Actually, you need to beat hard in order to unlock 4 of the alternate colours. I think hell is the only one that doesn't unlock any.
 
I'm going to assume this will all work properly by Tuesday.

Weekend is going to kill servers. While Monday it slowly recovers and Tuesday hopefully Capcom has got their shit together and everything works how it's supposed to.
 
Got it on PC and am a couple of hours in. Tried out mika and liked her so after a bit of training went online. Got matches pretty quick so that was nice. A few were laggy and teleporty as all hell despite asking for 4-5 connection.

Regardless I was expecting to get owned over and over but after 3 losses I started winning. Not sure exactly how many as I can't connect at the min but prob going 50/50 win loss right now which is cool. I love that it's more back to basics than 4. Feels more like the fun days of 2 and EX.

Shame about the server issues but I'm sure that will iron out over the next few days.

Also I really like using my xbone controller for this. The dpad is perfect.

Only done 3 of the mostly crap story mldes but Mikas was pretty funny. Zangief was making me laugh.

It'll go something like this:

Today(TUE) will be worse. Everyone is thinking the same thing (gonna get home and play).
(WED) Will be the much of the same although slightly less so.
(THU) Will be slightly better than WED. But you will get dc'd every match or two.
(FRI) Will be a disaster
(SAT) Will be a nightmare. The server will turn into a savage.
(SUN) Will be slightly better than the nightmare of SAT. That's still bad.


We will begin to see the game being in a consistently playable state come next TUE. MON would be nice, but is unrealistic.

Won't even give me an error message anymore that'll let me jump in to training, just sits at the main menu screen trying to connect. Been like that for 5 minutes. A+
 
So you think this game is worth it? I can get deluxe for 60$ from gmg just been reading and it seems everyone is saying the game is completely broken. It will be my first street fighter since like SF2 lol.
 
Just finished an easy survival and the game froze for 5 mins on the loading screen. Then it gave me the color but not any fight money despite it never saying anything about the servers... It was just easy but I was also kicked from normal in the 20s last night, and it's always rough to lose single player progress because of server shit.

I really hope they can get it stable because the game is a lot of fun when it works.

It's an early access game for people who really just want to play multiplayer at the moment (and the servers aren't working right lol).

Come back and ask in a few months when it's got $60 of content.

It really isn't. Think how damn easy it would be to have two controllers, and player 2 just stands there while you rack up points.

Cause I pretty much only play locally so now I can't unlock new things without having to grind in other modes

Servers were almost working perfectly last night though. No disconnects, and ranked/casual was completely working with quick matches. The only thing that was broken at that point was battle lounges. Went to sleep hoping everything will be good by today but it seems to have regressed :(
 
So I'm sure this has been answered a lot already but what's the definitive answer - I have a Hori Fighting Stick Mini 4 and it doesn't seem to work in game on PC vanilla. I've seen Joy2Key and x360ce mentioned - which is better and why?

take it piece by piece. just try the qcf k into p on its own for a while. Try to do the "just frame" version, where the punch is done very shortly after the k. She will make a different sound when doing the move so you know you did it right (the damage is better too, i think its 80 vs 60something). Just keep practicing that, then cancelling the standing medium punch into it, then do crouching med punch into standing med punch into it

Yeah, whenever I go into a fight my brain completely forgets how to execute every combo I learned in the lab.

In other news, I picked up the Hori FC4 today at the recommendation of GAF. So far, I like it a lot more than the DS4. Button placement will take a little getting used to, but I'm glad to have a competent Dpad.

...Are the servers down for anyone else?
 
Well can't play the game that I paid full price for. What a fucking joke. This is my last capcom game ever and my last preorder ever. I have finally learned my lesson.
