Now this Mika wasn't getting the hint, but this move alone means that this is an MU Mika definitely does not have the advantage in (though, playing both characters, I knew that going into S2). The #1 complaint Balrogs had against Mika was that they had no defensive options once they're trapped in the blender (like that's different than most of the cast), but Balrog actually has a very good one.
Something I hadn't thought about before, but that I think might be true, is that Mika's meaty game can be pretty nebulous for her compared to the proper pressure of other characters. That's probably intentional, so that a KD from her doesn't mean that you're not going to have your turn for a long while, and instead revolves around the command grab guessing game. It's why KDR > Dash off of a Brimstone leaves her only at +2, and stuff like that.
The side effect of this is that using TAP liberally is an actual, legitimate tool vs. Mika. And it's kinda silly. I wasn't even using it at clear times I should have in that match (and I was mainly focusing on using it all the time), since I just came across this rare Mika in Ranked and I wanted to experiment with it. But man, if I had actually been playing efficiently there, it would have been even worse for her.
When even Laura players agree that Mika isn't as strong as Laura, when S1 Mika players migrated en mass to Laura and that is still the case, and when a bunch of notable top players are saying Laura is top 5, I wonder what makes you place Laura where she is.
Okay, this has happened too many times to me for me to just ignore it. FAT says this about Balrog's TAP:

Had a chance to meet up with Markman and Katsuhiro Harada during a local fighting games event here in Peru, both cool guys and I was actually able to speak a little bit with Harada... in Japanese. I was nervous af lol. I told Harada that as a mainly Street Fighter player myself, I was looking forward to making the jump into Tekken now that Akuma will be playable.

Next weekWhen is Kolin arriving? Im thinking I will prob only get to mess around with her for a day or 2 before the inevidable break from this game I will be taking due to some single player games I actually want to play finally coming out (horizon > mass effect 4 > persona 5).

For reals? So this means that the "loading" time is a UI animation? So by speeding up the UI framerate the animation completes faster?
I always suspected the long loading times were related to server sync, was totally wrong then.

That means I get 1 night to play Kolin before Horizon is out and i prob say "see ya" to SFV for a couple of months. I imagine I will simply do her trials / story and survival then maybe play about in training mode for a bit. By the time I come back it will be known if she is good or not.
I like the look of her but like many characters I am not sure her play style will suit me. As much as I never liked graplers when I was younger I now seem to find fireball chars boring and characters like Mika lots of fun.

I actually liked how it looked in the Early Alpha build, though Bustling Side Street still looks nice now.Except for Bustling Side Street. The Neon Lights is an overkill.

I see Daigo in that Final Round roster and thinking of the type of body bag he's going to be sent back in.I need to see a good akuma vs. a good guile. That matchup feels absolutely impossible to me.
