last [tv broadcast] of bakemonogatari was very reminiscent of ep2/3's conversations between hitagi and koyomi...had quite a few laughs, followed up by a pretty touching ending. Overall a very nice series to watch and will be ending up in my collection over the next 6 months or so.

I hope ep 13~15 won't be IP blocked when it airs online...

I was expecting more Tsubasa Cat with a little bit of Senjougahara to end the tv broadcast, but I think I prefer this. Ending is very low key but still enjoyable.

Just saw the last episode of Princess Lover.
The first few episodes were kinda fun, many other were shitty, but I kept watching to see how it'd end anyways.
Man, what a shitty ending. What kind of moron
tells the man that killed his parents, kidnapped one of his friends twice, tried to kill him "I forgive you" and even tries saving him? What kind of bullshit is that...

Spiderman?

Canaan had a good ending, a bit sad, but I liked it. Makes me wish for another season to see some more of the pieces that were left untouched plus
the next showdown between the two Canaan
.
Really liked both Canaan and Alphard.

Can't say the same about Shangri-la tho, disappointing to say the least.

I watched all the episodes and thought the ending was decent, but ep 1~11 were...pretty horrible...

I hope Pandora Hearts gets an expanded soundtrack, a lot of that music deserves to be full length dammit, the show kinda sucked though as I hate it when nothing is resolved. I hope the series continues just so it can tell the story, but maybe it needs to wait on the manga. But as bad as I thought the anime actually was the music was bad ass so I'll probably prefer it in televised form.

Sad to see Spice and Wolf II end, better be a season 3. Will be buying the novels as they're released here and keep an eye out for Funimation's release(better do fucking Bluray you bastards!). Was a good series all the way through.

Princess Lover, Jesus what shit, that got progressively worse as it went along. Glad it's done, sorta, hopefully they just stop.

Everything else I'm waiting on subs.

Why you found them to be horrible?
I know the whole show has been kinda crazy and over the top, but it is also what I liked about it along with the characters and the whole overall story/setting. I can't help but like strong women and crazy taxi drivers.

Finally saw bakemono 12. OMG. BEST DATE EPISODE EVAR. And seriously a fantastic way to end the TV run. God, it's been awhile since we've seen Senjou, and with her return, she delivers in SPADES.

Bakemonogatari:
I so expected some twist where she was actually in some cult and was going to lead him out in the woods to kill him.

Finale week!

Taishou Baseball Girls ending - kind of expected. You almost want a final episode just to wrap up all the relationships and whatnot... and I don't think it ever lived up to the insane patriotic Tokyo fight song thing in the first episode. I'm just sort of glad that all the Yuri stuff basically went out the window. :lol

Saki - end with an Onsen episode. Why not, I guess. I stayed for the Mahjong and the characters sort of sucked me in. I can't imagine how the mangaka managed to essentially do 20 unique characters and fill in their backstories, but it works. One thing I like about some Japanese sports anime is that there are no villains... yeah, your protagonists will probably win, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the other team is evil.

Valkyria Chronicles - stuck with it to the end. Yeah... not so much. It seems like they ran out of steam at the end and had to basically compress the last act. The only thing I enjoyed was the epilogue they threw in.

Still need to catch up on a couple other shows, including Bakemonogatari and Sora no Manimani, but I enjoyed what I watched this season. Even Endless Eight!

There will be 3 more episodes after 12, I believe, for a total of 15. The last 3 will be included with the DVD release, focused on Koyomi Vampire.
huh? Are you completely forgetting the tsubasa cat arc? We still have that. Nothing has been announced at all about a prequel yet.

Also, Bakemonogatari 12 was incredible, one of my favourite episodes of any anime this season. To be honest, they could've ended it right there or left that episode for 15.

for some reason i was absolutely convinced that she would kill herself at the part where she was walking in the woods alone. :lol

anyways great episode

It's funny. I've never really liked Senjougahara---I think she's extremely well written as what she is, and that's why I haven't liked her---but ep 12 was her most symathetic by far even though it also had her worst moment.

status of bake 13-15: let's hope shaft finally figures out how they're doing this after the typesetter/sometimes-editor and i hit 50 in aion and get bored of the grind.
status of mazinger and zan szs: the more time i stare at a crafting bench the more time i can alt-tab out. elyos on siel can expect about one line translated for every 1-2 ingredients donated. :lol

You know, I know this isn't really Summer 09 I'm bringing up but, I was bored and watched all of Strike Witches and it wasn't the worst thing I'd ever seen. Granted it could have done without all the nudity and I'm sure wearing pants would have made sense when cruising in the air, but the concept was actually pretty cool. I wish there was more alternate reality WW2 era type shit. I've seen Pumpkin Scissors, Valkyria Chronicles and this and sure they all had weak overall writing, and while I haven't finished VC yet, Sky Girls and Punpkin Scissors definitely had terrible endings, but I think the idea's neat.

Is there anything like a Band of Brothers quality level anime in a realistic or alternate WW2ish era Earth?

First two episodes were pretty awesome crazy, but it is all been downhill since. I'm on episode 9 or 10 now, so I'm glad to hear the ending is decent.

You're shitting me, right?

If not, my serious answer: fuck no, not even close.

I knew there's been nothing decent that was recent but I was thinking maybe there was something old that wasn't shit.

Don't know if anyone here watch it but: Time of Eve ended. Boring finale

Tokyo M.8: Oh God, I cried like a baby. Yukki is like the sweetest kid, and Mari-san is like the definition of what a mother is. She's awesome.

Bring on the Autumn thread!

It's your lucky day. Studio 4`C is coproducing a series of shorts(?) with the Russians about the Great Patriotic War that are due out next season.

It was a nice ep but it seemed quite jarring when placed with the rest of the series. I don't get it at all :lol

He is trying to get a list of every character on the special Anime Expo 96' poster that was made. It's quite large and being from 96' has alot of older anime.

That thing is ridiculous. :lol I know quite a few of the series that is on there but I'm too lazy to figure out which ones still need to be named.

The whole point of the episode was to give the tv viewers with no access to watching the webcasts a sufficient ending. Aside from that, this episode also supposedly has great significance to tsubasa cat arc. It'll probably be revealed why next episode

Oh and one more thing regarding Episode 12.
Some facts from the novel about the event in the episode

- The car was borrowed from daddy's friend
- Daddy talked about the family is actually a poor one, and about the borrowed car
- About Hitagi not choosing to go to an observatorium instead, because she couldn't afford to pay for it
- And thus the star gazing scene, being everything that hitagi can give to araragi

Makes the scene seem more powerful and gives better meaning to the line "I have nothing else"

I'm still trying to figure out why there were none. It really made no sense. Formal tops and underwear? Why not just make a military bikini for Christ's sake? First episode I thought maybe the chick was on vacation when she went to pick out the girl and that's what she wanted to wear. Whatever. Then I thought, hey maybe it's some kind of hazing by the second episode. Then I remembered it was a Japanese cartoon and just shrugged. I also have no fucking clue why they transformed into or channeled animal spirits as that was never mentioned, never got a resolution with her father and never really found out how they won. Oh, and outside the propulsion I still don't know why they needed magic unless their weapons were also magical but that was also never covered. The whole show was a fucking mess. They did manage to put a few good moments in there with some of the older characters that approached a semblance of mature story telling.

But I think the concept was cool. I really just want a show that follows one squad of something in some era through a war and is halfway decent. I'd prefer WW2 but they can put it during the Napoleonic era or fucking antiquity and make Japanese styled Spartans for all I care. Gundam sucks and so has Macross for a while as well, so I was hoping maybe I missed something good. Just pick a small squad, forget about the big picture and focus on them for a whole series.

Oh and I know I already answered but I want to make one thing clear: I do not expect any anime to come close to the epicness that is Band of Brothers, when I say close I mean it as a relative term taking into account the obvious differences in quality between the two. I'd honestly be surprised if any cartoon in a hundred years from anywhere approached Band of Brothers.

Ah, that would have worked as well, lol. Anyways, the one thing I didn't see happening was a happy ending. It was a pretty good series though.

yeah...uhm...thanks for not using the spoiler code...cause you know...some people might actually be reading or planning to read the light novels...

Are those really story breaking spoilers for you? Just when you read it this time, you won't be as "aaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwww"

The novels have been out for a long time, and the episode was aired a week ago. It's your problem, not his.

Anyways, I wasn't too interested in the Tsubasa Cat arc, since Hanekawa as a character rather bores me. I'd love for the next three episodes to cover Araragi's encounter with Kiss-shot Arceola-something-something-heart-under-blade-legendary-vampire, though. :lol

Next three are about Tsubasa cat arc.
A prequel would be really nice though.
And i just found out today that her name was actually that :lol

Well then, I guess I'll start spoiling away for the fall season series less than a week after the episodes air since I've read a few of them and they've been out for a long time as well /rolleyes

Except you were bitching about novel spoilers, when A: you know what happens thanks to the anime, and B: the novels have been out for far longer than a week.

And honestly, those spoilers were so insignificant that if your enjoyment of the books are somehow affected by them, maybe you weren't enjoying them in the first place.

Seriously?

Seriously?

If you can read Japanese I figure the novels have been out way long enough for it to not be considered spoilers, and if you're waiting on an official or unofficial English translation, LOL, you'll probably forget you ever read that post by the time you get your hands on it.

And I was still talking about the novels.

I don't think it's unreasonable to come into an anime thread to see spoilers for the anime itself, but the novels or manga beyond "it's different" or "it's basically the same" with an ambiguous description? Source and adapted material for the most part may be the same, but atleast for myself (and a number of my friends who read the books), I find enjoyment in reading the differences whether it be subtle or significant.

Am I the only person that enjoyed Canaan? The story was a bit wishy washy but the action was pretty consistently good, and the twist in episode 11 was great.

Green Haired lady killing her lover was an amazing plan

Jesus, so I looked this up and WTF? I can't tell if it'll be terrible or fucking awesome. I mean, it has Nazi's, Commies, I'm guessing some kind of Russion Samurai, oh and ZOMBIE ARMIES, maybe Nights of Templar as well, and some sorcerers to boot.

Seriously, check out the trailer, sorry my Russian and German is terrible so I don't have a fucking clue what they're saying.

Umineko is pretty damn interesting, anyone still following Cross Game? I'm starting to lose interest (feels like a long shounen baseball series).

I got to like episode three for Cross Game... just couldn't keep up with it. I think it's a decent series, it's just that it's so fucking dull.
