This episode is like one of those like Pikachu's Goodbye where they make it seem like this is the end, but it's so obvious that it isn't. Not only that, a new girl is introduced at the very end of the episode. Hopefully the next episode is back to form.

He is only dead when the HP hits 0. Force that potion down his throat while the HP is still sliding and he will survive. And he spoke for quite some time for a dead guy.

That was weird eps. It started with the super grim message that 2000 or so players died in the first month and then it pops into your standard anime OP with tons of lovely lasses and ends with:

Seriously, did the writer finish the first novel/chapter or w/e and realize this badass grim mmo story won't sell, and flip the genre or something?


Anyhow, the eps was pretty great. Animations weren't smooth but stuff looked good. Love how kirito runs and rolls around. Feels 'lively'. That finisher was pretty great as well (did asuna just slash with a rapier? O_O), shame it's too long to gif at a decent size.

And I gotta love Kiriko's new 'persona'. I totally expected a cheesy speech and reasoning, but instead he completely deflected the question and equipped his neo coat and walked off like a badass.

Dude, some HP bar is sliding down in split second like that but its not means the damage isn't definitive.

I'm not recall any RPG (FF?)game that the damage got cut off if you use potion while the bar sliding down. The system allow you sent last word if you dead then lol.

He had a slash across the chest just like the MC would soon suffer from. I don't see the MC being dead. His death was poorly handled. Didn't help that the audience had no time to even get to know him before we are told we have to feel sorry for him.

And as for the scrolling damage system, I already mentioned Mother.

the real question is, how many RPGs have a slow sliding HP bar?
if you're going to do that there has to be a purpose

I assumed he was bleeding or had like a DOT (damage over time) effect, thats how confusing it is

That dude's death was handled like shit, but I don't see anything wrong with there being a 10 second delay between zero HP and death. Maybe there's a revival item that can only be used in that short window of time.

There were mods for WoW that did that. It's just an aesthetic thing.

He got two slash, MC got one n the damage was over half of his HP. You can imagine he dead with two hit like the leader.

Well, they never state what stats/level Kirito is, maybe the leader has piss poor stats/level which is why he's aiming for the last attack bonus item to power himself up.

Wait people are nitpicking about mr knight's death?

I just naturally assumed that was a fatal blow. In your typical mmo for that attack you'd see the big AOE marker on the ground and you should back the fuck away right?

I guess the slow death was kinda weird. Should have just cleaved that motherfucker in half with half the corpse plopping on the ground (with crappy ragdoll ;P), with dead eyes stare.

After being told 2000+ are already dead adding one more is just another brick in the wall.

Would be funny if the ending ends up being a cop out and the reality is that people are just kicked out of the game with no way of returning when they die and this is just an experiment to see how people would cope with the threat of real death. But there is still some evil behind all this as they are still billed for the 12 months subscription no matter what. Except for those in the UK where this would be seen as an anti consumer practise.

When you're freaking out, you do irrational things. He probably knew that the potion wouldn't do anything, but he didn't want to accept that fact.

And there's a difference between watching someone die and being called a really stupid name by some useless prick.

Didn't the black guy say "Congratulations" in English. I thought that was a hint that he was not Japanese, but this just follows the typical everyone speaks one language despite being from all over world logic.
Maybe online translators are actually competent in the future. We already established the big bad is Scottish.

And yes this game would be liable for a law suit in the UK for misleading the consumer. The families should at least expect their money back for their child's death.

If it's an internationally released game then why didn't any national regulatory and/or classification boards pick up on the inherent life threatening flaw of the hardware? Surely there'd be regulated safeguards in place to stop something like this from happening.

Whoever on the staff is doing these huntercyclopedia segments is definitely pretty awesome. They never fail to deliver the good moments.

Can't wait to see how they all escape the mansion, I already imagine that the lady wont make it, she was cowering behind the butler, and I cant imagine her 180second love kiss to work on hooded assassins. Actually everyone but Kurapika look like fodder characters, so...

Conjurer seems pretty cool but limiting unless he can conjure nen beam blasts and explosions? And have we encountered these illusive specialists yet?
