Has anyone here beaten HELL survival mode? I want to know if the title you get is character specific? Also fuck how do I beat this mode in HELL difficulty easily with R. Mika? I thought maybe spamming her body splash would work but eventually the CPU catches on in later levels.

zangief was always the bane of the CPU in SF4, maybe give him a try.

Stick just arrived!

Shits about to get real son!!!!

So many defensive minded spammers online. It's great because it makes for close fights but it's so frustrating.

Stop saying that it's spamming, and stop saying it's frustrating. As someone who plays defensively, you're playing right into my tricks because you're getting frustrated dealing with zoning. There's always a way around a defensive wall, it's up to you to close the gap. :P

Managed to do twenty or so matches with my friends through BL, and man I need to get better, LOL.

Almost got bodied every single time. I'm using Ken so if anyone has any tips/pointers on where I need to get started I would appreciate it.

Most of the times I'm on the defense and they are just putting pressure on me non-stop so I can't do anything but guard and eventually mess up. I try to do V-reversals but I'm just under too much pressure so I can't even see a good window to get one in. And even if I do I don't have that many BnBs/Combos to follow up on it and go on the attack so I just end up putting some distance between myself and the opponent which usually is useless since they just keep on coming after me.

So, what should I do guys?

Since people are making threads about every negative thing about SF5, can someone make a thread about something positive?

Like the 9 minute character tutorial series they've started on their youtube channel?

Ryu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZGql2q-G1k
Chun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiWzd5cd2fk
And, obviously more to come.

Some folks have complained that the game gives you no guidance on how to play.
It looks like Capcom actually had something in mind.

How can I score a Battle Cammy costume?

Are pre-order codes confirmed to hit the PS Store at some point?

Or do they come with the Season Pass

So does anyone know what happens to my unlocks and online stats if I delete my Steam install of SFV? Does Steam backup save files or will I have to do that manually?

Learn how to space yourself from the opponent well and learn your anti-air buttons for when your opponent jumps in. If you find yourself being pushed to the corner often then you are giving up your space on the 2D plane too easily.

That's cool. I hope it doesn't take them too long to get to Birdie.

What is with every high LP Ryu I fight just running away and spamming hadouken the entire fight? It's really hard to deal with as R. Mika if they know what they're doing at controlling distance. I feel like the hitbox on all of his attacks can manage to somehow get me even if it doesn't connect with my body...and that priority.

Yeah, Mika's game plan is to get in Ryu's face and a smart Ryu knows to keep Mika out. Her normals are lacking for sure. Try just walking forward and blocking fireballs. You only need one setup to usually get anyone in the corner with that Irish whip. Stand outside Ryu's cr.MK & st.MP and try to counter poke with your MP or MK. Don't jump, stand your ground and try to bully him to the corner. If you are somewhat close to them and they are scared to throw fireballs, use charging HK. Also, your V-skill forces them to come to you.

If you are always under pressure and being on defense, it probably means you aren't anti-airing and aren't poking/playing the neutral game well.

I would say your first priority if you aren't already competent in it is to practice your anti-airs (I'm unfamiliar with Ken so not sure what his buttons are outside of shoryuken)

Anyone using a DS4 on PC?

According to DF's face-off, InputMapper (and I'm assuming DS4Windows, ) adds latency to your input. (Due to it translating the input to XInput..)

I haven't noticed this myself, but perhaps I'm losing my touch on this stuff.

Im using a DS4 with DS4Windows and it feels on point. Screen is 14ms too so I'd say DS4W is safe.

They'll eventually come. Probably not for at least 2 months based on previous preorder bonuses.

The costumes that come with the pass are for the 6 newcomers.

not in the game so it doesn't count

<crossing arms>

jk. Good find, will look at these later.

Really digging Rashid now. Having better luck with him online. That feel when you drop someone back down to bronze and you are still a rookie feels good.

Thanks. I usually try to use HP DP on jumping opponents but it's risky and even after it connects I need to get back from opponent that wants to get up so I'm slowly being pushed to the corner. Maybe I need to use some normals as my anti airs?

Alos, any way for me to be the one who puts the pressure on them? I hate it that I'm the one who is always on the defense.

It's not negative enough, so it won't be watched.

Yes, you do. Try practicing not using any special moves at all a few matches, and only anti-air with buttons.

Had my first hours long online session with the game today and oh my god people actually play footsies online! 6 years of SF4 or whatever and that almost never happened! Whiff punishes! Buffers! And it plays like it's offline if you set it to 5 bars/accept manually.
I'm in love.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I usually use shoryuken but as I said it has other problems and eventually puts me at the corner.

Also, I don't know what do you mean by neutral game.

After wasting away hours trying to train with Chun Li I've come to the conclusion she sucks balls. Her vskill does anyway. Gonna have to find someone else to waste my time with.

Now that the servers are working nicely, this game is waaaay too good.

Feels so much better to play than SF4 IMO. So much less bullshit.

She's currently considered to be a top 2 character 🤐

I own this stick and it still works pretty good. Is it worth upgrading to the new sticks? How are they improved? thanks!

latest
I always hated that one. The stick felt so restricted.

She might be the best character in the game lol
