Also this episode made me realize that I forgot about TUXEDO RAMASAMA. I guess this is another thing I can give S credit for. Phasing him out, mainly because Neptune and Uranus have been doing his job. Man, Mamoru of now is like a different beast in comparison to the first two seasons. Smug as fuck in the first one, a douchebag in the second one.

Anyway, not too much to say on this one, and I decided to look at the previews for once to see if I should do another episode tonight.... and it looks like I will.

That Shokew fight was DOPE. Suckah was like, "I can take two of you not-Zakus!" and he DID. The Shokew is like some kind of bizarro, yellow, insect themed future Hyaku Shiki Gundam prototype. Thing looks way better than the Gundam AGE-0. Anyway, Uso's friend is a total wuss and doesn't realize already that she-.

Oh GOD DAMMIT.

Is there some element of this show that Gundam AGE didn't completely taint for me? The whole set up sounds like it. The loser female friend who is already replaced by another girl. The ambiguously brown pilot who is so much better than the hero it hurts. The AGE and the Victory look alike. All I need is for there to be an overbearing old man and some ugly as fuck martians and that'll be it.

Well Heil Uso, then.

THIS EPISODE! This FUCKING EPISODE! This is the new greatest episode ever! An episode on Minako and her (im)pure-ness. It's too good.

She's upset because she's the only one who wasn't attacked. She wanted to get attacked, having fits of creep factor, getting throttled by Usagi for thinking she wants to get attacked by a Daimon. She's going out of her way to make sure she's pure. That's the most impure thing ever. It also made me realize she was never attacked, but I guess that was because we had a Minak--- Maybe it was because she fucked the wrong kind of pussy in the end of that episode???

Nah.

Having her heart crystal stolen resulted in one of the greatest things ever. Having her shield her heart crystal, grin like a chipmunk and run off with it into a parking lot. That was fucking amazing to show what impurity can do to you in a GOD DAMN KIDS SHOW! It was so great it overshadows the fact that the Senshis and the enemy know who they are.... and Eudial didn't die yet either! THIS IS THE POWER OF MINAKO HAX

I knew this was going to happen when my prediction was confirmed to be right on the mark
Prediction was that 2 of the talismins will be closer than we imagined... and it just happened to be Neptune and Uranus. I'm guessing the other one could be Pluto or Chibi-Moon... or the loli that hasn't appeared yet.
NEVERMIND THE FUCKING SPOILER ASS TITLE but

This was rather... brutal to see
I mean what the fuck is with them having brutal as hell deaths. Neptune certainly got it worse than Uranus, getting shot up by bullets... TWICE and then getting shot point blank to boot, and Uranus just fucking SHOT herself to give Usagi the other talisman

They even set the mood just right at the beginning of the episode. None of the happy fun times, but just to set the right tone for this episode right down to
Michiru and Haruka embracing each others hand because Neptune knew what her fate would be

Apparently this is how we move plot in S. It won't be the same from here on ._.

I know it isn't anime, but I never go to Manga GAF, so

Full Metal Panic! Sigma Vol. 18

DAMN DAMN DAMN
So awesome! The Laevatein is super broken! We're talking that thing riding in on the X-13 or whatever firing all those missiles and looking like a less laser filled Freedom Gundam. Just awesome! Almost wish I'd had the extra cash to spring for that part of the model. Anyway, they get you to are about the death of a minor character in this one by having AL care about it in a human way. And then Mao and Ben are up against two venoms with their last-gen M9s, and Tessa has to kiss the TDD-1 good bye after thoroughly fucking up the US Navy with it.

And there's a part where Tessa delivers the information to Sousuke necessary to make Leonard break down and it is pretty damn sinister. Like, I mean, really, Tessa is just plain ready to knife him. She tells Sousuke "I don't care if he dies" which is only fair, since Leonard has basically done this same to her. Tessa's character has come a long way since the show began, and in spite of her still looking like a goofy teenage girl, she's definitely deserving of her position and has certainly come into her own, especially after cutting the strings with Sousuke.

The single best part of the entire volume, though, is Sousuke's speech to Kaname. Having been through Hell to save this girl, and having seen her fuck his plans to save him up (albeit with good reason), Sousuke has decided that enough is enough and that saying "I love you" isn't enough to snap her out of it. So he goes in the other direction and just rips into her so fucking hard that when he arrives at calling her a bitch she's just stunned. I can only hope this breaks her out of it, because it would certainly be symmetrical if, after Gauron's praise, Chidori's condemnation was what saved Sousuke, and after Leonard's praise, Sousuke's condemnation was what saved Chidori.

Uuuuuuuuugh. Can't wait for the last volume to come oooooout. Why couldn't the ARX-8 be in a SRW game?

According to ANN, the Katyusha song in GuP that was missing from the Simulcast is getting changed due to licensing reasons for Sentai's US release. :/

As for Girls und Panzer, Sentai also has the OVA, but it will be released separately from the TV series. However, the character intro episodes (episodes 5.5 and 10.5) will be included with the TV release, but will be subtitled-only. The scene from episode eight that was missing from the simulcast will be restored in this release, but due to licensing issues, the song has been changed.

A few more bits of news that have popped up that I don't think have been covered as yet (all stolen from Moonphase and Ikari Gendo's Twitter, or already covered by ANN...)

- Starchild have announced an anime airing in October based around the Miss Monochrome Vocaloid-style character, voiced by Yui Horie. Apparently Miss Monochrome is a character in a smartphone renai game. My interest - zero. You can see a music video on the link.

- Yowamushi Pedal has a short PV up. More lycra, and ergo less UPPER BODY, than Free. I'm mildly impressed with the cycling sequences - of course they're going to be CG backdrops for the movement, but at least they've done something that isn't just speedlines (of course, the PV probably includes all the animated cuts for the entire show...)

- Wake Up Girls is portraying itself as the most :firehawk idol show ever, with a ridiculously nothingy trailer. I am amused to see that Yamakan lets himself be credited for Fractale!

- No-Rin also has a trailer out. I think this is moe Silver Spoon? Haven't watched the trailer, the moeblob girl on the website put me off.

This Silver Spoon adaptation really suffers from some bad production at times. A lot of times.

A season 2 of Tonari no kaibutsu kun could actually work. The manga's ending really soon here.

Unless that extra ova coming with the final volume is going to wrap it up.

Well, most 80's works have that aesthetic to some degree or another but I suppose some of the better one's include Kimagure Orange Road, and Maison Ikkoku but when I think about 80's character designs I tend to think of Kenichi Sonoda's work on a number of different titles.

This anime is so much much better when it's like this.

I won't lie when i heard of neptunia getting an anime i was certain it would suck...

But how i was wrong... and this episode continue the trend , while "by the books" was certainly excellent on all fronts.
Neptunia the animation is excellent .

Arfoire , as a vilain is awesome , with some lines that stood out and the fact that she seemed capable and was defeated because the plot needed it.

Anyway i'm liking what i've seen so far ... neptunia the animation knows when to be serious and when the be goofy and the result is an anime that works and that i have a hard time to find faults in.It's self-aware and the result just works even out of context , case in point :

Well-made episode as usual. I really like this shot:

We see a foot reaching towards some sort of strange, abstract, cut up patterns whose meaning is unclear. It's only when the next shot pulls out:

that we recognize these patterns as sandals. The transformation of the familiar into the alien - such is what happens when the human world is experienced from the scale of a doll. The show has done well in bringing out that incongruity of subject and setting; the shower fight in this episode did so in another way (and was an amusing scenario to boot).

Next week is the first episode that Shinichi Omata did not storyboard. However, the next episode preview showed the same visual finesse I've come to expect in its art and layouts, so I'm not expecting any significant drop in quality because of that.
