Street Fighter V |OTVII| New Generation - Connection To Haters Was Lost

I would honestly be okay if FANG remains the z-tier joke character for the entire life of the game. I'm sorry, he's just a dumb character design and it's not like there's some deep-seated character loyalty you can ascribe anyone having with him.

Out of the 4 newcomers at the release of SF5, FANG is the only one who's legit low tier, and hasn't really improved.

Maybe Capcom really does think of him as a joke character.

Testing Kolin online, losing every single match ;( Maybe I should stick to Sim/Juri, lol.

Nah, keep at it.

I'm getting more loses with Laura than wins, I'm going to look into higher level play and see what better players do then grind it out.

Once I'm as comfortable with her as I am with Cammy I'll move on to Kolin, really curious to find out who the last DLC character is based on the silhouette.

I think FANG is dope is as hell and due for some buffs. I feel like he might be one of those guys with unconventional fighting styles, like Sim, who you kinda have to be careful when you balance them because you can run the risk of making them practically impossible to fight if you make them too strong. But there's no reason why he shouldn't be at least a solid midtier in this cast. Having a greater variety of viable playstyles can only be a good thing.

FANG is cool. Interesting moveset, great design and he was fantastic in the story. Shame he isn't better.

Also, knowing exactly when somethings coming as Kolin feels great.

Ohhhh okay, I always think it will cross up. Does is it hit when you're crouching?
It does hit when you crouch, main thing you need to look out for is when you walk under Head Stomp before Bison does EXDR, then you'd need to block in the other direction(ie keep walking). Otherwise, just hold back and if he crosses you up it will whiff.

No Mago, Wong, Punk or Shine in top 16.

Buff Karin.

Rashid needs some damage buff too. I realized how weak is his damage after watching Oil King and Jon B yesterday, it was like one hit from Gief or Rog do more damage than 2 combos from Rashid.

That's because Raishid is way more mobile than both those characters. He's already ridiculous with the white life change.

Who will she be using, if not Chun?

Yeah Cammy seems like a safe bet. Though I'd like her to pick someone else because I feel like her playstyle and K-Brad's playstyle are pretty similar.

I'd actually like to see Taylor as a military commando grappler, playing like a combination of Clark and Ralf from KOF. He's the most prominent NPC in the game now that Kolin is playable. A small part of me even thinks that the next silhouette might be him (wearing Sambo gloves and a new uniform).

She might be waiting for a patch.

But I think it's better to just get a secondary if your character can't work against everyone. Du does it. It's a smart way to cover your bases.

Yeah, but it's also not as easy as you make it sound here. Not everyone, I'm sure even among top players, has the ability to focus their style towards more than a single character. There's also the matter of time, where you have to think about whether it's best to spend the time to specialize with a single character, or possibly be less efficient with that single character with the benefit of having another character be at their level.

It's especially hard when it comes to "character specialist" type players to dedicate time to a secondary, or even have the will to do so. In most cases, you won't see Dhalsim or Zangief mains play a second character, for example.

I don't think you realize how many times Ricki changed characters in SF4 to follow the tier list lol

Oh, I wasn't talking about Ricki particularly, but just the notion of getting a secondary, in general, in competitive play. Though, switching characters completely is very different from juggling two or more characters simultaneously to bust them out depending on your opponent in a tournament.

There's also the fact that certain games are easier to have secondaries than others. I don't know where SFV ranks there because I don't have enough competitive FG experience but, like, you wouldn't see someone play more than one race in StarCraft II because it would be completely counter-productive.

Didn't mean to make it sound easy, but yeah, it's not for everyone.

Ricki said st the start of patch season that she'd make Chun work. She flipped that real quick.

On the other hand I wish Go1 would just stick to Chun. His Guile is booty and he was cutting it real close with Smug.

SFV is not mature enough yet, so I kind of understand why some players want to focus on one character. It it keeps up after another year, then I'll definitely have to question the hesitation. There is no way SF's roster has complexity or variety than games like GG, BB, KI, or Melee
yes, i said it
. In those games, it's not unusual for top players to use more than one character and even dual main.

I remember how Ricki said Chun was stronger than ever just after S2 launched. It was really funny how Chun players forgot how much they relied on instant air leg ad infinitum to fuck with the opponents. Not to mention if they also nerfed the AA light kick.

I really hope Xian takes it with Ibuki. That could actually change how people look at the game.

In the west she is being underestimated but yesterday the commentators were saying that some top japanese players already have ibuki at top 3.

Japan has Ibuki and Gief as top5.
I don't know man. I know they said it on stream yesterday and I knew about Gief, but I've been looking at their tierlists all the time and Ibuki would have to have happened very recently.

Now it's top 3? Haha

Since S2 started, people have been saying Ibuki was crazy. It's the reason Fuudo dabbled with her, Marn switched to her, and Xian switched to her.

I know that. She's good.

Doesn't change the fact that until yester, she barely appeared on any list.

Really shitty of Kotaku to not mention the handshake at the end and that rivalries are solved in the game. But what am I expecting from them.

You guys need to play more multi character games like KoF or CvS2. GG is the only game I don't recommend and avoid practicing 2 characters since they're sometimes so different, you feel like you're playing a different game.

I started playing KOF but I just don't have the time to get mediocre at it. i still mash around in it from time to time.

But yeah, the reason I buy and drop GG games is because everyone is too different. Might go back for Rev 2 though.
