculate on the end-viability of the character though (of course), I was just describing the typical pattern. What you can speculate though, are that people reliant on these faux-mixups are going to be exposed with time, and their focus on these gimmicks will have been time better spent on the development of solid fundamentals.

I know that her mixups are 'not as safe as they appear' and that's what I'm emphasising.
So far 90% of the Karin's I have seen appear reliant on them, but against anyone with matchup knowledge, those players are going to be free, and with time there are going to be more and more players with that matchup knowledge.

nope, no matches popping, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice etc not going to waste another day with this. Gonna play Rise of the TR or something. Have fun peeps

Pretty sure they are aware.

You handle server loads with more bandwidth, more servers.

But that costs money, why invest more when the server load will stabilize on its own as the player frequency gradually drops after the initial burst of day one, and week one purchases.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I see it.

I'm a 1,2k scrub

Get matched against 2k Mika

Take it super close

You guessed it

dc

The fucking fact that Capcom has done nothing to fix this, and missing the outrageously OBVIOUS issue in the first place, is nothing but pathetic

Oh I don't know how broad the character landscape is either this early into the game and I don't disagree with what you're saying about people resorting to shallow gimmicks either, I'm just chiming in that Karin doesn't fall in the same category because unlike Fuerte and Guy she can in fact rely on solid fundamentals. Also helps she has a multitude of ways of finishing a combo with her Critical Arts too.

You mean stop playing Street Fighter?
Playing Street Fighter isn't about leaving yourself wide open to frame traps, or being out-footsied, or eating Crush Counters set-ups all day because you don't respect the other player's advantage. Even a large portion of higher ranked players haven't learned how to put on a solid defense yet be it due to character unfamiliarity or not adapting to the change of pace yet, looking at how FChamp and Arturo expose them to persistent harassment re: Dhalsim.

Still getting matches fine but its still taking 3+ minutes just to get to the VS screen due to whatever the network is trying to do. Its not a loading time, its something to do with the server. Its the biggest problem with the game right now imo.

2-3 minutes wait time is the biggest annoyance for me too.
It is possible to complete a session of 20 matches in 20-30 minutes, BUT the time between those matches is going to add about another 40 minutes to 1 hour+ to that session. Yeah, the idea that you could spend 2-3 times more time waiting for a match than actually playing one is absolutely ridiculous...

And then there's this **** and any other server error codes.

And finally the issue of sore losers not being penalized while victors are.

Those are the three things I hope they are focused on having fixed very soon.

No, he means stop mashing those buttons and learn when it's your turn.

Apparently Street Fighter players can't take a joke, or understand a reference to the Excellent Adventures video I responded to.

Thanks for reminding me how to play the game though.

Oh God, I'm so bad at punishing Laura with Ken. I can guard most of her attacks and escape from her critical art and some of her throws but still the only punishment that I have for her is simple throws :(

Don't get me wrong, I know some BNBs with Ken and can even use my CA or EX moves during some of them but Laura's recovery seems way too short to let me kick start any of my combos. I guard, see an opportunity, try to punish her but before any of my attacks hit her she has her guard up.

So, what should I do guys?
Anyone? :(

Your CFN account is independent of your platform, meaning that if you double dip then your fight money should be there whether you log in on PC or PS4, right?
However, I don't think saves and achievements are cross-platform. Does that mean that you can earn fight money on PC, then log on PS4, do the same things again and earn double the fight money?
