Hyouka is fantastic, one needs to approach Tamako in a particular way to appreciate it (or else you get complaints that the show was something it never intended to be), Kyoukai has some highs and some lows, and there is no season 2 of Chuunibyou.

Yeah, of course not, but it works because the anime is consequent with this.

Yes, the bloody bird. I dropped Tamako Market after three episodes, I couldn't stand it!

There is no second season of chuu2. The show ended after one season and one OVA.

Then what's the thing that aired earlier this year?
Or was it just that bad?

What a coincidence.

Beach episode then. At least it didn't end like it normally does. :p

And what happened 15 years ago? Did they sacrifice somebody? Will hopefully find out next episode...

Apologies if already posted, and thanks to my Twitter timeline for the info, but there will be a Masaaki Yuasa artbook released in Japan on the 9th August. You can see some of the sketches on Cartoon Brew's website - they're mostly watercolours, it seems, and I'm particularly fond of this one from Kaiba:

I need this in my life. I should preorder it soon.

Eureka Seven - 8

In which Eureka gives a Bright Slap to a child.

So, I'm a little confused about
the whole old woman thing. I guess she'll get explained later on but I'm more confused as to why Holland brought her with them after they got the money. Was it out of the good of his heart or something?

Ah well, when the characters have a bad feeling about something it's usually the cue that something important's gonna happen, so I have my hopes up.

Fewer things I'd like to own more... and another reminder that I haven't seen/finished Kaiba and Tatami Galaxy.

I'd actually say she's a genuine beaver, based off her character design.

Stardust Crusaders 15

That part at the beginning between Polnareff and the old lady was amazing

Fight was pretty solid but nothing spectacular especially for a 2 part affair.

Seems really cool and interesting. Something in the back of my mind kept telling me to go finish reading Ga-Rei though. Not sure why.

Girls und Panzer Anzio OVA

Pepperoni best Anzio.
Pretty good extended episode! Being 50% longer than an episode of the TV series felt like just enough time for setup before a good 20 or so minutes of tank action. Not particularly as engaging as some of the other battles but it certainly scratched an itch from no new panzer panzers in a while. Something about them seemed unusually fast paced compared to that of the TV series. Probably just trying to put as much content in here as possible, so good enough for me.

As if it needed to be said: [best girl]Yukari's[/best girl] recon mission was fun and super informative. As expected of Yukari-dono. Also lmao at
the reason why Anzio wasn't shown at the finals in the last two TV episodes
.

Then what's the thing that aired earlier this year?
Or was it just that bad?

The series composition was utter shit. Things that should've been built throughout the season resolved in 1-2 episodes except for one pandering episode that had hooks from 2 prior episodes. The new character had about 27 minutes of screentime through 6 episodes (90% in one episode) and yet the audience was supposed to emphasize with her when her plot started later? Ishihara and Hanada gave up on it and chose to pander to fans of season 1 instead of writing a plot to develop throughout the season. Hanada worked for Love Live instead and phoned it in. Sadly, the series pandered to one subsection of fans, which meant it wasn't a financial bomb.

Basically it went (spoilered):
1. Humorous re-introduction episode bringing most characters back and parodying re-introduction episodes
2. Nice romantic episode for reasons mentioned below
3. Introduced new character
4. Random Nibutani-focused episode (first time Yuuta/Rikka weren't leads)
5. Random Kumin episode
6. Decent school trip episode (no screentime for new character)
7. Continuation of school trip that introduced/resolved drama in 22 minutes
8. Random Deko/Nibu episode involving a creepy stalker
9. Beach pandering plus re-instituion of conflict near end
10. New character's conflict
11. Resolution of new character's conflict in a weak manner
12. Random "let's get the main couple to kiss" episode un-connected to anything since ep 7

The one bright point in the entire season was that episode 2 was directed by Ai Yukimura, a newbie from Madhouse. It was her first time directing an episode and it was very well done. I honestly can't think of anything else after that.

Of all 23 productions that Kyoto Animation had produced the animation for, I ranked it 24th after the logo they produced for a TV news program. Not an animation, the logo. It was that bad. People complained about Kyoukai, but this was utterly worse from the same series composer.

Tokyo ESP 1

This definitely feels like X-Men and I have no problem with that. The OST was actually great and I'm interested to see what happens next.

Crunchyroll got Magimoji Rurumo streaming in 15minutes.

The series will start streaming tonight with the first episode at 6PM PST with more details on the weekly episode schedule coming soon. Magimoji Rurumo will be available in the following territories:

U.S.A, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark Netherlands, and Latin America (Central and South America including the Caribbean Islands).

Pyscho Pass New Edit first half of episode 1

So I can see why this turned people off, this is not the kind of topic you cover in the first episode of a series especially if it's not expertly written. With that said I think the fact the MC was able to talk the girl down from lethal to non lethal was good and while she still got paralyzed the series had already established that being paralyzed = chance to get therapy and recover. Yes this should have been handled better but it was not as offensive as I imagined it would be based upon the reactions I read.

Also I get the feel this is going the Minority Report route of depicting this kind of action as questionable and the MC and others will challenge if what Psycho Pass is doing is right. This was somewhat hinted at by how both people once labeled as "potentially dangerous" panicked at a rapid pace going more and more into a frenzied state. An environment that breeds panic that leads to more crime instead of preventing it.

Again it really will depend on how well this is handled and written... based upon how the first episode mishandled the rape victim and the vast amount of negative comments I've seen about the series... I doubt it'll happen

I feel like I'm the only one that really liked Psycho-Pass. Admittingly some episodes were boring and half the cast wasn't fleshed out properly, but the setting in itself, the cases, and Makishima himself were the best parts of it to me.

Subete no aware
Two things:

- Most of the design work in the show is more uniform, but it's never going to make sense in a serious science fiction kind of a way. The empire always has this faux-Prussian thing going for it while the Alliance look more utilitarian and modern. The Roman thing is a one-off.

- For your information a standard fleet size is 20,000 ships. That's a mix of carriers, attack vessels, and capital ships along with the occasional specialist vessel.

- They're sailing a sea of stars!
I guess I can chalk it up to Star Trek: TOS syndrome where some dude just decided to have a Roman planet because he's an asshole who loves Rome. lol

I know it's a sea of stars, but outside of like ancient times, I don't know why anyone would have fleets of that size. :p
If nothing else it seems like a logistical nightmare, especially since everyone fights on a 2d plane!

Compared to Tytania's terrible plot point of
pampered corrupt noble who keeps an exotic pet monster who tragically kills Not-Yang Wenli's girlfriend
, I'll take the occasional scene of conflicting eras like LotGH's
I'm waiting for the point where I stop thinking about the silliness... hasn't happened yet though.

I haven't seen Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!?, but reading the summary for it I feel like I just watched this show...
Due to young Koutarou’s financial circumstances, he is forced to live in a small rokujouma (6-tatami apartment) on a budget of 5000 yen a month. On the plus side, he lives rent-free, but on the minus side, that’s because room 106 of Corona Apartments is cursed. The ghost is a cute young girl, and hijinks ensue when she tries to drive him out. Between the haunting, Koutarou’s nosy neighbors, and a self-styled magical girl flying to the unneeded rescue, there’s way too much for the impoverished young man to handle.

Tokyo Ghoul 2

All this food porn and subsequent reaction faces. Coffee thing is kinda goofy too but I got the gist of it as I'm now suspicious of anyone that enjoys coffee in the least!

Dude kicking Hide was the funniest thing. lol

ef A Tale of Memories 1-5: This isn't a Shinbou production? I would never have guessed! Yeah, I can really tell that is is a VN adaption just because I can feel the cut content, though I have to say that I am really enjoying it.
Also, Miyako is so best grill that it hurts.

We're definitely in the minority here but I liked Psycho-pass enough.

Psycho Pass New Edit 2nd half of episode 1

Akane is not a very good main character, she acts and sounds like a 14 year old middle school girl despite the fact I'm pretty sure she's supposed to be a young women in her 20's. I don't mind the 'she did what she thought was right angle not what the computer said was right' and they did establish her action saved the women's life who is on the way to recovery which is good. The problem is the first half of this episode was spent with her doubting herself like a middle school girl and being an incompetent cop despite apparently scoring an A at being good for this job.

I also have to wonder how the heck the technology works in this universe, if she's able to change clothes so easily are her clothes actually holographic and is she naked? Or is the clothing made out of some kind of organism/material that is able to change it's shape, size, and color? Same with the walls and stuff in her house, is her blanket able to change size and texture when it morphs or is it all holographic. If it is holographic then is this gonna be matrix where most of reality isn't real or something?

I'm thinking about this too much, probably more then the actual writers did lol

I dunno I like Psycho Pass but I can see why it didn't do anything for some people. It's got flaws for sure and I can't really call it a good show or a good first episode, but it was certainly entertaining enough that I'll keep watching it.

That was the most random thing and it had me laughing my head off.

Between the hamburger tears and that, I'm hoping the unintentional comedy keeps rolling in. It's making this far more memorable than if it was strictly serious business.

Terror 1
Delightfully psychopathic. The two leads look to be an interesting pair. The scenery looked great and the action was very solid. I wonder how the girl they recruited will transform

Fairly sure that's the episode I stopped watching at. That ending was just way too ridiculous.

Magimoji Rurumo 01

I didn't watch Yowapeda, but this work by the same author seems more like what I'm looking for. The show's decision to make Mimorin the star with her singing the OP and voicing the main heroine, I'm okay with. The more success any member of Milky Holmes gets, the better with me. Based on the first episode, I'm getting vibes of Heaven's Lost Property filtered through Witchcraft Works. Perverted humor all around - but even lowbrow comedy still has an art to it. And Rurumo's pretty cute. I'm used to energetic Mimorin, so deadpan Mimorin is an interesting casting decision.

Yes and i want it right this second, i don't know how much longer i can wait

Help me. What can I do to tide me over until the show airs? I've already exhausted the doujin route, so now I have to delve into other content (I usually eat my dessert first). Should I like.. uh, try to play the game? Is there some other consumable form of this franchise?

Heh, I thought you would like this show the moment you started it. Maybe I'll look into it myself later on.

What will you be watching next?

Probably finally try and make some progress in G Gundam. And definitely try Hyouka out. Really enjoyable watch.

You're making me sad. If NIS America can get Toradora done than the least they can do is try and get Hyouka over here.

I found Baka and Test season 2
Its oop online so Ive had my eye on it for a while

Hahaha. I knew you would get it. Probably going to be your best purchase of the month!!!

Nice. I missed my chance to get Season 2 since there was only a limited edition release. Still don't understand why FUNimation is doing a DVD-only S.A.V.E. release. I hope the lack of Blu-rays isn't going to be a new trend for S.A.V.E. editions.

At the very least, I was thinking Hide being eaten by his friend wouldn't have been that bad as he probably had all sorts of brain damage after the other ghoul kept stomping on his head.

You can either play the game like me, or read the manga, I think there's like 2 different mangas
