“a level of graphical quality that in some scenes is genuinely industry leading.”

I’m not seeing that in any of the gameplay I watched so far. It would hit you immediately, you notice it straight away and would be a substantial subject of discussion amongst gamers .

Digital fuckery posting not one, but 2 tweet about the game having excellent graphic make me think that yt compression absolutely annihilate this game IQ or they are just fishing for clicks with their usual hyperbolic bullshit opinions...

Which one is it?

For the record, in 2024 i don't find those models really super impressive tbh, nor the skin, nor the materials of the suits or nothing really, at best they look pretty good, so i lean toward another doozy opinion from the df crew but i have to try the game first for a final judgement.

(some models look better than others)

No the models are seriously impressive.

"Character models are some of the best i've scene"

Feels like I hear this dozens of times a year at this point.

Becaue models are generally good to great in any AAA game, even gothamk knights had some very nice models.

So when the quality get samey, the so called professionals should at least have some nuances instead of going full retard (and it was the same with spidey 2, that game was as even as my grades at school when i discovered masturbation)

But then again, i still have to play the game.

Honestly it really does have some great facial expression animations, much better than I was expecting at least. Not sure why they decided to go with such a brightly colored game, especially compared to the Arkham games, but maybe it's because it's the Suicide Squad so they wanted it to look more "loud and ridiculous"? Not sure. I'm about 5 hours in now, and yeah for me, it's still dumb fun. Who knows how long I'll play it. But I could see it being a decent brain melter, it has been thus far IMO.

I mentioned it before, but I tried playing Gotham Knights and put it down almost immediately. It just felt like a chore when I immediately started playing it. But this hasn't done that to me. I haven't played Sunset Overdrive, but I definitely played Crackdown 1 and 2, and a lot of it reminds me of Crackdown.

Dreamcast guys video is worth a watch if any of you guys get tempted by ppl in this thread saying the game is in any way good
If you're curious I'd recommend just checking it out on Steam, and get a refund if it's not your cup of tea. Too many people lean way too hard on content creators or other opinions, and in situations like this, majority of them just want to ride the waves that get the most clicks. Which is most certainly the hate train. I'm by no means taking a bullet for the game, lmao. I just personally don't think it's nearly as bad as everyone led on IMO. Everyone has an opinion, and no one's opinion is wrong. That's how it always is.

Eh GK’s were good but you could tell they were started on the previous gen before they made it next gen. These are next gen Rocksteady models.

Metropolis is supposed to be kind of the opposite of Gotham.

You gave me 5 straight minutes of laughing.

Thank you.

Also, the game really has some great visually impressive areas (and all the character banter/scenes look fantastic) and the performance on PC has been shockingly awesome (max everything 120 hrz etc)

I really don't think these are the best nextgen models that the team who made AK could have made after 9 years of develpment (so it also started in the previous gen like GK).

I just don't see it dude, i'm too lazy to put red circles on a pic to show all the things that are not exactly top tier in these pics, maybe i'm just too demanding but this is a fully nextgen game from a AAA studio so i expect excellence.

I'm gonna have a final judgement when i'm gonna play the game in 4k on my 4080:messenger_winking:

Which totally makes sense! But I guess a ton of people missed the memo, lol. They've done a good job of connecting the bridges with Arkham series characters though.
The Batman Experience/Museum had a TON of nods towards the Arkham series, and it was pretty amazing, honestly.

Because the graphics, lighting, textures or her character model get better after the tutorial?

Game looks good visually to me. Dunno what to tell you.

. . .however my comment was clearly about the YouTuber highlighting someone mindless bashing on single enemies, despite that not being in any way shape or form a routine representation of the combat in the game.

I don't give too much weight to the comparisons with AK, AK really doesn't look that great on consoles anymore (recently played a bit on series x). Also Gotham is artistically very different from Metropolis.

I heard very conflicting opinions about the perf on pc on reeee, and that forum is loving and shielding the game like it was the second coming of goodbye volcano high, they are the opposite of gaf treatment so hardly liars or haters.

The game seems to be extremely cpu-bounded.

The combat comparison was clearly dishonest.

It's like if they showed the acrobatic gunplay vs batman launching the batarang to show the difference in ranged combat.

But tbh, after 9 years all the animations should look pristine and not janky, no matter if it is melee or ranged, i saw some videos and you actually use melee frequently enough.

It uses UE4. So it will probably have the usual issues with a couple of threads doing most of the work. And then most other threads doing little.
And it might also have the usual UE4 stutters from asset streaming and shader compilation.

No, the game compile the shader at the beginning, i heard that it lose a lot of frames during chaotic situations, no stuttering, just wild frame fluctuations.

Ubisoft's for the absurd asking price

Only Nintendo can get away with charging $50-60 bucks for a 2D Metroid
But why’s it absurd?

The game is brilliantly crafted and provides about 20-30 hours of content.

It’s flopped, will struggle to break even and then people wonder why Ubisoft release cut and paste GaaS games that sell millions and make billions.

The fundamental problem that major publishers have is that gamers demand hundreds upon hundreds of hours worth of entertainment, but the only way to meet that is with live service games that churn out conveyer belt, cookie cutter games.

They’re responding to demand, not creating that demand.

Full disclosure...my pc has bigger biceps than you physically have wolf...so it could be that I am immune to those issues.

Yeah, I have a i9-14900KF + a 3080, and it's been buttery smooth at 1440 95% of the time. I think I got a second/half second stutter once or twice? But it was very minuscule.

Yeah, I'm sure if people have been affected by the standard UE4 issues, they may experiencing them here as well as a result. Totally a YMMV thing.

I've honestly only been using Boomerang, whose melee is a ranged flourish on his throw, so haven't really noticed it much. What I did play of the melee for HQ felt less satisfying (you "teleport" to an enemy, though I guess you're meant to really be using evade to close the distance with her if you are on the ground - which you shouldn't be). So sure, I'll give that perhaps they could have gone more comic-book on some of the animations, but everything else visually about the game looks good.

. . .that said, PC performance isn't terrible, but is taxing if you're going for a 4K experience. On a 6800XT/5600X/32GB I can't get a locked 60 using FSR. Turning it down to 3K and Balanced does better, but I still get frame drops. This is likely a 1400P/60FPS/Balanced game for most people without top of the line gear. I've also experienced no tell-tale shader stuttering (which, given the heavy emphasis on traversal combat, would kill the game for me).

I have a filthy 13600k so i'm less sure about being cpu-bounded or not.

On Xbox it has to be REALLY insane to drop. It does, but it’s like the most chaotic fights when it does.

Tbf i heard people with 13900k+4090 having problems, i don't know how much higher than that you can go tbh :lollipop_grinning_sweat:
I'm assuming they're pushing everything as high as they can, as they should with a 4090. It's a shame they're experiencing issues, but this also isn't the first time. People with 4090s had tons of issues with Jedi Survivor, but I didn't with my 3080 and was able to complete the game without any serious issues at all. just a few stutters here and there but nothing constant or game breaking. Everyone acted like I was a shill or a liar, but I was just being honest with my experience, lol. 🤷‍♂️

Hey, be light on yourself and that 13600K, there's plenty of people out there that don't even have that! :pie_grinning: I wish I could tell you how it would perform, but I couldn't say.

I don't even care too much about the melee, the gunplay is what disturb me way more (from the videos)

Not talking about the aim, or the recoil or anything beside hit reactions and how enemy go down\ragdoll, it looks absolutely janky and dreadfull, the other parts of the gunplay looks fun and arcadey but the act of hitting enemies looks terrible on yt, i'm not asking for heavy, gorey tlou2 level of gunplay because this is an arcade game but this looks just bad to me.

I can't even explain with words, it just look bad and maybe live it feels different.

I found a moment when it's close to an enemy and it's pretty clear what i mean, look how fucking unnaturaly fast the enemy goes down, almost comically so, and it looks like that a lot when it shots enemies, just super fucking arcadey shooting feeling, i don't like it.

look from 9:10 to 9:20

I heard that rtx basically half (or halves?) the perf just for reflections so it's better OFF.

Oh yeah I can imagine, I just left my settings on default aside from turning DLSS on and putting it on balanced. I wouldn't be surprised if RTX was off by default, especially if that's ALL it's doing. Definitely not worth it for the sacrifice of performance.

A few of my Twitch follows have been playing this and their viewer count are some the worse I have seen them get. I canceled my pre-order even though I got a great discount on it as I see it being $20 soon or on GamePass.
