Man Dhalsim seems so much more aggressive in this game. He has the tools to go in and mix you up whereas in SFIV it seems like everyone was using everything to keepaway to get back to the range where he dictated the match. Art's Sim is looking really amazing watching this NLBC archive. I have to say I feel like the fighting design in this game is fucking brilliant.

Even watching Bison he's so much more aggressive compared to SFIV, his tools are designed to pressure you not to escape from pressure. He has a fast teleport forward now instead of a teleport to get away. His head stomp is better to use as a mixup than something to annoy with from far away.

Was feeling hot playing a decent mid-range game with Vega until tonight.... just absolutely annihilated by rushdown Karin, Nash and Cammys :( Getting my Chun Li stick tomorrow, hope the relearning to play with a stick isn't too rough.

Problem is your nerves get shot after 25 because the CPU finally decides to wake up.

There are two things that need to be done to make survival mode not shit:

-First, every match should give back SOME life. Give you more of an incentive of using the other buffs. It honestly seems like no thought was put into this mode, other than annoying you into spending real money at the store.
-Secondly, Normal mode should start at level 10, Hard mode should start at level 30, and Hell at level 50. And these should be unlocked as you progress from the first difficulty, Easy. This is like the bare minimum shit that should be done. The way it's set up is just an awful, unfun grind.

That definitely happens and you start to just play careless because the first 27 matches are rollovers.

I finally got over the hump by just not respecting anyone and bum rushing Bison.

I tried that. It almost worked. Then he just activated v-trigger, did some majestic combo and ertgsegfdsgfdgtgj954gj9t4gj9re8ghj9fe8gu8gh9fdgfdgd

Why the hell am I playing people with 1700 LP when I have barely 200? What's the point of leagues if you're not going to keep it contained?

MM based on LP is totally fucked right now. Even if the matches working, there's nothing fun about fighting someone way above/below you in a ranked setting.

Found it but see none of his invites there despite him sending many. Bizarre.

Might have to send a few invites, or maybe try making the room yourself and sending the invites. I haven't had any trouble with it recently, but it seems like it's person to person.

Art is streaming right now, he just lost a 50 win streak to a Nash.

Lol yea its RNG. I lost like 2 or 3 times on fight 29 and wanted to end my life. I play Necalli so when I got to Bison I just neutral jumped the fuck out of him and used all my meter on EX stomps which chipped a lot of his life away and on the last one he actually got hit by hit. Then I mixed up a throw and then command grab and lit up a cigar. It felt good.

Dhalsim wrecks me in survival... I just can't understand him but wow he is boss compared to before

Just played a casual against a decent Dhalism, he is so different than IV, hard to read...had to keep running into him with Ken because his stupid floaty flame and reach

Not even going to do any survival besides easy. Maybe normal. Dont really care about colors.

Any crazy shenanigans on normal?

Personally I think every survival mode should just be 10 levels each with consistent CPU difficulties throughout. I'm honestly surprised people can be bothered to slog through 50-100 levels.

Went up against a silver fang with my rookie ass ryu. Was able to take the first round fairly competently. Second round he started getting a little more aggressive and nudged me out. Third round was pretty close but sadly lost it. Pretty fun match all in all.

Ya'll crazy, 25 - 30 on normal is manageable when you know it's coming.

The real kicker is the cpu starts playing like that on hard on level 15.

man, Best Buy doesn't sell any Mad Catz fight sticks right now? wanted to earn some points with them. might just buy from Amazon. need to invest in a PS4 stick for all the fighters on the PS4 now. i should sell my old PS3 sticks.

Just picked up the game today and damn, I'm the worst of the worst. Just gonna push along and hope for the best. Having a lot of fun but damn am I bad. I'll get good some day.
I felt like I lost 90% of my first like 50 matches but I kept working at and trying to slow myself down and focus on normal attacks mostly and also try to improve my defense. Then all of a sudden I've been getting wins and still losing against good players but at least putting up a fight against them.

I'm awful, but I feel like reading guides online just make me do worse. Are there any good guides that just focus on basic fundamentals? I'm using Ken and all everything I've found just get into terminology and minutiae that's not really helpful to me at all at this point.

Man, I was so much more willing to deal with lag in 4 than in this. Granted, good connections are great, but the teleporting bullshit might actually be driving me nuts.

The worst thing is that you can still get screwed over by the random powerups at the end of the round. Lose a bunch of health in round 29 and just get Health Regeneration: Low? Tough Luck.

This is very true.

The hell am I gonna do with a base level Defense Up when the CPU is playing at pro level?

My problem is his hit box when crouching is like chun Li with how tiny it is. Being a cammy player I tend to miss alot of my overhead attacks

SFV has PS3 legacy support, but I'd honestly just invest in a PS4 stick if you plan on playing multiple fighters. Most of these games don't use the lab zero driver efficiently so it'll just save you a headache in the long run.

Everythings on backorder :(

I'm loving Rashid, even if he gets outranged by quite a bit of the cast.
My first actual attempt at improving in Street Fighter and at the very least I'm learning from my mistakes. Was doing far too many unsafe things at first and bunny hopping. Starting to get the hang of it.

yea, was thinking of using PS3 stick for SFV but then i got some other PS4 fighters recently and haven't played them cuz no stick support.

Everythings on backorder :(

i think i'll preorder from Newegg for now. no tax at least.

For people getting bodied try playing some casual matches. I noticed more new players in casual mode than ranked. Ranked has stiff competition IMO.

I have also observed that the ranked matchmaking is not considering rank.

I am bronze but get matched with rookies and silvers.

They need to fix this shit asap, as having the newbies get destroyed by higher ranks only makes them give up on the game. Leagues must work in a way the skill level separates players and everyone can win some matches on their leagues.

Lol, it does tend to that. I think most people shouldn't have that much trouble clearing it with their main though, I thought vanilla Seth and Gill were much tougher.

wait wait wait, I know I don't get any fight money for losing a ranked match, but I only get 50 fight money for winning a match?

Only 2000 wins to buy a character

i found a way to use a 360 stick though a adapter and the Legacy thing

still putting it to the test though

I bought a Titan One so I can play KI with my PS4 stick. I've tried using a PS3 stick on PS4 with the Titan One and it works, but runs into some weird verification thing every 10 minutes where I have to unplug/plug in.
