Street Fighter X Tekken E3 Trailer and Info

I got to play this a bit yesterday. It just so happens that Maximilian and Mike Ross were there, so I took a video of one of their matches. Not going to spoil anything, but let's just say that someone is most undeniably the best. Also, I realized how awkward it can be to introduce yourself to someone with your GAF handle. Hah. Nice to meet you, Max!

Since you were there I have to ask, did Mike Ross really body Marn? Or was it Marn taking down Mike Ross?

I didn't see Marn and Mike play any matches, in fact I didn't see Marn at all. Combofiend was there, as well as some other people but I only saw Mike and Max playing. Also, Max bodied me. Bad.

So, are the chains in this game character specific and movelisted like SF Target Combos/Tekken chains, or is there a VS style universal light medium hard progression?

I believe it's vs-style magic series chains. Mike Ross said L -> M -> H -> H naturally combos, and the second hard attack is a launcher that tags in your buddy.

I assume it's different for Tekken characters, as they only have 4 attack buttons.

Huh.

I thought Tekken characters had all 6, and the "4 button" comments were just referring to light and medium corresponding to the left and right attacks from Tekken, with additional hard attacks.

You're right, the 4 button system is so Tekken players can easily have an entry point into the game before moving into combo's with the other buttons.

I really don't want to see the Tekken chars limited to 4 buttons.

I don't mind relearning SF-style Asuka. I just hope they get some "specials" that have real differences based on the button, like some SF specials.

You can choose between 4 and 6.

I want only 4 but if you're handicaped this way then fuck you capcom. :(

Very shocked if Dhalsim is included when this game seems to be more about close range fighting and finding set ups for damaging combo's. Also really looking forward to seeing Lili with her ridiculous fighting style animations, should look really elegant.

Long-range chain combos! I'm already waiting in line for this one, but if Dhalsim makes it in, that's just icing on the cake for me.

PART TWO

Julia is in that makes me happy, just waiting to see some good ol bryan fury now.

No clue who I'll use from the street fighter side. We all know Q will never be in it or Oro. *although they both would actually work in this juggle type of game*

SHENANIGANS

I love where this game is headed.

Lol Guile mad

This game seems like the perfect middle ground between SFIV and MvC3. The positive impressions have me hyped. It looks like an absolute blast to play.

There will probably be tons of videos online soon. Vaile, Mike Ross, and Combofiend were all playing, and plenty of people were taking videos. Got to play a couple matches against Vaile. I managed to take a round. Yay! Also, Kazuya is awesome. I wish I was messing with him earlier, instead of the last ten minutes. I love this game so much, and everyone there seemed really hype on it.

E3 Q&A With Sven:

• Capcom said their robust fighting game lineup in the future will of course include Street Fighter (likely referring to SFxT), but it will also include other franchises as well. This was the response when asked about Darkstalkers. Definitely doesn't confirm a Darkstalkers game, but other franchises are definitely coming for their fighting game lineups.

• Christian said Capcom isn't likely to continue the Street Fighter 3 series, a 4th Strike, as SF4 has been the focus, but he'll never say never. He did say again, Capcom has a very robust fighting game lineup planned, though.

• Svensson said he hit various forums a lot for what they ended up putting in Street Fighter 3 Online Edition. Citing again that your feedback DOES matter.

• SF3 OE on the PC hasn't been ruled out, but Svensson said the specific challenge there is overcoming the pirating on that platform, as people have been playing it for free for a long time.

• Svensson said he couldn't talk about GGPO being in SFxT right now, but added Ono has some things to talk about networking with SFxT later on down the line.

• GGPO implementation is a case-by-case basis, but at the end of the day it's the producer's call. GGPO needs to be a consideration from the start of development to be implemented properly, it's not just a copy and paste code implementation.

• Sven said again that MvC3 didn't have some of the same features as the SF4 series cause they can't copy and paste code over, it has to be rewritten.

• No new fighting games right now for the Wii said by Sven, sorry guys.

• It's possible they could do a poll on Capcom-Unity in the future for costume designs for SFxT.

• Asked about the quality of the movies, Capcom said the movies are not 100% in their control, because they license out their stuff, but a lot of the movie development is in the hands of the production companies they sign over to the rights to.

• Sven said there will be more stuff that appeals to the fans for live action stuff, similar to Street Fighter Legacy. There's been discussion about it internally.

Ono Mentioning a secret feature for Vita Version:

The PlayStation Vita prototype build of the game uses almost the exact same model and bone data as the PS3 version, Ono revealed. The only differences are in resolution.

Many of the other PlayStation Vita games shown at E3 were said to be launch titles for the system. Capcom would make no such announcement for the Vita version of SF x Tekken for two reasons. First, the Vita version has not reached the state where it is satisfactory as a fighting game. Second, it does not yet have the special feature that will be shown (hopefully) at TGS.

Outside of Cole, Capcom announced four new SF x Tekken characters at E3, but few were surprised because the identities had been guessed from the four teaser videos that had been released in the weeks prior to the show. Ono promised another major announcement for San Diego's Comic Con event, but this time he promised that the teaser video would be extremely tough. He suggested that players attempt to guess the announcement by going through the video frame by frame.

I'm guessing maybe cross platform play between PS3 and Vita?

Ono 's been answering a bunch of questions on Twitter today (including one from me) about SFxT. Here's some of those. There's some others on there that are in full Japanese if anyone wants to go through and see if there's anything info in there of some worth.

I came here looking for more information about that very same feature. I haven't found any confirmations from Capcom reps but in this Gamespot interview the interviewer casually says (around 1:30) "You have other games that we saw this evening, like SFxT, that are gonna work cross PS3 as well." How seriously can a statement like this be taken? Even if it's not officially confirmation as of yet, it shouldn't be a surprise given the push the Vita is getting in that direction, right?

game looks terrible to me like an official mugen game... shit looks ugly

is there a tekken skewed crossover game planned as well? like tekken mechanics with streetfighter characters? seems more interesting to me but could be just as awkward fit for the characters

why is it four buttons? surely they could have had middle's which were standard tekken moves that require just a forward tap + button

those combo videos make it look better but still this game looks like it has no soul lol

"why is it four buttons? surely they could have had middle's which were standard tekken moves that require just a forward tap + button"

It's 6 or 4 Buttons.
