I don't have the game yet, but how do survival modes work? Is it relatively easy to unlock colours? Are all the difficulties the same number of opponents or what?

Survival is pretty awful. Easy and Normal aren't bad but there are so many matches that it's such a grind. I'm pretty sure they'll sell those colors for FM in March so I'm fine with that but I despise that I'll have to still beat it on Hell for a trophy.

Hori RAP4 Kai is relatively affordable and a decent enough stick

I have one and I think it's quite excellent. I think only people who have spent hundreds of hours with various premium sticks could even tell the difference. It's like a good cigar, there's definitely a point where only the connessier can explain what makes a $30 cigar better than the $12 cigar.

Its easy if you're a computer. Color 2 is locked behind story mode (really easy) Colors 3-6 are Normal, 7-10 is Hard.

Thanks.

Does Survival at least net you a decent amount of FM?

It's not like I'm getting matches every 30 secs like other people have reported, but at least in getting them, unlike yesterday which was a total clusterfuck. This and finally watching Deadpool later tonight will make for a good day.

Have fun really entertaining movie and make sure you stay still the very end.

Those matches are the best opportunity to improve your game though! Sure, you'll probably lose, but if from the wreckage you salvage some tech you invented in desperation or learn something about how to defend against a certain character you didn't know before, it's totally worth it.

Or maybe I'm just trying to spin it that way because I suck. Or both, I guess. Could be both...
I think my win rate must be sub 20% ATM thankfully k d ratio means nothing in anything but fps

It's also really easy to upgrade. It took me 15 minutes to take out all the buttons and replace them sanwas.

Probably about the same. But I just got the game yesterday and I always gravitate to technically complicated characters, so it takes me that much longer to get my feet under me.

...and I kinda suck.

Still fun though!

Faced a really good Zangief this morning. Very patient, and made me afraid of that headbutt move. Not quite sure how to approach him with Rashid since his whirlwind fireballs keep him grounded (where he wants to be anyways). Since you don't want to be in his face, and since Zangief's limbs are much longer, it looks like whiff punishing is the name of the game in that matchup.

From a (average) gief's perspective, you actually do want to be in his face, or at least, shouldn't be afraid of being in his face. Gief doesn't have fast options since his command grabs are nerfed in startup so he won't be able to punish things like light tornado convincingly and you can probably string together some frame traps. You have to watch for EX RBG but I think you can avoid it if you mix in lights and react to the flash or use fast multi hit attacks like tornado.

Just did a ft25. I WON!!!!! GODDAMN MY FINGERS ARE STEAMING LIKE THEY WERE ON FIRE.

CUZ I WAS PLAYING MY B O Y KEN!

Damn his standing medium punch is real as hell! Dem combos, dem fire legs, dat comboing literally everything into CA!!!!

as a Gief player, unfortunately this is accurate lol

The fighting is amazing I've only played 1 match where my opponent was totally new and they were using birdie and I held back in that match, still win but ATM have a 10 loss streak going on

Of course. I've been approaching the matchup as if I was facing SFIV Zangief. Thanks for the advice!

Yet, you still won't go against me. :T

Well the parts are pretty much equal to Sanwas and it comes down more to preference. I actually prefer the Kuro buttons and Hayabusa stick to Sanwa counterparts.

Fun fact with Normal Survival:

It's 29 matches where the AI barely fights back, and then you get bodied by Bison.

Just be cautious and wait for him to open up, I read all of the comments where people were pissed they lost badly to Bison. So I kept buying health for the last 3-4 matches leading up to Bison. Didn't even needed it since I perfect'd his ass.

How do you fight Mika? I don't understand her stuff well enough to know what to look for. Pokes look kinda bad but her grab range and damage makes it scary to block her attack range and I'm unsure of how to deal with dropkick ATM. Her ex armor move doesn't have armor on frame 1, I take it?

3 win streak /shrug

if only matches didnt take 20 minutes to pop ;_;

also, Nash's super hits even if you jump? such bullshit :p

edit: 4 wins! that one popped fast... is this like a old car, just takes a while to get going? lol

Is it worth picking up if you don't have, nor have any intention of getting, a fighting stick? I enjoyed the beta, but suck at fighting games.

So he basically won that, right?

I never use fighting sticks with fighting games and I much prefer it. If you can comfortably play the game without a fight stick then by all means don't get one.

If you like pads, there are some options out there. If you are fine with the stock DS4 and are willing to lose a lot online or just play local with friends, it's worth it. Single player content doesn't really exist.

Hahhahaha beat a silver league ken player with a 45 wins streak and he ragequitted (I'm bronze league). What a scrub. Pretty sure that was not a legit disconnect.

How do I watch my replays? After a few ranked games I go to CFN and the replays section is empty. Do I need to actively do something to save them?

Also, I'm playing M.Bison and I really miss being able to do tick throws. I kind of want to learn a faster walking character so I can do that again.

i've never played an SF game with a stick and this one is by far the easiest to play. I link everything properly without much trouble except timings sometimes.

No need for a stick
