Sanji looking so happy talking about All Blue makes me like him even more. Cooks of the sea are apparently the truest of bros too.

Fafner ep 1 - 9

Good dub and actually really awesome anime. Soushi and Kazuki by default make this really awesome. It was honestly shocking how well they go together and complement each other just in episode one and then in episode two. It was a bit disappointing, initially, when all the other kids were asked to get involved and take part but lots of them are interesting, especially Kouyou. Plot was more drama than I expected it and I liked it.
Poor Kouyou, is he really gonna stay assimilated forever?! :(

Honestly it feels like some hybrid Gundam Seed Neon Genesis Evangelion Lite type of amalgamation, just the characters alone (Soushi is like some awesome gender bend of Cagalli it seems, Kazuki looks great, and I honestly think I saw a Natarle in there too). Unfortunately, I like this more than Seed but not as much as Eva. The Fafner's look cool.

Glad I just randomly bought this will keep going and the soundtrack is awesome I love the drums

Ah, okay. I just wondered if you might go the latter way because of Seikon no Qwaser.
Well, I like them both.
I was kind of surprised you hadn't seen the second season yet, the show seems practically made for you right?
Oh it's a very :chet show for sure, But I didn't watch the first season of Qwaser until after I watched Manyuu Hikenchou which is probably even more to my liking. And I just kept putting off watching the second season for some reason. Not sure why.
As for a third season, I think the BD/DVD sales numbers weren't very high from what I can remember reading here in the thread.

Well, I can't imagine the second season was that much of a money sink, so I'll continue to keep the dream alive!
I should probably read the manga anyways, assuming most of it is translated, unlike Manyuu...

Last ones, I promise. I don't know why I'm doing this.

You're clearly NOT enjoying this

Totally enjoying it, but they're horrible, and nobody asked for this!

X: The Movie

As the bulk of the film was split between surreal dream sequences and crazy psychic battles, there wasn't much time left for things like a sensible narrative or fleshed-out characters you can care about. Sure looked great though! So many cherry blossoms.

I do have to give credit to the composer, Yasuaki Shimizu; the gloomy, brooding dissonance of his soundtrack helped keep me engaged in the ludicrous events, in addition to the pretty visuals. Like Angel's Egg, this is an example of where pulling in an experimental composer outside the anime industry paid off.

I need to watch this sooner than later. Something else I keep putting off.

Basquash 4

Anyway, the last 3 or 4 minutes of this episode were great. This is more like basketbrawl than basketball, and I'm totally okay with that. Screw actual basketball games, this is anime!
The first 5 episodes of Basquash are awesome.
Then they changed directors, and the awesome never came back. ;_;

Still lower than the DVD numbers. I have to imagine the bulk of the BD numbers come from the few men who actually like the series (sorry guys, I didn't mean that as a passive aggressive insult... really. :p).
I'm tired of your technosexism. Women can and will enjoy broo rays too. I know because I saw it on the internet.

Someone should make a thread on gaming side for this.
I definitely would have if I already had any details as to what the collaboration is about, but it seems kind of empty right now to make a topic for it. Square Enix is the one publishing all the COD games in Japan, right? It's supposed to be announced at some point during TGS, and I'm sure Gaming side will pick up on it.

Anyway, looks like a website for the collaboration is live now, but also with nothing showing yet:

No, they see through the myth of HD and paying more money for yaoi porn!

Anyone can pretend to be a woman on the internet, but have you ever actually met & conversed with one in real life who partook in the joys of blu-ray?

Yeah, I didn't think so.
Maybe the big secret is that we're all women pretending to be men?

This show has a strange ability to be cool even when they're just having a flashback for most of the episode. Loved Shou's dad and the lengths he went to for his son.

Don't know what you're trying to imply here; I meet and converse with women all the time. Did just an hour ago, in fact. I told her I didn't need the receipt.

Basically, they're just like shonen fans.

Going through my Fate Zero BD box and none of the episodes in the second half has the same hilariously inflated runtimes as those from the first half. Boo. :(

How to create a Yandere in 4 steps :

Anyway ...This was awesome
Humanity is still in decline and i want more ..
This anime shined a lot in terms of characters and the fairies were clearly the stars of this mayhem ..

the story was well done ... and overall it was an excellent RIDE

9.5/10
I feel like i can recommand this to anyone that doesn't need action in his anime stuff .....
i NEED A SEASON TWO

I'm also very surprised how they handled the lightning across the series .it did make a good impression on me..

Hard to animate much faster when you have to compulsively add five layers of shading to everything.

I'd forgotten how bad the animation in that looks. Even the iffy character animation in his new Star Wars clip looks substantially better.

Dammed by faint praise.

As I was typing the above response to Nafe, I remembered that this was the case with Night on the Galactic Railroad as well - Haruomi Hosono (with a little help from Dvorak) was/is an experimental electronic musician who rarely composed filmic soundtracks before or since then.

I'll have to raise that film up on my priority list then; sounds like good stuff.

X The Movie was one of the first animus I ever watched, back when it was commonly recommended to newbies for some reason probably relating to violence, and I definitely remember it being both deeply stupid/nonsensical and gorgeous.

It's got flashy action, gratuitous gore, lots of destruction, and bare boobs - everything you'd want from your 90s anime!

Can't say it looks promising when you advertise a show with an image featuring speed lines and presumably no real animation.
It not really something you'd normally feature in your promotional art, but then again perhaps I have a different sense of aesthetics to those advertising JoJo's.

Might get better when they get to the UBW and HF openings. This is just for Fate. Also, considering this is for a Vita game, I can't see anyone really putting in much effort as it is. What's the point?! :D

It's a good thing people over on Gaming don't read this thread or their conspiracy theories would be further fuelled!

There are no director's cuts? That would be really disappointing.

No, there's a few episodes with a decent amount of content added in. But, the longest episode out of the lot is the second to last episode, which barely exceeds 25 min (and most of that was just the OP tacked back on) and falls short of episode 11's awesome 29+ min.

Well, at least that's something. You'll have to tell us if
Saber/Berserker
makes any more sense this time.

So they just did some tweaking. That's fine with me anyway but I'm curious what they did with the Saber stuff.
