I think Chun, Ryu, and Dhalsim are very very strong right now. Karin, Nash, and Mika seem pretty balanced thus far. I don't know what to think about Necalli, FANG, or Rashid yet, because I haven't seen enough of them. Laura needs a little help, and so does Birdie. Zangief is Zangief: it's either a blowout in his favor or he gets slaughtered, depending on the player. People are definitely sleeping on Vega and Bison.

Necalli and Sim on the stream last night looked scary as shit.

Have to say that i've been using Guile in every version of SF, but Nash can be played so aggressively and give so much pressure with his MK Sonic Scythe and Moonsault Slash that i'm actually having to think about using Guile when he eventually comes out. And his super is actually not ass and connects pretty quick for the most part

7 wins in a row since I started here, but holy hell is it taking forever to get somewhere. Matches don't connect for s good 3 or 4 minutes and most have some sort of roll back going on despite the settings I have in place. Ugh.

Messing around in training with my PS3 stick. DS4 turns off. Turn back on and the PS3 stick needs to be found again. Can only do that from the main menu.

Fuck all of that, time for a PS4 stick.

A nuisance that my USB arcade stick won't work on the new system because... reasons.

Go to power saving mode and turn off that auto power off on DS4. First thing I did when I got the game.

ggs Novum Veritas!

I'd like to give you some tips on your play:

- Just like the previous advice you got, don't use hurricane kicks as an opener or to close in on your opponent. They can be punished when they see it coming (with a dp) or when they block it). Try to combo it off from a BnB or another move (see next tip)

- Learn the BnB's, they are the starters for Ken's specials as well.
back+mp -> hp -> anything (i.e. fb, dp or hurricane kicks!)
st.mk -> st.hk -> dp

- Try to use your V-Trigger more. If you see that gauge blinking, you might as well activate it for stronger moves and new options for you to approach and punish opponents

- Don't try to sweep (cr.hk) when you are too close, because they can be punished if an opponent is blocking it. Sweeps have a lot of recovery frames, meaning they can easily be punished if they are whiffed or blocked. From that same distance you might be better off using cr.mk -> fb.

- I'm glad you were also using throws, especially when were next to eachother. Try to mix it up by using V-Skill into throw, or walk up and cr.lp and then throw immediately afterwards (tick throw).

- Learn the pokes as well, they are really important to gauging the distance and delivering basic dmg when people don't know their footsies well.
cr.mp is a very good one and you can combo it into back+st.mp -> st.hp -> anything.

Hope this is useful!

I'm going to be mad if Capcom patches survival to make it less easy. I've slogged through easy and am about halfway through normal.

If they do they better retroactively give us FM for doing survival with alternate costumes. Lol

i keep losing on stage 27-29 on normal survival

i'm such a scrub ; _ ;

No you're not. The game is super cheap about those fights. Combine this with a low HP recovery option and it's even worse.

I'm cheaping out on these battle by doing a jumping hard kick then hard kick sweep over and over. You have to adjust your timing to account for openings and prey that the CPU doesn't hit you with a crazy combo that takes 50% or more health from you.

Anyone has good videos for Ken BnB?
I really need to learn some, to get more damage out of my gameplay.

Crouching medium punch into his target combo (back medium punch, heavy punch) and then canceled into DP or Tatsu nets you 270 odd damage and is a doddle to pull off. Ending in Tatsu deals more stun and you can buffer it starting on the heavy punch of the target combo (so crouch medium punch, back medium punch, down heavy punch, heavy Tatsu) with just the link from crouch to back medium punch being the part requiring timing. But that gives you time to confirm and after 20 mins of trying this training yesterday was nailing it 99% off the time.

Thank you for the BnB beginner tips, I need to muscle memory them and connect them then and GGs.

Okay I thought so, easily punishable. I really need to remember using V-trigger more often. I always forgetting it.
Okay so more cr. lk or cr.mk, got it.

Most damaging meterless is b. MP -> SP -> Strong Tatsu

With meter go MK -> SK -> ex tatsu. You can alternate with reppa

If your execution feels good try exchanging the ex tatsu with super that's a guaranteed 40%

SFV [OT2] Two minutes, ill finish loading you in two minutes!

Wait, the preorder bonus? So if I beat Normal with Chun I can get sexy Chun?

Nah. You gotta beat a survival mode for a color for a specific costume. So if you have Chun's pre order costume you gotta be survival with each costume to unlock the various colors.
