I can understand not liking Anthy. She's a really tough character to parse. She has so many layers of masks that it makes her hard to relate to and can make her actions seem completely bullshit and nonsensical. Those aspects can get really annoying at times. Still, she gets enough moments of being truly human that I find I've taken a liking to her. The moment she confesses to Utena that
she really wants more friends
I felt worked quite well.

My problem with that moment comes later, when
Anthy's personality is thrown entirely into question as it varies from Groom to Groom.
But I dunno. I just took a long, long time to warm up to her. The last two episodes sort of helped me understand why.

Does anyone know if I need to see another show before I watch Dai-Guard? Because the OP has this like, early 00s Ska feel to it, and let me tell you that alone has me wanting to watch the show.

I get that. She's so damn hard to read. I feel like I've seen some moments that are truly genuine, though, and those really help make her more than just a doll.

Space Bros Moonshot

Hey, that's Rick Grimes and a vampire!

I just bring this up because I finally watched this yesterday. It wasn't really remarkable, other than the gimmick of using the actual mission logs in place of the actors speaking during the mission, but the way they wrote the arc of the space race reminded me that Space Bros uses Brian Jay much in the same way that the Apollo 1/Grissom death is used in these moon landing narratives as an inspirational moment to get NASA to achieve the moon landing before 1970.

I can't believe I didn't notice that. But then again, I guess I've been so uninspired by NASA in the last decade that I forgot all the Apollo stuff. Still, an easy parallel to make anyway.

Maybe I should watch Space Brothers. Although I'm afraid to since it's got so many episodes now.

Le Chevalier D'Eon 10

I'm surprised that D'Eon is allowed to send that letter back to Anna. I mean, it's not like he didn't reveal anything that their enemies don't already know, but still.

Durand's womanizing ass getting put in his place put a nice little smirk on my face :lol

But I don't think Voronsov is as dumb as this alchemist dude thinks he is.
I think he knew that the blood and the assassination was faked on first examination, and, in knowing he was going to be busted, played it off, let his boss (who he hated) get busted and let him get a second chance at whatever his goal is.

Oh is that their game?
So then Lia must know the Royal Psalms. Good luck getting them out of her though, or holding onto her soul. She's already on unstable ground inside D'Eon and even Queen Marie couldn't suss out what was in the Psalms or who took them. Who is paying them though?

Oh and about the Psalms.
They've shown that they are capable of controlling the Gargoyles but now they are capable of twining still living humans? So, why didn't they use it on say our Crew earlier on? Or why didn't Voronsov run? What are the limits of their powers?

Oh man, you're playing right into it, guys. I got a bad feeling about this.

This is some pretty decent sakuga sword-play, I like it.

The Revolutionary Brethren again. Are they the name of our enemy group. I'll call them the RevBros.
And again, no one is fucking calling out Robin on what Psalms are.
They've been basically just shown to be spells but no is at all surprised. Why?!

A sacrifice? How many sacrifices do the Royal Psalms need? Just what are they? My current theory is that they're either some sort of scrying/future-sight spell or maybe some sort of time travel spell. I'm not sure what that wasn't basically just a super-weapon would warrant such a high cost.

Nononononono
don't go in there Empress! They're totally gargoyles! OH SHIT SON

Actually
I think that book Max has is the royal psalms. Based on the lengths that he would go for simply a drop of blood to reveal a message in it, and that Marie said they would reveal the future of France (I think that's what she said) they must be some sort of future-sight or a prophecy by someone. But who?

Okay, so what's been stolen now? There's a rock, something that the fortune teller was using (possibly the rock), a ladle, and something from the a capella club. I really don't know where they're going with this. Sounds like a list of items that Kenan would tell Kel to get at the end of an episode of Kenan & Kel.

Why couldn't Mayaka just tell the lassies at the Manga Society that she was going to take a break at noon and to have somebody cover for her? Like that Miku cosplayer. What's she doing? Get her to work.

Speaking of Mayaka, if I was her, my final dish would be to take that onion and chuck it at that fucking announcer's head. And I would have won, because no dish would be as satisfying as that douchebag shutting the fuck up. Goddamn I wanted him and everybody even mildly associated with him dead and dismembered.

I don't know what that girl from the astronomy club (the crazy one from the film club) was trying to cook, but I think I'd rather eat nitroglycerin over noodles.

And meanwhile, as all this was going on, Oreki sat and watched from above. .Well, he threw down a bag of flour to Satoshi that ended up saving them in the contest, but yeah. Is he really that lazy and apathetic? I don't know. I guess I get it; I'm very introverted and would be exhausted from being out in that festival for even a little while...but shit, I'd feel like crap if I just sat all by myself while all this was happening the whole time. Maybe it's because he doesn't feel he belongs in an environment like that, or feels he isn't welcome (I feel like that sometimes).

Or maybe he's lazy and just doesn't give a fuck. I don't know. I'll see.

Shoujo anime gotta do shoujo stuff. Creepy how I watched this just after reading hosanna's Jewelpet impressions. lol

I actually felt bad for Fish Eye in this one. I mean, yes, he was always gonna sexually assault the victim of the week, but he got trolled hard. :(
Damn, Rei.
We don't get nearly enough fat magical girls. A little bit of chubbiness isn't bad.
Rabbits, moons, etc.

Ojamajo Doremi 30

I had steak subs and fries, so I decided to watch this

Hazuki was adorable this episode.

Also Dead People and Friends, and Yamauchi's voice was really odd for me. His balls must've dropped really early.

We had a touching story between a boy and his gran-

Toei what the fuck!? Why the white line at the bottom!?

Did icarus actually like Nanami or not? Haha, at first she seemed to but then later it seemed like she didn't. Maybe she was just joking.
Just to be clear, I like the dynamism that Nanami brings into the show. Seeing her trolled again and again never gets old, and her character arc is some great stuff in general. That doesn't mean she's any less likable as an actual human being. lol

It sounds like you need to rewatch Utena. lol

TWGOK S3 1

I understand wanting to get to the goddess arc quickly but skipping over Yui's arc like that

It also does't help that they crammed like 5 volumes of material into a single episode and filled with with poorly paced exposition. Just terrible all around.

Blood Lad

- Love the visual design. Dat ending
- Very funny, but expected with the source material.
- Fuyumi's chew toy status is way exaggerated
- Loved the random Hunter x Hunter, Dragonball, Sailor Moon and other such references in Staz's place

Final verdict: Nothing revolutionary but fun and does a good job of being the first episode. I'm in.

Crazy girl is named Misaki Sawakiguchi. Shes adorable and the best. No disagreement will be tolerated.

So technically the film is guaranteed for 20 minutes and the Kickstarter is $150,000 is to make it 35 minutes long in total? They're gonna need more stretch goals. Hopefully.
I hope that doesn't mean they are gonna stretch the material if they reach the mark. :/

HoTD doesn't have uncensored boobs, unless the BDs I haven't watched say otherwise.

The HoTD anime was strange in this regard. They took the bath scene from the manga in which all four of the main women are shown topless and reduced it to just the nurse, leaving the other three with soap bubbles.

Yes. In the video they say they could make it even longer, so I imagine that would happen if they go far enough beyond their initial goal. They also talk about adding more action scenes.

Watch the video, they talk about how they had to cut scenes out of the original, and how 20 minutes is too little for what they want to do with the 2nd one. It's not like they are talking about making it 2 hours long, I don't think adding a few minutes to it is going to ruin the pacing or flow, especially if they would prefer it be longer from beginning.

That makes a lot of sense; the original short felt like it was missing scenes.

I wish Trigger could get funding to do a full movie, but that isn't happening through Kickstarter.
