I just played my first rounds online and lost all like 7-8 of them. The game is fun when the match is close, but it isn't putting me up against other absolute noobs for some reason.

Everyone's starting at low points since the game just came out. It'll equalize over time.

Good game, man! Which character did you play as? I want to see the replay!

I was Ken and you were Laura, and I think we played on the India stage. I think I can still save the replay.

EDIT: I'll upload it and PM you.

I just joined the SFV club boys.

I just grabbed this game and a Hori fighting stick mini 4.

I am a complete noob at fighting games and never played on a stick, good times ahead I imagine :P

I wish you had not chosen that stick out of all the sticks you could have chosen. It's absolute trash, but maybe you won't notice. Still, hope you have fun and don't get discouraged, losses are the bricks on the road to mastery.

What is with the matchmaking? I understand the game is new so people are ranking by why do I have to play every match against someone 1000+ more lp than me. Feels cruel at least keep under 1000 differential.
Now I'm back down to 0 after getting to 200

Hmm... Capcom says matchmaking should be fixed now but its not for me :(

I'm playing around with my router settings (why not?) and I'm stuck on NAT type 2 which has been fine for everything else. Without derailing this thread, is anyone else on NAT2 and getting games fine? I'm trying to get it set to NAT1 but no online tutorial works so far...

Has anyone here beaten HELL survival mode? I want to know if the title you get is character specific? Also fuck how do I beat this mode in HELL difficulty easily with R. Mika? I thought maybe spamming her body splash would work but eventually the CPU catches on in later levels.

did you do hard?! how!?!??

I figured that would be it. I haven't felt so out of my element for a long time playing a video game.

Sorry, by neutral game, I mean when you are both standing and no one has any advantage. This is the time where you are throwing out your good normals trying to out-poke them, or when you get more technical, punishing their whiffed normal attacks. You don't want to just be constantly backing away from everyone and letting them come in on you.

But before that, you have to basically force people to not randomly jump at you, and that's where anti-air training comes in. Once you convince them that jumping isn't a good idea, then you have to try and maintain a proper distance against them and not let them poke you.

I'd offer more specific help, but I haven't even touched Ken in this game yet, so I don't really know what he does well
Thank you for the detailed reply, you've already helped me a lot. It looks like I have lots of work to do which is great since it means many more hours of playing this awesome game :)

Again, thanks.

After wasting away hours trying to train with Chun Li I've come to the conclusion she sucks balls. Her vskill does anyway. Gonna have to find someone else to waste my time with.
Have you seen that bafael video of her? She's better than you think. Her v skill is definitely worse than some tho.

Battle Lounge

Playing in the same Battle Lounge for a set period of time renders players unable to participate in the lounge or matches. Many of the other issues with Battle Lounge have been resolved and users should be able to invite other players to their lounge. The team is still looking at this mode very closely and will continue to make improvements as we move into the weekend time frame.

Bullshit this is working as intended. I've no doubt the reason it's limited to two players is because they KNOW it's broken and it would only be even more fucked up with more players.

What..shes really good. What are you doing with her? You should use her vskill sparingly as it will get punished.

I guess I was trying to hit some dem sweet justin WONG combos. I used her in 3S which is nothing but poke poke poke. I guess that's the way she's supposed to be played in this game too, but that's not really much fun. Her combos are alsy not really easy to link at all. Maybe Chunners isn't meant for a newb. I think I'm just gonna have to try another character.

I am breaking my head trying to do CA with Ryu. I can't reproduce the same movement in such fast succesion fast enough to do it.
360/ds4 gamepad sticks

Are you monitoring your inputs in training mode? If not make sure you're doing the motions accurately. If you aren't, slow it down a little. You don't have to do it lightning quick to get the move to come out.

Have you tried using the d-pad? (Am I understanding correctly that you are using the analog stick?)

Played "as intended" Street Fighter is a game that will keep you occupied without need for another game for months, if not years. I pretty much just play Street Fighter and Souls now. Between the two, I'm never wanting for games and I somehow have a ton more money at the end of the month, lol.

9 win streak
11 counting the 2 casuals
:p

cant beat my russian power flowchart kens!

edit: make that 10 win streak ^_^

I own this stick and it still works pretty good. Is it worth upgrading to the new sticks? How are they improved? thanks!

latest

Swap the buttons, stat. The ones that come with it are totally ass. I still need to get the stick itself changed, any recommendations?

I have monitoring on, but wasn't checking it properly because my mental strenght is depleted. I will be checking it more and learning from it tomorrow.

Yes you are. I don't like dpad as much as analog stick - already tried it out.
Only problem I have and will be looking in tomorrow is that jump - stick up - is really sensitive.

Try using the DS4 DPad. It takes a lot of practice to do the QCs with the sticks.

Okay. Will try that. I am still deciding whether to use ds4 or wired 360 as main tool of trade.

How things generally running for you guys? I try to monitor this thread and send feedback to dev team but it moves pretty quick. We do check @SFVServer often so please send feedback there if you have it.

I played a bunch of ranked and battle lounge matches last night with no issues but I do know not everyone has the same experience. More details on the issues you guys are having the better!

Every once in a while I get a match that doesn't send data to the server (usually when I win :( ) but otherwise things have been flawless since all that stuff on launch day.

I'm still getting really slow matchmaking (like, 5+ minutes per match if I'm lucky). Any suggestions on what to check on my end?

been doing V-Trigger into air spinning piledriver in training mode, only EX-spinning works right? I cant connect with any normal spinning piledriver after v-trigger

I haven't had any issues. Question: did you guys make changes to the netcode after Beta 4? Because I feel like matches are generally smoother now.

Oh, you know what? I don't know if this counts, but me and a lot of other training mode monkeys have noticed that training mode settings aren't saved between matches. It's incredibly frustrating to have to set all of your training mode settings after every single match. Nothing is saved.

I know this might sound strange but any of you have weird graphics on the PS4 version?

For example, I'm playing with Ryu and everything is fine except the character. He looks all "crushed" with what appears to be a lot of little dark lines appearing all over him. I'm sorry I can't show a picture, don't have any capture equipment.

Am I missing something? Some update? Or am I just imagining things?
