I own this stick and it still works pretty good. Is it worth upgrading to the new sticks? How are they improved? thanks!

I own the same one it does the job for me.

After wasting away hours trying to train with Chun Li I've come to the conclusion she sucks balls. Her vskill does anyway. Gonna have to find someone else to waste my time with.

:O Justin Wong says she is pretty top tier. Don't know nothing about tiers or fighting but like her design and playstyle.
Where you from Jett?

At first: ''man I suck with her, Ryu feels way better...''

now : '' god damn those legs are good!''

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I usually use shoryuken but as I said it has other problems and eventually puts me at the corner.

Also, I don't know what do you mean by neutral game.

Sorry, by neutral game, I mean when you are both standing and no one has any advantage. This is the time where you are throwing out your good normals trying to out-poke them, or when you get more technical, punishing their whiffed normal attacks. You don't want to just be constantly backing away from everyone and letting them come in on you.

But before that, you have to basically force people to not randomly jump at you, and that's where anti-air training comes in. Once you convince them that jumping isn't a good idea, then you have to try and maintain a proper distance against them and not let them poke you.

I'd offer more specific help, but I haven't even touched Ken in this game yet, so I don't really know what he does well

This game man.. I haven't won a single online match yet. Once I am in the corner it's game over, I get obliterated. It's frustrating in a way, but somehow I still wanna jump into another match. I feel like the worst SF player of all time lol

It's always read 3.99-4.00ms. Assumed that was normal...

Whats the standard Input latency for a controller?

I don't know about for other controllers, but the DS4's polling over USB is set to 250Hz I believe? (Which leads to 4ms..)

Funny enough, I'm using it wirelessly, and DS4Windows says my delay is 1.8ms.

Don't feel bad. Took me awhile to get going. Watch some replays of matches and take notes and then just try to capitalize on that.

I'm not even attempting online now. Training mode only.

All my normals with rashid by my friends Nash who is a rush down Nash. Every time I hit a button on wake up I get counter hit. :( tried doing V-reversal and blocking those work but I want to do damage. Any tips on how to avoid rush down people like that? Or do I just need to block and pray he doesn't do a light punch to a grab so I can tech it. :<

What..shes really good. What are you doing with her? You should use her vskill sparingly as it will get punished.

If it makes you feel any better. I am already the worst SF player ever.. :( Get in line bruh

Two hours in, trying to learn Ryu. Won 10 matches, lost more than that. I get flustered and lose my focus. I also find myself trying to land the same combo over and over. Gotta change that.

3rd match I quit out of before the intros were finished. Running at like 20fps or some shit. Wtf is going on today? My setup says 4-5 connections only. Is it just me? I'm resetting my router.... But I'm not hopeful as the rest of my internet was working fine.

Since people are making threads about every negative thing about SF5, can someone make a thread about something positive?

Like the 9 minute character tutorial series they've started on their youtube channel?

Ryu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZGql2q-G1k
Chun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiWzd5cd2fk
And, obviously more to come.

Some folks have complained that the game gives you no guidance on how to play.
It looks like Capcom actually had something in mind.
That's nice, better if it would be on the game to practice the combos.

Had an 8 winning streak with Ryu, not learned one single combo with him, just played some Fundamentals Fighter V: Spacing Edition.

Was fun until a quite good Chun Li just destroyed me. I have met at least 3-4 good Chun's, they each played VERY differently. She and Ryu is glued to top tier, I am sure about that one. And the DAMAGE. Just look at the damage.

Don't press buttons while you're waking up. If you think your friend will try to press buttons on you in that situation, try an EX spinning mixer. Otherwise, block and look for a safe way out.

Just you dude? because every match I've played in today and it's been double digits has been flawless.

Once of the biggest killers of your flow is when you start getting combo-ed. Trying to stay in the moment ans assess any openings and viable exits is key to good play.

I'm still learning it too.

Updates just posted.
What’s up World Warriors!

As many of you know, there were some issues with the Street Fighter V servers but we’re happy to report that the majority of those issues have now been resolved.

That said, we know there is still a lot left to optimize and not everyone’s experience has been the same so I’ll be checking in each day here to give everyone an update on how things are progressing. Hit the jump for a few updates we’ve made over the past 24-48 hours and a look at some of the issues we are aiming to resolve.

Matchmaking

Matchmaking is now working as intended and users should be able to find online matches without much of a wait in both Ranked and Casual mode.

Battle Lounge

Playing in the same Battle Lounge for a set period of time renders players unable to participate in the lounge or matches. Many of the other issues with Battle Lounge have been resolved and users should be able to invite other players to their lounge. The team is still looking at this mode very closely and will continue to make improvements as we move into the weekend time frame.

Match Results

Some users have reported that their match results are not being sent to the server. In most cases, this is more or less a UI bug and your results along with your rewards will still be credited to your account.

If you are unsure if your match was recorded, check your battle log and if the match appears there, it will also be recorded on the server.

Replay Search

Some of the more recent replay data won’t be available immediately when searching the replay database but the team is working on making those replays available as soon as possible.

All of your personal replays are immediately available by going through your fighter profile.

Other issues being addressed:

Some user names don’t show up in Rival Search.
Some user names don’t display properly on battle results screen.
Ranking functionality isn’t working properly on the CFN.
That’s it for today! Thanks so much for being patient with us thus far and we really appreciate not only all the feedback you have given us, but also the words of support as our server team has been working endlessly to bring everyone the best online experience possible! Thanks again and please keep the feedback coming!

If you want to report issues you’re having with Street Fighter V, please leave a comment here or tweet at @SFVServer. We’ll be monitoring all feedback and addressing as many issues as we can in a timely manner.

I just joined the SFV club boys.

I just grabbed this game and a Hori fighting stick mini 4.

I am a complete noob at fighting games and never played on a stick, good times ahead I imagine :P

From the latest update:

"Playing in the same Battle Lounge for a set period of time renders players unable to participate in the lounge or matches."

What the actual fuck.

I have that stick, bought it used so it feels jank. Need a hori pad or swanky stick to try but I am the most comfortable with the Dualshock 4.

I am breaking my head trying to do CA with Ryu. I can't reproduce the same movement in such fast succesion fast enough to do it.
