Because at the official site here they mention Heihachi being a partner usually with Kuma http://www.capcom.co.jp/sfxtk_en/character.html

Bear vs Salmon Meme represent!

Also dunno if this foreshadows anything or if this format is completely temporary, but judging by this picture it looks like there's only 5 characters per roster left:

I'm pretty sure it was mentioned that the roster would be around 40 characters.

Edit: Ono just re-confirmed that there are more than 10 characters left to be revealed:
Hehehe, more more left!! ;D RT @KTrigger43: 10 more characters left!? I hope Lee Chalon was invited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

only 10 more characters, that would be lame, that would be only 32 characters total. I was hoping for at least 40, after all most of the SF characters are reused. Also with Lili and Asuka, half confirmed, that leaves only 3 more Tekken characters, which is lame as I want to see more of the staple Tekken characters like Law, Paul, Heihachi, Jack and Ling.

Website layouts are not set in stone. Just because they think that layout looks nice now, it doesn't mean they can't change it later if/when necessary.

If there are going to be 20 per side I want the last Tekken characters to be (Asuka/Lili half confirmed)
14. Alisa
15. Law
16. Paul
17. Heihachi
18. Jack
19. Christie
20. Ling

Alisa and Jack would benefit a lot by being in this game, Alisa can throw her head as a bomb, Jack can have machine gun as well as his hovering stomp move. Both Alisa and Jack can have some sort of missile projectiles. The only problem with this list is that Jin is not in it, and I bet Jin will make it in, which means one I definitely won't get all those characters in the game :(

Where are the villians? No capcom villians announced? Hopefully Seth will make it into the game : ) (puts on armor).
Seth? :/

Would actually be cool to see Gill, since he's more suited to wacky stuff like this. Another headswap character, easy enough.

I would actually like to see Seth in this game as well... Wouldn't mind him in MvC3 either. His combo potential is through the roof for games like these.

And there is no Elena in that Ibuki artwork. This is not another case of "the internet" being right. Did you all see that old artwork with the new characters hidden in it? It was blatantly obvious.

This is someone getting a screen grab of a bunch of rapid moving water, and saying that Elena's foot is one of the oddly shaped water droplets.

If they teased new characters in the new trailer anyone would be able to see it clear as day. They didn't. People on EventHubs just WANT TO BELIEVE so bad.

That leaked list also has predicted nothing so far. Everything on it was known ahead of time.

Just jeep out Seth and put Rolento... that's all I care about.

I think Seth would make sense, but I have yet to enjoy any human or CPU fight against a Seth ever.

I wouldn't mind if this was scrapped. It's not important- Tekken players can adjust to SF.

Great that you think it's not important and can be scrapped and players can adjust even if they don't have to according to developer.

How's the weather in Selfish Town?

Thanks. It's hard to keep track of all fg vids these days.

Anyone seen the videos of the wavedashing? Not sure what the inputs are. I have a feeling it's just mashing dash and not wavedashing at all.

Only works with the Tekken characters and their crazy dashes.

Well it doesnt look like makoto, who i thought it was gonna be, but akuma makes sense to cause they have a very similar play style. Maybe elena?

I was thinking that too, but ibuki/bison is an odd match. Maybe its juri?
Akuma or Juri would be just as odd. No odder than Sagat and Dhalsim though, so it could be any of them, looks most like Akuma to me.

Sagat trained with dhalsim in the story of street fighter, that's why it makes sense.

If you guys want odd, Kazuya is freiking teamed up with Nina. Nina's story every since the Tekken 2 was to assassinate Kazuya, and upon failing to do so Kazuya captured her to use as a guinea pig for experiments before putting her in cryogenic sleep for 20 years. And in the latest Tekken she was hired by Jin as a bodyguard against Kazuya. So I suppose we can all throw canon out the window for this title.

He did?! Well hell, I never knew that. Seems weird since Sagat was a boss (part of Shadaloo, whatever) and Dhalsim is such a goody-goody.

The story is meant to be that Sagat can't throw fireballs in Street Fighter I. Ryu beats him, he gets his scar, and he goes off in search of someont to teach him to be better. Dhalsim is the one who teaches him via the art of Yoga, which is why Sagat's fireballs, like Dhalsim's, are actual fire as opposed to blue chi energy. In the story they're not real fireballs, but optical illusions used to trick the opponent.

Sagat's always the first of Bison's cronies to back down, and that's supposedly because Dhalsim taught him to be better.

I thought he just joined up for revenge against Ryu and was never really evil..

Sagat's fireball, like Ryu, doesn't leave their opponent in flames in Street Fighter 2 though, unlike Dhalsim. It only does it in SF4.

Hmm, Looking good. Yoshimitsu looks great, and they got my main- kazuya, so im good.

might get me to start playing sf.

Yeah, it's this bizarro alternate world where Kaz and Nina team up...not getting the reason for this pair-up. It's like Bison teaming up with Sakura or something.

Still holding out for Anna...rivalry with Nina is a series hallmark.

It'd have been nice if there were custom intros based on the tag pairs, the way TTT2 will do it. Loved the in-battle dialog thing in Rival battles in SSF4, makes it more atmospheric.

Isn't Nina a professional assassin?

As long as Kazuya has more dough than the other guys, he can hire Nina.

Yeah, but it's a complete reversal, and hiring someone who used to work against you so long is weird. You're depending on them sticking to an assassin's code.

Not a big factor in the end, just weird because King-Marduk is straight out of Tekken 6 canon.

On another note: do the Tekken fighters have a projectile-invincible move?

I just see the Nina/Kaz thing as them being the two main faces for the series. Jin and Heihachi are right up their but Jin wasn't their from the start and Heihachi is more like the M Bison of the series. Also when the game was first shown it was Ryu/Chun vs Kaz/Nina. So that made sense and I guess they just stuck with them for some reason.

Yeah, I am also hoping for Anna. You can't have Nina without her sister. In Tekken 6, Nina was in alliance with Jin, while Anna was with Kazuya, since Nina is With Kazuya in this game, pretty much everything else is whatever since SF X T is not canon.

In short, I have a feeling that both Jin and Anna will be revealed later to compliment Kazuya and Nina.

Anna was officially deconfirmed though.
