You can download programs like Space Sniffer to find out what's taking up all that space. My boot swap file (hiberfil.sys) is currently 12.7 GB. Steam is about 40 GB with 16 games installed.
 
I made the switch to Waterfox from Firefox and been liking it so far. It's been easier to switch than I expected but one thing that's annoying me is that they recently made Startpage the default search engine and I don't know how to change it. I managed to make it search Google in the address bar through the about:config options but I don't know how to change the right click->Search _______ for "highlighted text" option.
 
Maybe a stupid question but is there anywhere I can get Photoshop for cheap, I just need it to edit a couple of GIF and images in the UK by the way.
or should I just stick with the trial version?
 
I am looking for this thread and I cannot find it. It appears a few months ago. I can't remember who was the thread starter. All I remember was that it was about if you were mentioned on NeoGAF elsewhere. The thread starter has a piece of search engine query that you can enter into a search engine which will search if you have been referenced from NeoGAF elsewhere. Can somebody find it?

How cheap could I probably get a queen-sized down comforter/quilt for if I shopped around at places like TJ Maxx, Marshalls etc?
 
Is the original unaltered Star Wars trilogy (4-6) out on bluray? From my amazon search it appears that it came out on DVD, but not blu. Anyone able to confirm?
 
My Bank of America checking account charges a monthly fee unless I make at least one $250 or more direct deposit. My question is, does a cash deposit count as a direct deposit? Or does it have to be like a work paycheck direct deposit. I'm not getting paid till next month, but I have $250 in cash I'm going to deposit tomorrow.

Direct deposit is direct deposit. Electronic payroll, social security, child support deposits, stuff like that. Cash deposits won't count.

I'm almost certain the most recent release of the theatrical cuts of the original trilogy was on VHS back in the early/mid 90's. It's possible the laser disc release has better image quality/resolution though.

I think there's too big of a gap between selective gene manipulation and the ethic cleansing that Hitler wanted. You can't really compare the two.

I wasn't necessarily referring to the act of ethnic cleansing, more the philosophy that one race was the epitome of human perfection and all the rest were inferior.

Sure, we'll start out by getting rid of Down Syndrome, but what next? Why won't we stop until we've min/maxed the human DNA until the only abstract thing left is eye color?

Sometimes thinking about the inevitable march of science vs. fickle human nature scares the crap out of me.

In 2006, there was an Unaltered DVD release.
I believe it was effectively a transfer of the LaserDisc.

I wouldn't expect an unaltered BluRay for some time. They'll actually have to go back to masters for that.

If you are only using it to edit a couple of GIFs i would stick with trial or use an alternative such as GIMP. I got Photoshop trough school, so that is also an option.
 
I have an electronic scale for shipping packages, but it needs to be calibrated with 35lb of weight. I don't own weights, but what could I use to calibrate this? Should I just use bags of rice or something?
 
This might be kind of an obscure question, but is there a term for five letter words made up of consonant-vowel-consonant-vowel-consonant. Especially if the vowel is the same. For example, beret or fever. Whenever I'm doing a crossword and get one of these it bugs me. It feels like it should be a palindrome but it isn't.

I suppose bags of rice would be adequate. Maybe you could take it to a post office and they would be able to calibrate it?

PC b00N here, i want to use my Panasonic Plasma for pc gaming. If i connect it via hdmi and turn it on, will it be autodetected? (Nvidia gtx 780)

Can i damage my tv doing that if the graphic card sends a strange signal to it first and then adjusts?


I can't go higher than 1080p and 60fps or could have a problem on a plasma, ricght?
 
You probably need to change your settings. Right-click on the desktop and select either Nvidia control panel, screen resolution, or some similar settings menu.

The TV won't be damaged by using the wrong settings and there is no point in using higher resolutions than what the TV supports i.e. 1080p.
 
My mouth is bleeding; although brushing for a bit (I'd say about a week) seems to make it disappear. Is it healing or am I seriously screwing up my mouth?

So is it your gums that are bleeding or is it elsewhere in your mouth? Brushing and flossing regularly is typically the solution if it is your gums.
 
Its a stink bug. They've flooded Pennsylvania in the past two or three years. Late summer / early fall clouds of them and ladybugs swarm the area. The crazy thing is they can't be controlled with normal pest eliminating procedures .. I guess because of the thoroughness of their exoskeletons.

NOTE: DO NOT squish them or vacuum them. They release a powerful scent that lingers. It doesn't so much 'stink' as their name would suggest but there's something about it that makes you wanna throw up.
 
Question about my phone.

I have an android phone that is roughly 3 years old and its just now..got stuck on boot screen. I installed everything previously as I could on my SD card...so if I take it out and do a force wipe/format of my phone...when I put my SD card back in will it recognize all those apps I had?
 
In America when they say "the poverty rate is 15%" does that mean that 15% of people make an income less than the set bar and are thus dependent on welfare or that 15% of the people in the country make less than the set bar including all forms of aid?
 
I just had a flashback of a time I worked at a minimum wage job, and I had to know the answer to this.

At Pizza Hut one morning, I was tasked with shaking a sign in front of traffic to advertise their buffet. A half hour later, I notice a guy stops in traffic and starts recording me with his phone. He then gets out of my car and says the way I was shaking my sign was illegal and he was going to report me and the store to the police. I was a little shocked/freaked out at this, but eventually nothing ever came of it and I never saw the guy again.

So is there actually any laws in the United States related to frequency or style of sign shaking in front of traffic? Or was it just all nonsense?
 
I need pictures of a baseball player swinging a baseball bat during the preparatory phase, force phase, and the follow through phase. Where's the best place to get these types of pictures? It's for a biomechanics project I'm doing.
