Great story. I enjoyed it. Not real but I enjoyed it. Too much detail and quotes for the woman to remember it all as it happened.

Anymore story's like this?

given the fact that some of the people are verified to exist and there are news stories that kind of support the events...

it's probably real.

That was a crazy ass ride. Whole thing is fucked up, true or not, but the fact she posted recent pictures of both Jarrett and Jess, with actual FB info too, is really shitty. Like Zola is obviously not the greatest person since she was more than happy to pimp Jess out for some easy cash and stick with all this shady shit until someone got shot in the face, but posting the story online and with recent pictures and info is real fucked up.

One thing to tell a crazy story and shit, but these people's lives sound pretty fucked up as it is. They don't need the whole internet crawling up their ass, especially if both seem to have moved on and gotten their lives together a bit since then. And even if it is all made up and fake, then whoever these two people she posted pictures of and info about definitely don't need whatever attention is now coming their way.

Fucking amazing
The imagery of Jarret punching himself in the face is too much. I'm in a library and im trying my best to stifle this laughter

i would only trust the Cohen brothers to Pull this off with the right tone. I would like to see a Clark Duncan type as Z, Brad Pitt as Jarret, Zola is the star here, not sure who could play this right.

I really need a movie made out of this.

Thinking back to the strippers, boyfriends, and pimps I knew while working at the strip club...yeah this isn't too far fetched. I can believe it.

What do you recommend people do? Cry? What happened, happened and this woman wrote out an interesting story that was fun to read.

Horrible shit happens every single second and there is nothing that we can do about it unfortunately. All that a single person can do is try to be a good individual and influence society in a positive manner.

Ok, and I wasn't trying to judge anyone who found it funny. I laughed out loud as much as anyone else. But then I realised I was laughing at horrible misfortune. Jess is a mother. And she could have gotten killed at any time during this. It just feels wrong for me, a privileged white Swedish male, to be laughing about such a horrible situation. You know what I'm saying?

Who's going to be the first internet news source to rewrite this for the clicks? How long until Wired/The New Yorker writes a full piece on "the story/where are they now/how are they doing now that the story is out? Is this cyber bullying?" Article

I feel like I owe Zola money. I don't even care if the story is real, this was absolutely riveting.

And, it did have a strong female lead. Zola was not about to get turned out, and she made relatively smart decisions to stay out of danger. Problem is, when you're around people in this game, you constantly get into stuff.

We even got the foreshadowing at the shitty motel when Jarret was talking to the dread-head and Z told him off.

Honestly, I found Pain & Gain more tasteless than this story. Z shot the dude with dreads in the face for trying to rob them AND kidnapping Jess. I read about the true story behind Pain & Gain and their victims were way more innocent than anyone that got hurt here. I know it doesn't make any of it "right" but that's how I responded to it.

EDIT: Also there is probably some bias working on my part. I haven't met people quite on this level, but I met some ones that were close and caught up in the game.

It's all hilarious until we find out that all these people were hallucinations and that Zola is actually a paranoid schizophrenic.

Goddamn, all those plot twists, what a script, when's the movie coming out?

Already did, more or less.

I know what you're saying, but Jess chose her own fate. Most of us have enough individual autonomy to make decisions.

Starring Rosario Dawson, Eva Green, Michael Cera, and Jada Pinkett Smith and Djimon Hounsou (for those who don't know the name, black guy from Guardians of the Galaxy). Directed by Quinten of course!
