Street Fighter V |OT| No Options to Select

Really hoping the battle lounges get fixed rather soon, was looking forward to playing with some friends today (only one at a time of course for the time being).

The survival mode makes me want to end myself already, but getting to literally the last hit on the final boss only to get booted off the server and feel like I wasted all that time grinding through dumb AI for nothing really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth -.-

So, there's no Exhibition Mode where you pick a character for yourself and a character for the AI and you just battle it out?

I'm not a huge Street Fighter fan but I don't think this mode was ever missing from a fighter before... Also, those campaigns are extremely short. I've gone through them in less than an hour.

Also, when does Survival End? I was getting to 25, but then I just quit.

Anyone who double dipped: Is there a way to sync your CFN account cross-platform? It seems like you have to create a separate one for PS4 and PC.

Can confirm that the dlc costumes are only compatible on the account they were purchased on :( Got the game preordered from US Psn back in august but i always play stuff on my EU account. This is the first time EVER dlc was locked to my purchasing account. Just a heads up.

glad to see 2P physics *glitch* is still there

at least something good came out of the launch

If you story mode offline you will not retain the fight money you made but your story will still be considered complete so you won't get that fight money back.

So I'm not touching story mode with a ten foot pole.

I'm wondering if survival is okay though.
You can re-play said fight and earn your rewards.

You can think it's horse shit all you want, but I don't think this is comparable to previous SF launch periods since Capcom have never launched an SF game that relied as much on being connected to a server as SFV.

But they and many others have released games which rely on the internet for a long time. If small indy developers can develop mobile games which rely on the internet and work better than this then there is no reason Capcom couldn't

This feels like a finished core fighting engine wrapped in an Early Access game. Haven't really tried to get online yet, but that's because I've got my own issues to deal with.

Mainly, with SFV I'm pretty much having to start over from scratch. NONE of my mains made it into this game. None of them have even been announced to show up later, and I deliberately stayed out of the beta. Didn't even play USFIV that much leading up to this. I'm learning from square one.

Right now I'm trying Laura but I might check out Karin and Rashid. I have no idea what either of them is even like. I never actually paid attention to Karin in previous games (the only game I own with her in it is GBA Alpha 3).

Easy ends in 10 fights, normal is 30 and hard is something stupid and monotonous like 50.

edit: If you're wondering what they unlock,
Easy: costume colour 3
Normal: costume colours 4, 5 and 6
Hard: costume colours 7, 8, 9 and 10
Hell: lol, here's some fight money

OK I think I'm done for the week..Got to 28 in normal survival, disconnected, 26 in normal survival, disconnected..OK, I'll try some story modes, Cammy looks good, disconnect 4 times before I manage to finish it, find the last 2 didn't give me FM.

Also, where do I find the code for Dress Chun? Pre-Ordered on PSN, have the pre-order theme, but the Chun costume disappeared from my DL list and isn't anywhere I can see.

Nope

You don't even register it to an email or anything

I don't know about PSN, but the Steam version doesn't support Cloud saves, either.

This game is downsample friendly!
There isn't really text scaling so it's perfect.
I want with 1440p with everything on max except Anti Aliasing and got good stable 60fps in games.
There are sometimes some minor drops in the winning/losing animation (55fps) but it's worth it.

Definitely a huge upgrade from the PS4, that looked kinda awful in comparison when I had to play on it at the launch event.

A small indie team would likely have less people trying to get on their servers.

I feel it's kinda dumb there isn't a character select screen in online battles. I have to pick my "favorite character" before hand

Yeah I was really surprised that it's actually like that. It was the same in the beta and I figured it was because of it being a beta.

Granted I can see the benefit of it. I know that I'm gonna be playing pretty much only Mika for a least a week or so, so not having to select her every match is kinda nice. But on the other hand, it's cumbersome as all hell in all other scenarios.

Does hell mode do anything for survival? The cpus act the same as in any difficulty, does it just set the end higher?

Hell is a 100 levels.

the different survival modes being titled easy, medium, hard and hell doesn't have anything to do with the default level 1 difficulty. It's simply that it's "harder" because there's more levels that you need to complete

Pretty much the worst thing ever is how long the loading is sometimes and the whole booting me out. Making me lose the FM or an epic run in Survival. Ughhh, not really getting any matches. Either, one against FANG and then a disconnect. Things will improve I'm sure.

I have to admit... The 3 fight per character story mode is not instilling much confidence in the future " enhanced" story mode we're getting in June...

Despite the connection issue I'm really loving this so far. Played around in training mode doing bnbs for about 40 minutes. I could never get a lot of training time with Chun in the beta and I'm loving what she can do in this.

Of course. Doing with cr mk by itself is easy. But going from st mp to cr mk into sbk is something else entirely.

Yeah it's pretty tight. You have to start charging as soon as st.MP hits really. I was getting it when I thought about it but it's a little awkward on reaction still. Almost reminds me of trying to do Venom's CR loop in Guilty Gear only it's more lenient here (thank God lol).

Chun is really fun in this game. Like her a lot more than in SF4 since I wasn't good at mashing out legs. Changing it to a regular input is a gamechanger for me.

It's a fun game so far but I personally don't recommend it at $60. It really doesn't feel like a $60 game. I wish they had gone the KI route. If they are going to leave out huge parts of the game until later, don't make us pay full retail until later via DLC.

Battle Lounge has a character select setting.

If you're here for multiplayer, whether it be online or local it will be worth it (not counting today for online lol)

For a general player though, as it is now I couldn't recommend to anyone at its current price, SRK peeps be like "You don't see what Capcom's doing mayne, they going for that LoL money, they could easily get MK sales by going after casuals but they after the bigger pie!"

LOL is free... so lol.

Having a blast learning the basics of her atm in training, even though I'll rather be playing....

Which makes having to do all the difficulties to unlock the costumes even more stupid.

I was under the impression that they made it like this so that if you pick another character you have low experience with, the game will try to match you accordingly. Instead of throwing you into the same skill level match as it would with your main.

Hitting an SBK from cr MK requires real tight timing. Whoever said this game has easy combos hasn't played Chun Li.

It's easy. I got it down to 90-something percent in an hour in the beta, with limited training mode time. cr.lk cr.lp st.lp xx lk sbk I'm actually having more trouble with.

GRANTED, I've been playing fighting games for like 20 years, so your experience will probably vary, but there's absolutely nothing in 5 (so far) like lightning legs loops or superjump into ultra cancels or tsumuji loops.

Ya, it's just straight up boring, and you gotta slog through up to 50 matches straight to unlock colors. Capcom is outta their minds.

50 matches? I got so bored I just let the A.I. win at 32 matches. I'm just going to stick to Steam Mods for colors and costumes.

So, there's no Exhibition Mode where you pick a character for yourself and a character for the AI and you just battle it out?

Apologists will tell you to just use training mode, but a vs AI mode is one of the most basic features in a fighting game that's missing.
That, no arcade mode and the server broken down has left a bitter taste. Hope they sort this out soon. Would like to play some matches after work today.

Damn SFV getting destoyed in Steam reviews lmaoooooo. There goes any hope of having big sales on PC cause i feel like lot of people who are not familiar with a game look at those reviews. I know i do from time to time. Capcom blew it lol. Good luck to them they are going to need it.
I will be playing it still :(

Shitty comparison on PC, but here's max and medium (default probably close to PS4). You can see the dithering on the shadows on the bottom picture which is fixed with max.
That's minor to what I'm seeing on my PS4. During gameplay, it basically looks like there is a mesh across the fighter's face and the actual shadows are just dots. I assume something must be wrong on my setup. I'm going to look into it more tomorrow.
