Doremi couldn't read traffic, time to shame her.

Today is actually a bit of a commentary on "typecasting" due to circumstances of a character, like Hazuki being a director because... her dad is one. And boy was there a lot of stress on her because of her inability to make her own decisions.

Nobu sure likes writing about herself, and only Aiko understands her too, that's how deep they are with each other.

Damn work. Onpu needs more screen time. I guess that's something I can't wait for Motto! to do.

Highschool DxD New 8

Vali plays the role of a much cooler rival really well. Really hope he doesn't turn out to be a dick just to make me hate him.

Rias father looks just as awesome as her older brother. Though, Levi takes the prize in best character introduced this episode. Would not mind if she appears again just to embarrass her younger sister.

Catching up on this thread since I was gone for a while and from what I've skimmed I'm disappointed that no one seems to have pointed out how Gatchaman Crowds constantly advocates for anarchy and for a while argued for gamification as a way to transition into that. Mostly disappointed because I don't think I'm articulate enough to lay out a good detailed post highlighting it and sort of assumed someone else picked up on it and did the legwork for me.

Monogatari SS 9 (Kabukimonogatari 3)

This material is making me more and more glad that I decided to read Kizumonogatari in preparation for this season. Aside from the obvious connections with all the vampire antics, it helps me catch the little things about Shinobu's character as well. One random little observation (Kizu spoilers):
Shinobu's habit of kneading her head with her knuckles when she's thinking is clearly a holdover from when she used to literally reach into her own brain in order to remember things back in her Kisshot days.
Somehow I think that actually makes it more cute. Go figure.

It really does enhance the show in interesting little ways. I remember finding it unnerving last episode when Shinobu believed that
saving hachikuji was merely delaying her inevitable death
and coming from a vampire who was
suicidal this takes on an alarming context
. People who've never read Kizumonogatari are really missing out on these neat little cues.

It's almost like shaft's clusterfuck management is actively screwing over viewers.

Be careful what you wish for. :/

As a gamer, I should've known better than to wish for something. It always backfires to some degree.

Ojamajo Doremi #39

A continuation from last episode where Onpu had to leave to film Gazamadon Episode 1, we actually go to the set and deal with a brat who really wants to be with his friends. And it was all a dream.

Next episode is apparently that episode that was being ushered. I'm going to make it the last Doremi episode for the night (maybe even the last episode of anime tonight).

Monogatari second season - 09

At least the way the world changed was explained. i liked shinobu & aragi dialog and i especially liked the fact that they stayed sane enough to deduct what hapenned.

I'm so sorry, because I said Motto made me like Onpu-chan more, because I didn't like her in the first season, the second season started the healing process and Motto made me love her.

Next episode is apparently that episode that was being ushered. I'm going to make it the last Doremi episode for the night (maybe even the last episode of anime tonight).

Yes, finally!!

Smh.. hating on best character, why its always happened to you :(

I like you, ferty, but no way in Hell is Rika Domeki the best character in Dai-Guard. She's shrill, annoying, and kinda cliche, and that's before she mind raped Ibuki. How can you possibly see Rika as a sympathetic, good, or positive character after what she does to Ibuki? She doesn't even APOLOGIZE for it!

Rika was a worse monster than any of the Heterodynes.

novid banned?

I know, I kinda missed that! Wonzo's Fight Club quip had me in stitches, though.

Does Novid have a twitter, though? I would follow that.

...I don't know if I can even put commentary for this episode. I was already a wreck as it was going and then I hit a wall right at the end on the Feelings Train.

I can't collect my thoughts like this, it's just....

It really is "THE ONE" for #... I just can't...

I can't state why this was just so good. Outside of... it feels like tying up a subplot really well, and a fantastic family bonding episode...

If you're watching Ojamajo Doremi, you owe it to yourselves to get here.

Holland! A new place on the list for anime characters to live out their dreams.

New favorite character, etc, etc.

Also best use of Cruel Angel Thesis I have seen yet.

Whoever said watch the # movie after 36 is fired.
Not me, I said to watch it before 40!

And yes, episode 40 is wonderful, heartfelt, and touching. It's also grounded in everyday family concerns, something you wouldn't expect in a kids show, much less a magical girl show.

Makes better sense too, because the reference in 37, while the main cause of the problem in the movie, is like... eh, whereas the end just ties straight into 40.

Although you didn't answer me back when I asked when I should watch it, and that's how "Before 37" happend >:l

But whatever. Not sure if they really should've made it a movie considering how important it is.

When should I watch the Motto! movie so I can be prepared ahead of time.

I swear, every week. I don't think "no manga spoilers" is a difficult rule to understand but apparently it is for some people.

You mean they're not just speculation or educated guesses?!

edit: wait was it Cloudy again? That's what he was banned for last time if so. lol

Well that was really good, pumped for 3.33 can't wait to see what all the whining was about

Dammit, the wait for 3.33 will be forever, hell of a cliffhanger.

I really enjoyed that. I'm really interested in 3.33 now

I've been meaning to watch 3.33 for a while now....Might get around to it this weekend.

So now I really want to see 3:33. I'm guessing that will be another Toonami movie night?

The poor souls.

(I say that because I was in their shoes once.)

Evangelion 2.22

Maybe it's because I just finished episodes 16-20 an hour before the movie aired, but I really wasn't feeling it that much this time around.

What happened to Asuka sucked

It doesn't get referenced until like Motto ep 46 in passing and then with importance in Dokkan. Just watch it sometime after the beginning.

That's kind of lame.

I like that movies are canon, but it's like... think of the people who couldn't watch this.

Oh well. 40 was emotionally draining. Think I'm done for the night.

Don't go any further.

3.0 is brilliant in its own special little way. As a piece of fan trolling, expectation defying crazy, it's quite something to watch. Plot is incoherent, but that actually didn't bug me much. Excited to see what crazy 4.0 brings.

As a film, though, it's not very good.

Well, that was really fucking weird. Also somewhat a waste of my time.
At least it had a... unique style.

edit: oh, and the joke with the
super-loud porn vending machine
was amusing.

I just recently finished Red Garden (TV) and I'll get to the OAV tomorrow. I'm feeling torn about whether to praise the pacing and lack of action or criticize it. I definitely found my interest waning, but amount of attention paid to dealing with the first kill was pretty novel. This also extends to the amazing amount of time focused on reconciling their old life with their new one.

The contrivances to create drama were pretty bad though. It wasn't in the same league as Madoka, Blood + or Heart Connect, but it still detracted from the overall experience. It won't replace Kaleido Star as my favorite Gonzo series. Or, approach the Count of Monte Cristo, but it beats Trinity Blood and Witchblade.

Turn A Gundam 32

So I dare say it looks like I was not wholly wrong about this Guin Rhineford guy. Dude lost all power at one point, and via sheer charisma and also constant fucking of Lily Borjano, has made his way to where he sits in a space warship and can look into the faces of men who at one point in the show flat out rejected his command and tell them that he will burn their soldiers with space age hellfire if they don't do what he orders. I don't know about Agrippa Maintainer, but since Major Phil is allied with Poe I can conclude his rebellion will not succeed. Meaning that Guin Rhineford is still the most probable candidate for villain at this juncture.

Of note and worth asking is about the Willgame's cannon. The Willgame is armed with a Mega Particle Cannon, and I've heard variations of this weapon spoken of all throughout UC. Notably, the ZZ Gundam sported a High Mega Cannon in its skull (which was pretty freaking insane, really, giving a Gundam that kind of fire power). So while I assume that a warship's MPC would be more powerful than one built into a Gundam, I feel the need to ask if that is indeed the case, since this IS Gundam.

Also, I find that when the White Doll/White Devil/Gundam is brought up in Turn A, it makes a lot more sense to view it as a legend than it does for people in UC proper to do so, since the events of MSG, assuming they and the UC are canon to TAG, would have happened during the Dark History (or prior to the events therein) and rightfully belong to the age of legend.

Now, I realize you're all miles and miles ahead of me on all this, but here's my speculation regarding what happened at the moment:
UC2 ends, right? As in Victory is over and the Federation and the inhabited space realm is where it is. I know we had this great long talk, but for me the Federation is still the dominant military force for the entirety of UC and its successor century. Anyway, something happens and triggers another Gundam conflict, leading to the legend of the Ades Branch. This something is an event which requires the vast majority of Earth's remaining population leave the Earth behind. The colonies, having been disaffected by years of Federation rule, use this disaster to sever any ties with the Federation, which either sparks a war annihilating them all, or results in a resolution to leave Earth and its Moon alone.

Several hundred or so years pass by, and the age of the Earth Federation passes into myth and legend for the people of Earth and distant and murky history for the Moonrace. Here I would argue that the Moonrace may have maintained some contact with whoever else survived the Federation's end, such as Martians or Jovians, but they may have simply been aware that other survivors existed, since they bothered to keep building MSes. The Turn A is the Gundam of the era of whatever disaster spelled the end of the Earth Federation and most life on Earth, and was kept there. This is why, in spite of not looking terribly like THE Gundam, the Turn A is still an accepted Gundam on sight.

During the years between the Federation's Fall and the Moonrace's return, Dianna is made Queen of the Lunarians, and is kept in Cold Sleep for however many hundreds of years while they wait for the Earth to recover.

I'm very split on 3.0. On the one hand, I think it really ruined and derailed all the good that 2.0 had built up, but on the other hand, given the title and the overall theme of the movie, I think that was the point.

I would have loved to see Anno actually make a serious attempt at following up 2.0 and giving Eva an interesting new ending. Still, I'm not sure he's capable of it. If he's not, I think the direction he went is way better than half-assing a serious go at it.

Even if Eva 4.0 is a complete flop and doesn't deliver on either serious plot or crazy, we will always have the end of Rebuild 2.0. For that, I will always be grateful to the rebuild films. If that's all we get, than it's still worth it.

Seems kinda pointless to make all these idol groups if you're just gonna merge 'em together for a Summer Tour. Atleast the Tristar drama's over and done with but I'm kinda bummed we hardly ever see the other characters anymore. Clearly this means the show needs more POWAPOWA PURIRIN:

I wouldn't even attribute trolling to it - the movie is simply bad.

3.0 is totally trolling. It's about reading the expectations of the fandom and going in as far the opposite direction as possible. It doesn't do that in a way that makes plot sense, but it does enough to keep me interested.

The angry reaction to it was the point all along.

Its doing good for her! Btw I like that as slap to Ibuki's naivety.. I don't see Domeki as sympathetic, but her wackiness are fun.. Very memorable character, and her quote about humanity should just got used with Heterodynes as one of natural disaster are really unique in mecha show that usually just want to get rid of these monsters forever.

Eva 3.3 -LIVEUPDATING COMMENT-

Well this is weird.

I call bullshit on piano-playing abilities, Shinji

This is a lotta shit to push on Shinji, but hey, it's kinda deserved yo. Although maybe he'd be less of a brat if you bothered to fucking explain anything to him!

Oh man the new nerv logo is cool. Why does every new scene have to take place in a weird, trippy environment? Can't even play Shogi without being in a beam of light in a pitch-black room.

Ho boy, now we're just infodumping on Shinji. Maybe you should've done this years ago and then none of this shit would've happened.

Wow. This is the dumbest freakout sequence I've ever seen.

//resume

Man, Kaworu really is just a magic dude huh. OH BOY, JAEGER TIME

Well shit. At least this fight is fucking baller.

Seriously though Shinji, do you even know what you're doing? Or why?

/edit I... uh... what

//edit ASUKA, WAT
