Wait 5 minutes for a match, it's another Ken... match is over, wait another 5 minutes... failed to connect. This on a 50mbps connection in a populated area. GG Capcom.

I wait maybe 30 seconds before I get a match im in LA. Wait till you get higher ranks, Birdie's everywhere.

Anyone got a guide to Laura? I try doing her command throw as wake up but et bopped, I'm not so good with command throws lol.

What's so hard about her command throw? I would hit the lab and practice that. Her ex version has good range.

Imo, my problem is that she doesn't have any real combos. She has target combos (one of which leads into her over head) but you can't combo into any special moves. There are moves that look like they should link or cancel into her elbow+grab move, but don't. It's weird as shit. Like you can't even do CR. Med kick into that move wtf? Why? It isn't a true string. You can only do standing cancels on her med and strong punches.

She seems to be the most simple to play because she doesn't have any combos or follow ups that aren't hard coded into her character.

Her best tool is her projectile. Use it when you floor the opponent and I guess overhead/jump in on block or if it hits forward target combox2 into her overhead. Like that is her only two options lol.

I tried the betas and never really liked it. But making the OT gave me hope and hyped me up a bit. Just not a fan of the gameplay

I think its some of the best fighting game gameplay in a long time. Having an absolute blast with just about every character going to have to pull myself out of the lab and get back to ranked matches though.

Matchmaking has been on and off, sometimes slow sometimes okay, but I haven't been getting booted anymore ::crosses fingers::

I am disappointed with the matchmaking system. I'm only getting matched with people really close to my country, like, the enemy variety is not that great. This limits opponent pool a lot, also, never being matched with any new players. Everyone is a fucking expert even at my league (Rookie/Bronze).

I spent all yesterday in training mode with Laura and thought I could beat anyone in the world.

I just lost every online match...badly.

Anyone got advice for trying to main her?

Absolutely adore new Vega, can't decide who I'm going to put more time into between him and Necalli. Vega's normals are just too good.

If anyone from around Pakistan, the Emirates or the Middle East would like to play, then add me on PSN.

PSN id is lucebuce

Fighter ID is also lucebuce

Will be able to play in like 4 hours.

Managed to go 6-3 ranked with Laura, pretty much going in cold. Had an epic match with a Claw player that went down to the wire with no one committing.

Once I get some repetition in with her BnBs I think I'll be just fine. I'm enjoying this much more than SF4. Seems to lie in the medium between the Zero/Alpha games and SF3 for me as far as feel goes, so I'm happy.

Are you using Thunder Clap to trap on knockdowns? I've found its been pretty effective for me (much like Aegis Reflector) It allows me to keep spacing if I need it and lets me do some mixup if I want to. It's probably not optimal strategy but it's worked so far.

Also are you trying ex.Bolt Charge to go through projectiles if you're within range? That should keep shotos honest if you're having trouble closing distance.

Alright in any event, I set up a lounge just to try this out.

psn same as gaf
cfn id = thelogride
password is 4587

How do people even find each other's lounges?

She's a grappler she's not supposed to combo that much

Either it's about trapping your opponent in wake up. You wake up too fast from the command grab and you get hp to m rodeo break, wake up to late you get mk to bolt charge.

I'm enjoying this game. Been messing around with Ryu, Chun, Vega and Nash a bit.

Will probably try out Laura, Karin, and Fang soon. And Rash.

Anybody is free to add me on PSN. PSN Id is SuperJevitto and CFN is LaFlare.

Laura is really good but kind of tricky as she doesn't have a bunch of combos and her qcf M is super unsafe on block. I play a lot of footsies with her and punish hard on openings. really good and safe pokes are cr MK, qcf short P. Also her V skill takes a lot of getting used to, most people I have played against don't even realize you can cancel a bunch of her normal into her V skill giving you a bunch of mobility and depending on what they do a free overhead wheel kick hit. Her projectile is also much better than it seems but its not like most fire balls where you can just toss it out there without a game plan.

Played about 30 matches between ranked/casual and a few against Gaffers and Kronic Sauce (the streamer). My first time actually playing the game as I didn't pre order it in time for the beta. Really want to give this street fighter and fair chance to get good/decent at the game. I'm by nature really shy and nervous/scared to play online against other people. I let that fear get the best of me in SF4 so I was only ever a training mode hero. I have to think there are others out there like me who want to improve but also want to just have fun matches.

Not sure how helpful it will actually be in the present but maybe in the future CFN will be more expanded so we can easily setup lobbies with gaffers and level/rise up together.

As a last note for as bad as I expected myself to be I finished my first night with a winning record so that's not too bad. Shout outs to the Karin player with 18 win streak who fucking destroyed me lol. I gotta learn her sometime!

Karin is so tough to fight for me. Try and get some matches in with GAF Karin players. That's the first thing I did when I saw how weak I was to her.

online seems to be pretty smooth now, although I've gotten more laggy people than I have in the past.

I noticed that my location is correct on the map even though I used a VPN (I disconnected it before making my CFN ID), so there's no problem there.

Anyways, as Bison against Laura - what the hell do I even do here. Part of my problem is all her attacks look the same but there's other issues like her projectile stopping my offense entirely. I guess I just need to play her for a bit but it's by far my most frustrating match.

Confused as to what that means? Ranked wasn't up before?
taking long to find matches so far. 5-10 min between per match. Probably they are fixing that. But i just started playing online so i guess not many people on rookie mode.Or maybe not enough people bought the game due to backlash But i am getting some decent wins i think I am like 8-2 so far i should 10-0 but making stupid mistake and lost to a jumping ken. oh well thats life can't win all the time....:(

*cough*PlayDhalsim*cough*

Haha, I don't know how the matchup will turn out but during the betas I only lost to 1 of the Karin army as Dhalsim and my excuse was that person was Canadian and the maple bacon internet was too much from the Lone Star State. Dhalsim can space her well and the fireball keeps her jump in check. Her command dash you can out poke her, and a lot of them that rely on the overhead gimmicks are easy to blow up because you just need to block and punish her.

Karin seems to have a lot of tough matches. Dhalsim is definitely one of them.

Yea I figured that much. That seems pretty simple. I say she is the perfect character for newbies then. Waaay more than ryu or Ken. That's a good thing. Her hardest input is a half circle command (and that isn't even tough). I also like her buttdrop j. HKick. HahaXD

Anyways, I still haven't decided on a main yet. Karin and mika are surprisingly deep to play with. Karin's moveset totally changes in VT mode. Trying to wrap my head around her mix ups as well. She can link link old school sf4style so it feels like "returning home" almost.

Ken? Man... He's tough. I beat noobs due to fundamentals from past fighting games, but man.... I know I will get blown up with him. I can't get in. His normals are short. *sigh* plus everyone seems to hate Ken again too. Lol

I'm in a neighboring country. Add me, CFN: Boogalogist.

I only play around midnight though.

nice, so I'll have to add your CFN to my favorite list? my CFN is Callibretto5. I think I'll have to use my Asia account since my US account didn't get the dlc costume I redeemed in my Asia PSN.

Crazy to hear some are having issues with matchmaking still. I've had at least 20 matches in the last hour and a half or so. Usually takes less than a min to find a new match. I'm on the East Coast.

You're so right. First time I played a Karin I had no clue what to do. But I'm starting to get a hang of the gimmickry she utilizes. Need to keep composed and remember my spacing.
