Shana had a whole hand of characters who were better than Shana. Special mention fpr Margery Daw and mah girl Hecate, Hayate had maria and of course Lady Hinagiku and I already said that Taiga is not my favorite girl of Toradora.
Never saw Zero no Tsukaima tho.

One of the reasons I couldn't take /r/anime anymore is the large amount of comments stating: "HotD was actually quite good when you disregard the ecchi moments".
Just... NO. I'll agree that the production value and visuals are more than the show ever deserved but... the characters and plot. There isn't even enough "so dumb it's kinda fun" action in there either. So much downtime and dialog between characters you'll never care about in a hundred years.
Awakened Miki's too good.

This series contains some pretty fucked up stuff. People getting sliced in half, kids getting shot, molestation (thankfully not shown in as much detail as the other stuff), animal abuse and what have you.
Yet it still manages to be uninteresting, predictable and plain boring at times. There's a few attempts at humor here and there, but it's more laughable than funny.
The main theme/OP is fitting and is used nicely at some points in the show, but the who the hell chose that ED? It doesn't fit the tone of the show at all.
There is an interesting story hidden in here somewhere, but there seems to be a few pieces that's missing. Some parts of the last episode was a bit sad, but no real feels moments here either.
Not really good, but not that bad either. All in all I give it 2.5/5 blood soaked puppies:

you're right that it's average , but the facct that with those themes they made no intention to improve beyond average make it extra bad IMO

It's was... bland? I dunno. Couldn't really get excited or upset about anything. You could of course wonder why wheelchair girl didn't tear everybody in half instead of slapping them around, why Kohta is willing to forgive everything or why have another surprise reveal about that director guy, but meh...

Well all I remember of the show apart from the nudity and gore in the first episode was that the MC was ultra dumb at the end. Honestly, how could he forgive something like the murder of his sister and father like it was nothing? It was probably the first stupid ending for an anime I'd seen (was pretty new to the medium when I watched it) so that part stuck with me.

I already like Miki also (on Episode 6 now) especially her constant want for sleeping and the using her looks just to get food was hilarious. I can't wait til they flesh out the characters more, but so many idols and only so many episodes.

I actually read the manga before watching the show. It was heavy on fanservice on it's own, but in it's core it was your usual western zombie apokalypse just with anime clichees as protagonist - which was actually entertaining. But the show dropped everything to turn the fanservice to 11. It was just awful.

this show was compared to Gantz and in that respect it was a masterpiece. It was pushing some boundaries for a tv series at the time. Ova's were already super violent but not tv series so much. It definitely isnt forgettable.
i dont love the series but I respected what it was trying to say and I did buy it on dvd.
the ambiguous ending is de rigeur for a series like that.

Man you really need to see Gintama. Rie's role as Kagura is probably her best one, like seriously no lie. Especially since most of her roles are tsundere it's like a miracle how Kagura isn't annoying. In fact she's great and awesome probably has to due with the source material though.

She does some shitty stuff later on. I could forgive most of it, but at an episode near the end I had had enough. Some already started disliking her from about the middle of the series and a few still likes her anyway.

Christ, Tokyo ESP seems like the ultimate combination of tired cape comic cliches (including the "great power = great responsibility" line), anime cliches, visual ripoffs from just about everything, and a focus on the least interesting part of any superhero thing, the origin story explaining everyone's powers.
