This is kind of upsetting tbh. So much being said about this game lately has been emotional and reactionary, and once everything online is smoothed out those reviews will still be there and negatively affect peoples perception of the game. This is a weird case where I think the professional reviewers got it right while the general consumer completely overreacted.

If there's one thing general consumers are good at, it's overreacting.

Get outraged first, think later (or never).

I really want to move past 1000 LP with Mika. For some reason I just can't progress after that point; it's beta 4 all over again. :(

I wanted to main Karin but I just can't do it. She has so many options that I freeze in a real match and think what my next move is instead of just reacting.

I think a lot of the whining is a bit premature....however, the game isn't worth it for many peeps right now. I'd say they need to do some research but it is what it is.

I warned people to fucking wait if single player content was their thing but here we are anyway

Consumers spent their hard earned money on something that doesn't work. Figure it out.

The core game works, the online has been borked for a couple days. Content is light, but I maintain that the primary content of a fighter is its gameplay and multiplayer, which in this case are great (especially now that the online is working). The way people have been raging about this game (2 stars on Amazon? Really?) is kind of absurd. It's unfortunate that the server issues have been there, but overall they're a short term problem that people have gotten a bit too riled up over.

Perhaps I'm more forgiving of the server issues because I've seen how software companies/releases are run, but even then I think the way some people have reacted has been too over the top.

We're pretty much in agreement here.

I played against a Brazilian. Trash. Against an American. Trash. And against an idle Peruvian. That went fine lol.
Funny thing is I played about 15 matches with a friend a while ago in a lobby and it was all good, but I still can't find matches consistently on Ranked. I want my points :/

A lesson some people should learn. You never preorder a game unless you research heavily about the game or you have enough confidence for the product itself. After that, you're on your own.

I really hope Sakura will be in a future DLC. She's my bae. I'll buy every costume she will get LOL.

Eh. I wouldn't worry about Sakura's chances. She'll be playable one day.

No they got it wrong, the purpose of a consumer review is to inform the consumer about the product they are buying right now, not what that product will be like a few months down the road. A review for the current game should address the content (they dont have to criticise it, the reviewer can of course assign what "value" they wish to it) and arguably the launch issues (probably more as an addendum than part of the review proper). They can then update the review at a later date when the content/situation warrants it.

People can only review the product they receive. If they receive a poor product it's more than fair to give it poor reviews.

That's strange, I never had to do this before. Or maybe I somehow never realized I was holding it the entire time. WTF?
It's an option. You can either make it appear immediately after pressing start/option, or make it so you have to hold the button (presumably so no accidental pauses in pro matches)

I am trying hard to force myself to not click any threads on this game that isn't the OT or actual new information. I need to get better at letting people be mad at things but its hard sometimes to see people be a bit unreasonable in cases but what I am going to do is just let them cook. I remember being super butthurt about NBA2k14 lacking Create a Player..and being told "its fine" over and over again on OperationSports..so I DO know how they feel (the difference here is that Capcom warned us and somethings are coming ..and can be fixed whereas 2K basically said "go fuck yourself" but still).

I just hope lobbies get fixed and the server stuff gets ironed out...and also that stuff comes early March and not end of March like I expect because Capcom.

I do wish we could talk more about the actual games in general around here but I'm not God...so I'll shut up. I need to get better at that in general...its just a bummer to see all negativity all the time, y'kno?

every single time I complain about survival mode and I just keep going back to that fucking shit, wasting 30 minutes of my life, getting to level 28 and then having nash destroy me

goodbye

Played a few hours after the server maintanence. Matchmaking kinda works but

- takes around 2-4 minutes on average to find a match
- 9/10 matches starts turning the game into slow motion as soon as I get matched and won't return to normal speed til a few seconds after the match starts. I believe this even makes the loading time to be quite a bit longer than usual. Very annoying.
- battle lounges are broken. I invited a friend to play 1 match then we got disconnected. Since then I tried probably 30 times to recreate a lounge and invite and he keeps getting "the room does not exist"
- the said friend cannot look me up on CFN even though I could for him and added him on the first try

I could not stop playing during the betas but the slow motion problem I'm having right now is so annoying it kills my motivation to keep playing. Hopefully they could fix this ASAP.

You on PC or PS4? That slow motion thing is super weird.
