I just number stuff on how much I like it.
I don't think that is too acceptable when working with a 10 point scale. At least with a 5 point scale it can be like:
  1. Hated it
  2. Disliked it
  3. Indifferent
  4. Liked it
  5. Loved it
If you're going to put more thought into it than that, might as well try to be more objective.

My MAL is a Fivestar note pad. I don't think it's Windows 7 compatible haha.
My man! You have been very nice and I already said it... but this puts you on whole new level of cool!

You can also use maruman MNEMOSYNE notepads with a not very wet fountain pen (I habitually use one from WÖRTHER BADEN-BADEN with Rohrer & Klingner inks) for a smoother feel and maximum snob-ism. Sorry, I can't avoid loving something like that even on this era!

I was wondering who the heck HAL was until I realized it was SatoJun's dealio.
No one remembers them for works like Mr. Kobayashi's Natsu no Sora. And I precisely think that would be a series right down your alley, firehawk12!

Now one might think this is something to be avoided with the above description but, Jebus H Christ, the OVA is a showcase of mechanical & effects animation if I've ever seen one. This is straight up porn for anyone that appreciates such. It's like everything non-character related that could be spruced up with extra animation was done so. Military vehicles like helicopters and tanks are beautiful in this, there's all sorts of hot gadgetry & weaponry in the MADOX-01 suit that's great in motion, and hell, I think there was even an amazing doorknob that was just there and a joy to watch turn.

Always reminds me of this video collection of pieces from such a genius animator:

I finally worked out a deal with my sister to share her Netflix with me so I could rent Revolutionary Girl Utena, and now I see it says "DVD availability date unknown." fml.

Is there a legal, inexpensive way of watching this series?

They shouldn't have even bothered printing the regular editions of the BD. lol

Sorry, but TWGOK is to me what SAO is to firehawk. It offends my essence.
Having their memories get erased is pretty silly. It's like Amagami SS but somehow worse because of the fact that it's all one continuity.

If you're a nerd, you're going to buy BD and then buy the LE because it came with the giant book that contains storyboards for the entire movie.

That is stupid, but the thing that really offends me is that it teaches that you actually can learn how to interact with girls from video games. That and the premise makes no sense when the "real" girls act exactly like typical anime girls anyway.

140k first week is really impressive. I think that beats both Nanoha's and Haruhi's movies. I should look up Summer Wars's numbers for comparison's sake.

Once again, you're missing the point, but I guess other people failed at convincing you before, so I'm wasting my time.

The fact that girls he was "conquering"/"liberating" were also anime girls made me consider the possibility that this is all some kind of self-aware parody.

Maybe the manga will end and it'll turn out that the entire run of the manga was just an extremely long dating sim game about a guy who plays dating sim games.

Read the manga.

Yeah, I know, but then with all the
goddess stuff
in the recent chapters, nothing really gets resolved on that front. It's the standard
harem bickering
more than anything else.

Speaking of leaving things untranslated, Sailor Moon fans started saying "Sailor Senshi" as a way of not saying the dub term "Sailor Scouts", but the official term "Sailor Soldiers" exists and is used in the anime.

I don't think at any point during reading TWGOK, I ever thought to myself that it's trying to pass itself as realistic way of getting girls.

Guys, ANN has a sane 10 point scale ready for use.
Not sure if serious, it falls apart around the midpoint of the scale. MAL's scale is better.

What's the point, besides moe pandering?

It's parody. You aren't supposed to take it so seriously. Not once is it telling people to go out and treat real girls like dating sim girls. This isn't some thought-provoking, message-filled series, it's a dynamic take on the harem genre that's just fun and sometimes has heartwarming moments.

I was bored, so I compared MAL and ANN's ranking systems.

MAL is pretty straightforward:

10 - Masterpiece
9 - Great
8 - Very Good
7 - Good
6 - Fine
5 - Average
4 - Bad
3 - Very Bad
2 - Horrible
1 - Unwatchable

ANN is more interesting; the site code reveals that the scale technically goes from 1 to 11, and while on the show pages, it seems to just have simple descriptors for each ranking, when you're actually rating shows the descriptions are more... elegant:

11 - A Masterpiece, exquisite beyond words
10 - Excellent, should be in anyone's collection
9 - Very good, don't miss it
8 - Good, worth seeing
7 - Decent, I didn't lose my time
6 - So-so, it didn't really grab my attention
5 - Not really good, but not a total waste either
4 - Weak, I wish I'd done something better with my time
3 - Bad, really not recommended
2 - Awful, should be avoided at all costs
1 - Worst ever, maybe useful as sadistic torture device
