GGs sneakers, nice Necali man...very strong pressure, you should use him command throw more, you'll kill up close...

It's tough. U have to dash with Necalli, even for the command grab. He's really tough to play at higher levels. Footsies seem to b everything.

Edit: hit me up later. Our sets teach me a lot. I'm always down to play man.

Does anybody have any tips on how to improve throw teching? It's the main downside in my game and I'm losing to a bunch of Ken's because of it.

Well his normals are definitely good, u keep stuffing a lot of my stuff, just got a tad predicable with your strings as the matches went on. More over heads and dash up and throw more often, Necalli dash is amazing, his medium buttons are also superior to a lot of the cast. He's pretty well balanced too, you can sit back and poke with him if you want just be ready to anti air.

You're not going crazy enough on him. This is Birdie's worst matchup.

Once you corner him, his options are incredibly limited and you should be able to mix him up multiple times. Birdie is a ranged grappler - his normals are designed to push you out and keep you away to where his specials work.

Meanwhile, I feel the opposite way, playing as Birdie against Mika.
Maybe I'm just not used to fighting him then. I'll give those a try, thanks!

Basically, when I see Mika, I pretty much expect to lose. She just has to get me down once, and then I'm pretty much boned for the whole round, unless I land a lot of lucky grabs or something.

Mika is scary as fuck, especially in the corner. I just lame it out super hard and run the hell away.

Start playing a ranked match. Hit a Rashid with a 26 game win streak. I obliterate him, and I already know what I'd be getting for my troubles.

40002. It's my first ragequit!

Does anyone know how replays work?
Does every single match you play get recorded and uploaded automatically? Or is it only every so often, and you have to do something manually like in SFIV?

Lost a level 29 survivor normal. Fuck

I lost at stage 27 on normal last night. Feels bad mang...
Even had a match request pending as I was KOd. Felt so stupid not to accept it.

Someone else in this thread gave me this potentially lifesaving tip:
Keep match request on and keep an eye on the notification at the bottom of the screen for when you need to GTFO of your current survival run! Once you've finished the online match, it'll continue from the stage you were on.

Are there any exploits people are using online?

Just had a match that suspiciously became unplayable every time I had the advantage in the fight and then all of a sudden my connection was perfect again and I had lost the fight. My connection has never been that bad any other time and the fight finished out so I didn't disconnect.

Probably just a lagswitch.

I feel like just going super fundamental and learning my pokes, spacing, defense and execution. =x I feel like I'm jumping ahead of myself.

Fundies will carry you far in fighting games in general. Sometimes bullshit rules out, but SFV more than many other SF games rewards you for your work.

Combos are a hell of a lot easier when you have that shit down too.

It's hard to know your "place" in games like this. You see people doing crazy stuff and you go "I can do that too!" and you try it and its like both your hands turned into claws with no thumbs and pillow nubs trying to hit buttons. ><

Oh I tried to do some crazy combos too! Found some low ranked dudes pulling off some mad shit.

But a few empty jumps, sweeps, and mind games later, and they break just like the rest of them.

time heals all claws

seriously, just keep grinding it out. It's so weird how stuff that was making me miserable in training eventually just clicked and comes out completely naturally during fights now.

I kind of miss the beta days because people use to do unsafe shit all the time like Karin's air flippy thing or Vega's rolling attack like it was free. I now know the frame data for those moves and how I can punish them now but those guys never use those moves anymore.

Is there a way to save the training settings?
Nope. All you can do is set up the shortcut options in the menu.

I think I fought you earlier in a ryu mirror. If so ggs.

It might help to discuss your training habits.

For example, right now, I spend a day running through different character archtypes. Like, yesterday was Ryu and Ken. Today is Mika, Gief, and Laura. I'll spend some time practicing moves and the like, and then maybe take a match to casuals and see how it plays out against a real person.

Usually goes bad, but it helps to figure out what I'm doing wrong in regards to the character or if it's a problem with how I play.
