I'm not saying that I saw that or anything, but if I did I'd probably guess that the show is very borderline hentai... just guessing here. Though the MC is really abusive towards the girls which is kinda weird but new to see.... I'm only judging from previews, not because I saw it or anything *whistles*
Though Ladies vs Butlers is kinda the tipping point of to far for me, I mean did you see those OAV's... not that I've seen them or anything *whistles*
In English, at least, "hentai" means that something has sex in it. DxD is not hentai. It is quite ecchi at times, which in English means '[mostly female] nudity but no sex', but no, it's not hentai.
Well, there is some borderline stuff in some of the specials (the tentacle one, in particular), but that wasn't actually sex, so no, even that wasn't quite hentai, I think.
It's kinda funny that it's always episode 6 in these anime that the worst happens. High School of The Dead and now HighSchool DxD, I swear it's always episode 6 of these shows.
While I haven't seen either, I initially thought you were talking about Jubei-chan. I thought I recalled people mentioning it had well choreographed and animated fight scenes so your comment didn't make sense at first. Juden looks more like some kind of harem or something just very quickly looking it up.
Getting sleepy here, but I must stay up till WataMote airs. Gonna see if there is some random cute girls anime from this season that I can watch to kill time.

So we have a fake idol wannabe, a total babe ditz, an obsessive fujoshi and a yandere heavy metal groupie. It's quite the cast. The performances from the voice actors are really entertaining. Can't wait to see where they go with this now that all the girls are introduced.
I meant to post episode by episode discussion of this as I went, but I just didn't really have the time so here's everything in one big chunk.
This arc was setup, a ton of setup. The nice thing is, though, it doesn't feel like it. This arc has a ton of great build even within itself. There's just so many great moments to talk about. If I had to focus on what I felt was the best stuff here, it has to be each of the Student Council members individual arcs. All of these characters who are ostensibly villains get really great, complete character portraits throughout this portion of the show and they all turned out spectacularly well. Mickey's tale is really emotional, Juri's personality is explained and Saionji
is humanized
while Touga
goes from a womanizer to a complete and total shit who's clearly setup for a larger role as the show goes on.
. The moment where you see Touga
completely screw over Saionji
is absolutely infuriating in a way I wasn't expecting. His
whole creeper arc with Utena is
especially awful to see play out as well. Just some expertly well executed character building.
The show has a ton of style as well. The thematic importance of things like the Stopwatch and puppet show segments can be at times hard to parse, but it's undeniable that they give the show a really original feel. The reused animation is bothersome at first, but after a while even that just becomes part of the tone. That Student Council silhouette elevator ride, for example, is absolutely gorgeous. It's OK to see it over and over because it's just so pretty to look at.
So, yeah, this show is great. Mostly, It doesn't do everything perfectly. The stuff I had problems with this arc can all be drawn back to a single source, Nanami. That character is horrible, and not in a fun way. Her antics are just annoying. The episode that's just her trying to screw over Anthy in various ways is just awful. Only episode I'd call outright bad. Her relationship with her brother is creepy in a way that's just not all that interesting and she doesn't really add to the show. They really need to do something to change this character going forward to make it interesting.
Overall, this was a fantastic introduction arc. It sets up the characters and rules of the world expertly. Anthy and Utena are all lovable in their own ways and are just fun to see interact on screen. Clearly, the show's only going to get darker from here and I cannot wait to see how this all plays out. Thanks AnimeGaf for recommending this. I can already tell it's going to be one of my favorites.

Now the new opening , is much better than the first . i never liked "tomoyo" and this one feel more like the action anime it is.
The ending was also Vastly improved, it was featuring a character i like so i have no complains.
About the episode itself, it feel like the story just went and took a dark turn and very fast , if i hadn't seen the chimera ant arc in hunter x hunter first i would have been very surprised, but seriously , they feel the same
This feels like a cheat , thankfully the weakpoint was obvious .
The fight in this episode wasn't bad.. it just show how overpowered the protagonists became in just 3 days. and finally they will quit this city so we'll have more intresting location for the fights ..this is good.
The stopwatch has to be trolling, right? It's the only bit I absolutely cannot understand the focus on. The puppet shows, for example, make complete sense most of the time. If they aren't acting like a Greek Chorus, they're conveying something that's thematically important about the current goings on. The focus on the stopwatch is just odd.
Don't think so. If no one's claimed an OT so far, and if you think it's OT worth, than go for it. Just make sure you draw attention to it and try and maintain it after you make it.
I can understand not liking Anthy. She's a really tough character to parse. She has so many layers of masks that it makes her hard to relate to and can make her actions seem completely bullshit and nonsensical. Those aspects can get really annoying at times. Still, she gets enough moments of being truly human that I find I've taken a liking to her. The moment she confesses to Utena that
