The upcoming story mode is said to be between 1-2 hours, which is in the ballpark of the character prologues if you add all 16 up.

Yup. If my DS4 turns off, it is disconnecting my SFIV Fightpad. I ended up ordering the Hori RAP4 Kai last night once they went back in stock on Amazon. Hope to have it tomorrow. Maybe matchmaking will actually somewhat work then.
 
BTW i thought that they said that story mode on SF5 was going to be this big thing, So far story mode has been a joke. 3-5 fights and its over lol, no animations, simply drawings, i mean they are nice but i kept hearing story mode was going to be a big step up... I guess MK spoiled me with their story modes lol...

Youtube is your friend. Also, to everyone who is genuinely interested in learning beginner fighting game fundamentals, download fightcade and get your feet wet.
 
Got to 29 on Normal. Necalli just destroyed me. I'm probably tired and sleepy. I'lll try again tomorrow but this gauntlet and dying at the end sucks. I can't imagine doing hard or hell and dying at the end...
 
Damn, that downtime. Well, hopefully they've got a real lead on the problem and will have everything buttoned up this time around.

In before 8+ hour downtime.

Cinematic story mode is coming in June.

You're right. The graphics are not great in the shadows department (and backgrounds as well)
 
Against my better judgement I played Survival mode on Normal. I just wanted to unlock some colors. So I'm glad I at least have a little variety with my character but goddamn is the A.I. bad in this game. The only A.I. that's worth a damn is Bison and even then you annihilate him once you know the pattern.
 
PS3 TE stick keeps disconnecting after a couple minutes in training mode.

Frustrating as hell, I hope they fix it soon.

I'd say even waiting until the march update would be good. It adds more single player content that could help you improve at the game AND it'll come with the store so you can spend your fight money instead of banking it for 2 weeks.

If you care mostly about single player stuff yeah. Otherwise the game should be good to go in a couple weeks tops. Right now only grab this if you intend to play offline versus or grind in the lab lol

Survival mode is just shit. Fighting scrubs with zero difficulty and zero fun for 15-20 minutes, until level 29. Why? Why is this shit this way?

The way the buffs work is shit. Health regain should be automatic like in literally every survival mode ever made. Having to choose health regain just makes that shit useless.
 
Well guys I haven't been able to play a single game today. I feel for those people who took the day off to play this. Has capcom ever released a game before? Was 6 betas not enough? good stuff

Training mode. Story and Survival are not worth a damn because the A.I. is garbage. If you're interested in a character; go into training, look up their moves, mess around for a bit. Then go to Youtube and find an actual tutorial.
 
Currently having a problem getting my PS3 stick working. Recognizes the button inputs but not the actual stick. So I can kick and punch but can't move.

Thats allot of fighting :( so on 1 character, thats 10fights+30+50+100? to unlock colours on 1 costume for 1 toon.

But we all know we will have the option to buy those in their online store. Now i know why they make it painfully long boring and make it hard at the end so you die, then give up, then say to yourself fuck it, im just going to buy it on the store 1 month from now....

I went into training mode and tried out all the moves but that's like....it.

I don't know what else to do in there
 
Anyone know if its possible to unlock the colors offline?
After so many disconnects I don't care about the fight money anymore just wan't to have more options.
 
I haven't been disconnected from the server once after I logged in. The only times are when SFV gets suspended in the background but that just makes sense.

Turn connection off and play survival?
I just got the game using Redbox, so I'm not sure myself. I hope getting colors through survival is possible offline, coz the servers are going down for 3 hours soon. Otherwise I'ma break this disc in half
 
Question. Is there any way of knowing what the flag is on the battle lounge or connection status before entering? I'm assuming the flag is supposed to be shown on the SFV flag and there's probably a shitload of bugs right now. Otherwise these lounges are even more useless than the ones in SFIV.
