Mobile Suit Victory Gundam 14

-LOL at Uso teaching Shakti how to apply lipstick. Completely ruin the mood of the scene, why don't we?
-Lt. Cronicle's relationship with Katejina creeps me out.
-Lt. Cronicle behaves like a petty child, throws a fit at everyone, takes his ball and goes home.
-Even Uso is horrified to learn he cares about Shakti's safety. Uso is a huge chump the whole scene and doesn't realize Katejina is into older men in masks. Fucking Karlman shut up or die, please, that's all I ask. Die die die I hate you so much.
-The battle music in this episode is cheery as Hell.
-Everyone agrees that fighting by the MRD is a bad thing, but they ALL do it anyway.

Ahahaha. Really? Fucking REALLY? This show is shit. I can't even.
This member of the Shrike team spoke and then died. Kinda exactly the same thing that happened LAST episode. I mean, REALLY. You couldn't avoid doing this same boring as fuck, overused plotline TWICE IN A FUCKING ROW?

Fuck this show. The only saving grace at this point is that
there aren't enough members of the Shrike Team to kill them one per episode for the next 40 episodes.

Any interest I might have had for this show is completely and utterly shot by this cheap, trite, hackneyed melodramatic bullshit. Why did no one warn me that Victory Gundam was the Gundam AGE of UC?

The OST is rad so I picked this back up. Hajime is so bouncy and I like her, both her endless optimism and the curious, understated intelligence. Hajimessu! Or something.

Galax seems rather overdone, but it's really just a step removed from the stuff we have - okay, maybe two steps - and ultimately, unless its application becomes too overbearing, I won't mind much. Show still looks rough.

Best Foreign? I dunno. Then again, I have no idea what "real" Japanese films have come out this year.

Like Father Like Son (そして父になる) is a super sappy Japanese drama about a dad who's distant from his family and is the salaryman stereotype who finds out his son got switched at birth with some poor family's kid. It won a special prize at the Cannes Film Festival. If Japan is gonna push a movie for the Oscars, that would probably be it.

Miyazaki has won a bunch of Japanese Academy Awards. If they could, they'd push him for the best foreign Oscar. Its just that this one won at Cannes so it might be the better choice.

Some stuff. It was watched.

Dog and Scissors 9 - More hijinx, more crushing, and a bit of plot thats carrying on through episodes. Fun for me.

The World God Only Knows - Goddesses 8 - Interesting episode. And interesting reaction from our hero when he finally got to speak to Kanon again.

A Town Where You Live 7 - Well that didn't go as I expected. And ends on a ominous note from Yuzuki...even if with outside knowledge we know its not true.

Hellsing Ultimate OVA

Pretty good. Didn't take itself too seriously. People went crazy. The
Rip Van Winkle
scene was pretty awkward even after all the gore in the series.

zomg its finally here!!!!

GATCHAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!

But the best song out of the ost is this.

Music goes on

Based Iwasaki. And the show actually makes good use of his work this time!

I'm gonna go to work tomorrow listening to this.

This will be so good .

I'm at work right now listening to this.

It's so good.

Bakemonogatari 12

I never got around to watching this episode which is strange, since hosanna told me that this was all Senjyogahara all the time, so I should have jumped at it immediately. Either way, she continues to prove that she's amazing. Having her father drive them and having those conversations anyway, damn, she knew what a vice grip she was putting on his balls and she loved it. And her reactions when he called her "Senjyogahara" "Father, Araragi is trying to thank you for something." Too good. Araragi says he doesn't want her sharp tongue and abusive remarks, I say fuck you, that's why she's so great. But Araragi actually had a really nice talk with Mr. Senjyogahara. Perhaps that's why she didn't mind squeezing Araragi's balls. And I would kill to hear what she whispered in his ear.

Point is, Hitagi Senjyogahara > you. Deal with it.

Best Senjougahara episode. For all that she's one of my least favourite girls in the series, she's still fuck-awesome. Monogatari standards are just that much higher.

I also enjoyed how well this episode fit with the show's ED. It really does work quite well as a series finale, even though it's ostensibly in the middle of an arc with three rather important episodes left to cover afterwards.

So there's four OVAs apparently that I also have to watch? Then it's Neko or Nise (which apparently is sub-par)?

I wouldn't call Nise sub-par exactly, it still has some amazing moments. It's just that the actual plot doesn't feel as clear in focus as most of the arcs in Bake, so it loses a little of the momentum.

I see Tomoko growing up to be one of those hyper sexual escorts just to keep up these delusions....

as for now - shes much uglier version of rin from KNJ.

What. Comparing Tomoko to godlyRin? I don't even.

luls @ Homura annihilating two big names in a single round. Also luls at Ai-chan Daishourihaiboku!

By the way, only one character failed to win even a single match, and it was:

Oh, Tsukihi. That's what you get for barely featuring in your own arc.

What the fuck is up with Araragi and that little girl? He almost molested her. Goddamn he needs to get his ass kicked.

Araragi just has a powerful best girl sensor. Probably in his ahoge. Mayoi > all.

...Although considering the most recent Monogatari SS episode, it could also just be that he's a massive lolicon. Either way, he's got the swag to pull it off. Go go Ararararararagi.

Bakemonogatari 14

Just heard Sengoku's voice for the first time since watching Steins;Gate, and realized they had the same seiyuu. I had to check. If she said "Too-too-roo", I would have known for sure.

Dat HanaKana gets everywhere. Can't really complain.

Flowers of Evil 8: World's Longest Walking Scene, WORLD'S WORST FUCKING CLIFFHANGER

And by worst, you mean best.

...And by longest, you also mean best.

The funny part about this is that this is exactly the premise of an ABC family show called Switched At Birth. Rich family's daughter gets swapped with a single mom's daughter and wackiness ensues.

but, basically, true scholar MDWigs says everything you need to know about the beginning of that mess:

Damn, never thought I'll see old Wigs name mentioned here lol. He was a chill dude to talk to back in the day.

zomg its finally here!!!!

But the best song out of the ost is this.

Iwasaki da gawd is finally back, now he needs to get announced for Kill la Kill (or did someone already get that gig?)

That's kinda weird; this isn't like Madoka where they left you baited for the ending. That last episode probably would have served well as an ending. But okay, I'll watch them. And it's a bit reassuring to hear somebody likes Nise.

Well Bakemonogatari was originally going to be 12 episodes but they increased it to 15 and with how timeslots work in Japan they had to air the original 12 and than finish it off as OVAs. Snail, Monkey and Cat got an extra episode each.

And yeah novel readers knew straight away what the stopping point was going to be for the tv run and said it was a pretty decent spot. But it's only the first few chapters of that 5th bakemonogatari "book".

I wouldn't call Nise sub-par exactly, it still has some amazing moments. It's just that the actual plot doesn't feel as clear in focus as most of the arcs in Bake, so it loses a little of the momentum.

Doesn't Nisio himself consider it sub par?

But still it had it's moments, and some good foreshadowing for later events, I like read the spoiler for one of the later novels, watched a certain episode and was like, Based Nisio delivers!

Also can't forget this guy.

I think it's very rare for a cartoon to be put up for Best Foreign Film - the only nominee I can think of is Waltz With Bashir. I suspect they'll keep plopping Ghibli films in Best Animated Film.

I'm still rooting for Wolf Children to somehow end up being eligible and nominated at some point...

That was such a BS ending to this episode. The drama on the next few episodes will probably make me rage very hard.
Yura's turned into such a piece of shit.

Last day of work, which makes me really sore at the fact that the weather resulted in me getting less work in the past couple weeks. On top of that, I managed to literally feel miserable, as if I haven't eaten anything, and nearly passed out while I was working... with sheers in my hands.

Sadly strain sort of put pressure to the 3DSXL screen, so screen scratches. Yay :/ (nowhere near as horrible as the OG 3DS so I'll managed. After work, started feeling even more light headed again, but I went to the food pantry for... food, in which I felt miserable again. So 2 hours later, we leave, go to Winery's. Decided to eat one of those cinnamon rolls... Broke a fork in the process rather easily. Attempted to give a company some money for something I wanted. NOPE! Can't even let you buy something you've wanted for over half a year now, because for some reason, I can't have fun today. Guess that Cure Marine
Super Silhoutte
figure will have to go find another owner.

:( That sucks

What do you mean the last day of work?

The Mild one. Ahaha.
That was pretty amazing. Especially when Makio got involved.
Quite the cliffhanger of an ending too. When things were going so well too. Someone needs to make a GIF of that door scene. That killed me.

Cute as usual. Shino was shafted though.
that ribbon looked atrocious sorry Alice.
Naturally the :SDBurton is still going strong in this.

Yeah, seeing the trailers for it, that seemed like whatever the Japanese equivalent of "Oscarbait" is. As embarassing as Japan's live-action film industry is, I don't think they want to put an animated film up for Best Foreign if they can help it.

I'm still rooting for 許されざる者, their remake of Unforgiven starring Watanabe Ken.

Though maybe I'm hoping for too much.

I was not in the right mood for this at all :/. So much more uncomfortable than in the manga since they dragged part of it out.

Nah it isnt that bad.

Why do I actually want to buy a fucking Auris of all things?

Is that a Toilet Paper god?

Just steal the GPS out of one! Dont saddle yourself with a subpar car.

This is absolutely amazing character design.

She reminds me a LOT of Yuko Kanoe in Dusk Maiden Amnesia.

I have a suggestion.

Can we start putting the seasonal anime OT's at the beginning of the OP in community? It would make it much easier to keep track of them. This thread is always updated so it would be an easy way to find one of those threads.

Hanamonogatari will get a TV anime in 2014. I guess after the third season Monogatari will be like 100 episodes long + movie.

The fuck are shaft doing? I guess/hope they include one more out of the 4 novels that make up the "final" season with Hana, make it 10-11 episodes and than use the final 3 for another one cour series.

Though I have no idea what happens in the final "season", so no idea if that's even feasible.

And yeah I bet this is out before Kizumonogatari.

Another japan.anime.evangelion veteran, perhaps?

Nah, Animeboards which used to be Evaboards (or Eva2000?) I think, was like 13 years ago lol. I also posted on Animenation's forums (lol Ask John) and Wigs went to that site as well after Animeboards pretty much died.

New CM for Kill la Kill is imminent, airing after tomorrow's episode of Love Lab. Will feature all new footage and the first preview of the OP song "Sirius".

Also, this is apparently the first Nisekoi anime visual, though I'm not 100% sure of it.
edit: just alerted to the lower-right corner showing that Nobuhiro Sugiyama (Arakawa Under the Bridge, ef: a tale of melodies/memories) is the character designer.

If the visuals aren't cute as the anime I'll be so disappointed. T_T

There's Raku.
When will we get even the slightest tidbits on the assassination classroom anime sp instead of just brief mentions in chapters :/

i know this catter to a certain "genre" but i can't help but scream at the wasted opportunity when i look at the swimsuits designs.

Even when catering to the fetish it seems kind of half assed. Don't most school swimsuits have a name and class number on them? Plus Joshiraku exposed us all to the absurd variety those swimsuits come in. Nuance and variety like that would've had the obsessives paying huge premiums to get the type they like servicing them. Also annoyed that one of them is wearing heels, her feet are going to be killing her at the end of the day.

Heh, amusing choice of show to air it with. Why can't it be October already?

My god listening to this Gatchaman OST is fucking awesome. Thank you based Iwasaki.

My picks :

-Gatchaman~In the name of Love
-Music goes on - Definitely the best song of the OST hands downs.
-Gatchadance
-Unbeatable Network
-Ziel der Hydra - It's basically Jojo's Avalon and Gurren Lagann's Libera me from hell lady opera singing.

It is so very nice to see people are finally turning on Watamote's wretched sense of humor, very gratifying.

Eh, I still love it. I haven't been able to paint her in an endearing light since episode 3 but I'm still coming out of every episode enjoying things. I don't buy the idea that the whole show is orchestrated to cruelly abuse Tomoko for some twisted joke because at the end of day things aren't that bad for her and life goes on. Maybe if they threw in some crippling debt, terminal illness, abusive family, and bullying at school then I could see where this idea is coming from. Until then she's just perpetually stuck at square one which isn't really much different from how most sitcoms work.

I will admit though that it really saddens me that she can't appreciate how kind people around her are and how relatively good she has things but even if I find that tragic it's far from being a cruel joke.

I compiled a short list of whatever I could find here but nobody mentioned anything about it :|

Actually I should add Branduil's Rozen Maiden thread to the list now too.

It's basically a romcom, but with almost nonsensical supernatural nonsense thrown in. At its heart, it's your standard "hapless and extremely thick protagonist coupled with an extreme tsundere" set up.

Hey animegaf.
I was wondering if you guys could recommend me some fast paced shounen.
Anything like JoJo or Hunter x Hunter.
What do you guys think is good?
