Avoid any discussion on MAL and use it only as a resource.

I'm pretty much just using it as a resource to keep track of everything thing I've watched since I can sometimes be forgetful.

Feel free to add me as a friend if you make an account. Same username as on here.

Cool, I'll add ya. My username on there is the same as here, still got quite a bit to add, been working on it since last night.

Ah, I was starting to wonder what became of this robot thing. Still have no idea how it connects to the story at all.

Halfway through, and this is starting out really bland.

100 friends? Did this come out before or after Facebook?

Well, that's one way to pad the Drama Club.

Glad I wasn't wearing headphones.

And now we have a strange old man in a trench coat. Okay.

Haven't we had discussion how KyoAni is better of not making productions for other people which is why you're never getting Haruhi S3.

You just reminded me that I need to watch The Disappearance. Did Haruhi really need a third season?

Kyoani's fall show seems have so much plot

A new KyoAni show? Hype!!! Still need to finish Hyouka.

Nah, Madoka was (career wise).

I like Nolan but he has sort of been a hack lately in the sense of

The Dark Knight (to a lesser extent), Inception, and The Dark Knight Rises.

Finish watching Fate/Zero. Madoka was good but I wouldn't say it was better than Fate/Zero.

That... was great! Despite my current aversion to firearms, this was like gun porn to me, trying to identify everything in sight. I love that it's totally not bothering to take itself seriously. Probably the most impressive first episode to me so far.

You won't truly find out until the end of After Story :p

Haruhi was entertaining enough that I'd be interested to watch if they ever made a third season at least. And I think there's enough material to at least make one more season if they wanted to?

All he needs is to do is implement the Cartman Method everyone knows this. And I'm disappointed that the girl is not the main protagonist... :(
I'm sure she's one of the main, just not the lead.

Cartman method would be amusing though. No need to make a profit just enough to hire the personnel required.

You know as I was watching After Story I was getting irritated because I was like "what does this robot and girl thing have to do with this show? How does it connect?"

What they do in these small segments is important and also symbolic. It does connect at some point in a major way. Kotomi arc is a love it or hate it arc. I personally like it because it drives and develops some of the cast.

Edit: Actually irritated is a bad word. I meant to say impatient. I just wanted to see how it all ended and was having trouble figuring out where this robot and girl story would connect. That is until half way through After Story. Then that side story started to make more and more sense.

Let's give Barack Obama one more episode to see if it's good enough. I mean it had almost no hype but most if not all impressions are positive. Let's see if it's not a Stacy's Mom.

Think so? But as we all know KyoAni doesn't make a third season of anything. :/

Barakamon is the kind of show you know will be good once you've watched the first episode, and Kinema Citrus have put all their best people on the project to make it probably as consistently produced as Yuyushiki or Code:Breaker (if not better).

So it'll be good.

Based on how they can spread one novel over a series of episodes (or one mini story over eight ;) ) I'd say there is plenty of material for another series if not more.

Listen we're not getting more Haruhi until the author stops being a lazy bum and actually starts working again.

Is there really a plot to Haruhi? I thought it was more a "follow this crazy girl around and see amazing randomness" type of franchise.

There sort of is.

Haruhi season 1 was excellent, everything after it was trash.

Endless Eight did it's damage. Never again....

Yeah that's the impression I got from the show too. I mean there is a plot but it's only to serve the above. It's like saying Baka & Test had a plot. It did but it only served to progress the characters to their hilarious encounters and conversations.

Hm... I think you should watch the movie before saying that.

Man, Urobuchi just can't help himself, can he? Most of the episode was exposition poorly disguised as character dialogue. Though, admittedly, by the end of the episode I was interested to see where it may go. I'll give this one some more time; It has some potential to be fun.

Watched Rail Wars, Barakamon and Something-Something-Kill yesterday.

Rail Wars was weird. I guess the train stuff was cool, but I thought the fanservice was way over the top and totally unnecessary. Meh. Also where's the war I was promised? I wanted a machine-gun mounted on top of a train and left disappointed :(

Something-Something-Kill reminded me of Attack on Titan and maybe Claymore a bit, except with a way more streamlined visual design and weird humor. A bit generic but I'll bite and watch the second one.

Barakamon: Now this is promising stuff. I'm a sucker for stories in which the main character acts as a parental figure. Plus I loved the OP/ED. Following this one for sure.

There is one short story from the fifth LN, three short stories in the sixth LN, and all of the seventh to the eleventh LNs left to adapt. There was also a short story bundled with the limited edition of the tenth and eleventh volumes in Japan, along with another short story that was included with the latest series artbook. Even some of the manga-exclusive chapters could be used.

I personally just want the next LN from Tanigawa Nagaru to be published. Next year will mark the second four-year hiatus for the series.

After only watching the first episode how is Akama ga Kill edgy?

I thought we called stuff like Elfenlied or Muv-Luv "edgy", stories which trying to archive some emotional reactions with emotional and physical abuse of the characters.

AgK was just b-movie splatter stuff.

It gets a lot edgier and covers much edgier subject matters than Elfen Lied or the 3 episodes of Muv-Luv I watched.

However, the anime likely won't cover the worst of it.

Ah. Hope there'll be more LNs sooner than later. That would probably increase the chance of more anime as well I guess :p

These episodes of Space Brothers feel like they last forever, but in a good way.

If they stay true to the manga, it definitely becomes edgier and edgier later on.

Quite frankly, I'd like a clear definition of "edgy" as it's understand here. I'm sometimes not quite sure if we're all even meaning the same.
