She's there to make Cajuns watch the show.
She has a purpose.
She's basically the complete opposite of Oreki, so I understand why she's the way she is, but I also understand why other people might think she's too ditzy or energetic or dumb (or whatever reason some people might have for disliking her).

I kinda lost interest in actually watching it once people complained about the mysteries sucking. That was the reason I was going to watch it in the first place!

This is like people watching LOST for the mysteries. It's a character-driven show. The mysteries don't matter!
Not saying that Hyouka's mysteries aren't fun, but they aren't the crux of the series

damn, that was amazing on all levels.

Hyouka - Episode 14

This is fucking perfection. This arc. This animation. This art. This KyoAni. PERFECTION. WILD....... FIRE!!!!! This arc could last forever and I would be happy. So good. SO GOOD. The mystery they've been building up behind the scenes each week has been intriguing too. THIS IS THE BESTO EVAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what boggles my mind is how kyoani are able to produce a 24 episode show (+specials) at this quality, along with another show in the same year. take notes, shaft....

I feel this way about every anime. Maybe except for School Days which literally infuriated me. Even then, though, I just dropped it.

you have to trust me on this.

school days is one of the most memorable experiences of all time. the final few episodes are a must watch.

the anger will disappear once you have finished with it.

It wasn't much anger but moreso the fact that the last episode scared the living daylights out of me. I couldn't sleep that night. *sigh*...

Well that was my draw to the show so if that point sucks I'm not really interested in checking it out.

The final episode of School Days is the second biggest WTF I've experienced in my anime watching. The first is the rape in Blood+.

I forgot what the male term is but this shit character was the definition of a Mary Sue throughout the show. The very fucking definition.

Made the show boring as fuck.
He has weakness that everyone abuses and is the least powerfull member of his familly.

I think a capable character is not a Sue

Goodbye AKB0048.

I'd like to thank everyone involved in making this masterpiece. The NeoGaf mods for not banning me before this point. Goro for not making a live action adaption of it. My parents for insuring I was here to see this. And Jesus for being a superstar.

Truly the anime of out generation.

It's alright. There are shows that are much better like Eureka SeveN and Fate/Zero.

buuhhgh... I disliked Fate/Zero, and I'm sitting on Eureka Seven due to several people saying its bad.

Currently watching:

Binbougami
Jinrui
Natsuyuki

Guess I'm set till the season is over.

His weakness is relatively artificial if I remember correctly.

Considering his brother is a demi god if not arguably a flat out God, that argument doesn't really fly. In the world Kenshi is in, he's pretty much the best fighter on the show by a very very solid margin.

You might be getting Eureka Seven and E7AO confused. I was talking about the original.

Hyouka is a good show? Been avoiding it, but the art and animation looked stellar, so I've been interested this whole time...
One through eleven on Hyouka range from okay to bad. Episode twelve on has been stellar so far. Like, another level kind of stuff.

When you are raise by badasses how can you not be perfect?

That's because everyone in that world suck.

For the Japanese market, adult (porn) OVAs are sold in download form (NSFW) to some degree (for between $15 and $35 per episode), but for non-adult stuff it's virtually non-existent except for a handful of special exceptions (e.g. the Training With Hinako series can be bought via download for PCs, but that company also sells Android versions of them with no region restrictions; they seem to like selling everywhere they can.)

I was under the impression that one can buy permanent episodes of various U.S.-licensed anime from the U.S. iTunes store, though. Is that gone now?

There's some series there, but everyone seems to be chasing the streaming subscription model now.

I'd say give it a couple episodes at least. I like it but it's a weird show to recommend.

Basically what I tell my friends: It's a slow/downtempo show but I absolutely love the atmosphere and the aesthetics of it. Your enjoyment of it might depend on how much you enjoy the characters. The production values are godlike but if you're not invested in the characters and the subject matter you probably won't like it.

OK, so I have a really free weekend coming up and it occurred to me that it's been a while since I've seen a new anime. I'm looking for an OVA or movie to watch this weekend. As you'll be able to tell really fast, I've been absent from anime for a long time. Don't laugh at my stone-age tastes!

Not really interested in a full-season series just due to time.

Favorites: Cowboy Bebop, Macross Plus, Ghost in the Shell (original and Innocence), Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, The Big O, Ninja Scroll, Highlander: The Search For Vengeance, Akira, Samurai Champloo.

Things I Like: Violence, gritty, dark, epic, high production values, a hand-drawn look, detailed art. That wave that hit the US in the late 80s/90s.

Things I Dislike: CGI look, huge eyes, day-glo colors, whining, you can probably guess the rest based on my favorites list. Not interested in Miyazaki right now, as I've seen most of his films.

Bonus: I have a soft spot for Gundam. Seen Wing, G Gundam, some of the original, tiny bit of Gundam X. Fave Gundam is 08th MS Team, any Gundam OVA/Movie type stuff I should be aware of? Stardust Memories looks superficially similar to 08th MS Team.

EDIT: Working on a MAL now.

How do you feel about wackiness injected into the gritty dark violence? Because I would recommend Dead Leaves if you haven't seen it already.

I guess it's KyoAni's third best show, which admittedly isn't saying much given everything not named Haruhi or Fumoffu ranges from unremarkable (FMP 2nd) to garbage (do I even need to say it?)

Hyouka is great qualitywise as you would expect. the first season is slow and plodding with some genuinely boring content, but stick with it and you will be rewarded.

Chitanda is just an inferior uglier version of Erio anyway.

Hmmm. But Erio is a goddess. Its an unfair comparison.

I just got rewarded for watching Hyouka. 13 episodes of grueling and one episode rewarded? That doesn't seem fair. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

13 episodes? Episode 7 was the most rewarding episodes, everything else is just dessert.

What was 7 again? I might've actually enjoyed that episode and accidentally lied.

You're just picking up ammo for your dream ufotablexBONESxKyoAni war!

Not an unwise endeavor.

Dude. By watching Hyouka, I'm gathering intelligence for this war. Are you kidding me?

You could say she would be a great K-On! character.

That's why it's not unwise!

Oh. I misread that. Crap, I'm doing that so often as of late. What the hell is wrong with me. I"m sorry.

EDIT: also, Chitanda is possibly one of the worst characters I've seen in recent anime history. At least from the ones that I've watched.

He has an irrational hate for KyoAni.

Nothing irrational about disliking Second Raid. Just like the original FMP series it is an unremarkable mecha show with characters who are better suited to be in a high school hi-jinx comedy anime than a serious mecha action series.

They're easily the most talented animation studio involved with TV right. I think many other studios could benefit from following their example in budgeting, talent acquisition and training, and scheduling.

I just hate most of their products. Definition of wasted potential.

One of the worst? Really? there have been some pretty awful characters in shows lately. I highly doubt Chitanda is the absolute worst.
