Mobile games isn't exactly a win though even if I'm excited Noragami is airing in the fall.

Haha, I could definitely see how that sounds like Berserk now. It didn't even cross my mind how similar that description was.Sound like Berserk.
Awesome! I'm gonna try and watch it sometime soon.Great show ! Rewatched first few episodes recently and they were better than I remembered.
It can't be stated enough, but the art on display in this show is stunning.
Bakemonogatari 9
These drawings, reaction faces and expressions are killing me. Kanbaru's ol' pervy ass is awesome.
Bakemonogatari 10
Jesus Christ, Araragifor the sake of others. It's really great that he cares so much about helping people, but man, he's pretty much just astay getting his ass beatat this point.paranormal punching bag
"Don't be mistaken with whom you're supposed to save!" is a pretty powerful line, I think. It's something Araragi needed to hear, but at the same time, I understandothers. It's kind of a "between a rock and a hard place" position, but it shows how good a person Ara is.why he wants to prevent these oddities from hurting anyone else; even those who brought about these things because they wanted to hurt or spite
Also, the wholewas intense as hell."exorcising" section of this episode, and the fight with snakeI'm glad the childhood friend made out okay.
Oh yeah,Theand the bit where Araragi getssnake fightare honestly my favourite parts of the show, but especially theswung around by his intestinesbecause it's just so tense to watch. I would have liked it if there were more moments like that.snake fight
I'd almost suggest watching the SatoJun travelogues first but that's because I just think travel shows are cool. lol

Prison School is this odd combination of ugly sex comedy and a kind of perverted extreme feminism that only exists in an MRA dystopia. After two episodes, I still don't get it.
Thanks for the heads up!If you're watching Bake on CR, there are a couple episodes missing at the end.
Gate ep 3
Dragon = fucking rekt. Fuck yeah modern weaponry!!
Despite Itami being a Otaku that people gave him shit about, he wasn't interested in elf girl and didn't like goth girl sitting on his lap...or maybe he still waiting for a cat girl.
Rory > Elf Girl > Mage girl for now.
I think it just feels awkward because the women are basically cartoon feminazis that MRA people like to make fun of. It's like womynism exaggerated past the parody line. It's ok, sometimes it takes a while to understand and appreciate art of this caliber
So, I Can't Play H! ep2-6:

First off, don't bother with the stream of this; only watch if you have the Blu-Ray version and you really like ecchi stuff. It's maddening when you try to watch a battle scene and half the action is full of black bars and light marks. Seriously, it's not hentai Crunchy...
With that aside, the story has been pretty interesting and the action pretty cool, so there's that as well. The whole pervyness thing is kind of dying down now that he is building a small harem and the plot is progressing in a differnt direction. It's unfortunate that yet again, the childhood friend is the best character but as always she won't win, lol. Oh well, I'll pick back up on this at some point. It was a "close my eyes" and hit play pick yesterday anyway...
I've lost Faith [Stay Night] in Ufotable. The days of Fate Zero are long gone, and the KnK movie was nothing but pandering and unnecessary crap. They're going down the KyoAni way of by pure fucking chance choosing ONE really good source material to make an anime with, but their plan the whole time was to adapt trash.
Welcome to NHK 9 (NHK ni Youkoso!) ep1-7:

OK, this is a good one. The guy is a total shut-in and is trying to break outta the cycle by getting "counciling" by an amatuer girl. OK, the guys just a weirdo that thiks everything is a conspiracy, and the daydreams/dreams of that are hilarious. The poor guy is also trying to write a script for a game to do something. All these situations are funny and sad at the same time....
You are confusing the late-night anime market with productions that are made differently. Shows like Log Horizon, Fullmetal Alchemist, Haikyu, and the new Gundam show are made to run in primetime timeslots via TV station input and are made to appeal to a broader audience. Those tend not to have a lot of the less desireable elements in them. Depending on how big of an influence the TV station has on the production, they may be made as an entertainment source rather than to push a product.
Shows like Space Dandy, OreImo, Fate/Stay Night, and nearly most of what gets discussed in this thread and many other forums are essentially infomercials made to push some type of product, whether that is a video game (God Eater), light novel (anything from Dengeki), video disc (Madoka), merchandise (anything waifu/husbando), manga (Kodansha/Shueisha), or anything else. They have an audience in mind that buys these items and so they have to include elements to appeal to them. This is why shows like K-On! and Euphonium had to hype the main four girls: to market to that type of audience despite the shows appealing to a broader audience.
TV stations in Japan have seen dramas obtain higher ratings than animated content, thus primetime is devoted to live-action content. Anime shows used to air around these times, but once higher ratings came about for (relatively cheaper) shows, the medium was essentially forced into this production committee/infomercial type. There are a few stations that produce anime, but they're fewer than the other type. Additionally, the TV stations are asking for more of the revenue to be a sponsor. This is why shows like Sailor Moon Crystal and Digimon Tri had to be made in alternative formats (web episodes/OVA films respectively). Toei did not want to sacrifice additional revenue for popular franchises to TV Asahi/Fuji respectively.
There are different types of anime much like there are different types of broadcasts outside Japan. Painting all of it with the "pandering" brush is inaccurate, though it applies to a subset of the medium.
GATE episode 03
This is a better and pretty good episode compare to first 2, and all 3 girls finally showed up.
Rori>Elf>Mage.

Well, there's this bit where that one girl catches the principal with porn (or not even porn but gravure shots because this is Japan where Maxim is lewd) and it's supposed an example of how men are failures in this universe. But it just sounds like what people who don't understand this thread think feminists must think about sexuality and female bodies. I suppose there's supposed to be some measure of hypocrisy because of all the Kana stuff, but it just makes the already alien premise feel flimsy to me.Yeah kind of. The second half is way better at getting past that and turning the three into actual characters. The first half (what this will cover) is more in it to be ridiculous and funny. The second half is also ridiculous and funny but I still haven't come up with a way to explain it in my mind because it's too next level
It's an exaggerated portrayal of adolescent male attitudes about sex. The boys know they want female contact, but girls are still impossibly unapproachable and mysterious creatures to them. They have to find their outlet in whatever way they can.Prison School is this odd combination of ugly sex comedy and a kind of perverted extreme feminism that only exists in an MRA dystopia. I thought it was sad! Yeah on paper it sounds ridiculous but I thought Imagawa did a good job with its execution.
I mean that arc is aboutthe hero's younger brother learning about who his mother is and that she killed his father. It's also about him learning about the first love of his life being a robot made to defeat his brother's beloved robot.
He's then forced to watch Mazinger Z brutally take her down. Like, it's silly, I get it. But I thought the whole heaviness of that episode with the head of the girl robot and the devilish imagery of Mazinger Z was really well done.
The again, it doesn't really matter in the long run I suppose. I'm still enjoying your impressions and I'm very interested to see what you have to say on the rest of the show as this point and onwards is where things really start to get crazy.
riiiight ...I

I don't think I get Prison Scool's humor. But then again, I'm not really into comedy. I also thought the panty mask anime thing was boring as shit.
All I experienced from Prison School though were the first episode of the anime and the equivalent manga chapters. It just did nothing for me.
The vice-president looks much better in the manga though. The male leads are fine in the anime, and so is sumo girl.

The Underground Student Council are less evil straw feminists and more the larger-than-life gatekeepers standing between them and what they want: the merest glimpse of the forbidden fruit.
It's (a certain form of) the teenage male sexual experience taken to the extreme, and all the exaggerated attitudes there are what make it funny.
I guess I'm wondering if I'm supposed to laugh at the female characters for being extreme or for being "wrong"? Should I even laugh at them since there is at least a kernel of truth in what they believe? Especially when the text they find themselves in emphasizes their physical attractiveness (but also paradoxically a lack of sexuality)? If I as a viewer is supposed to find them titillating, am I proving the point of these characters? Should I be locked up in some strange program that punishes men for expressing sexual desire? It's an exaggerated portrayal of adolescent male attitudes about sex. If you have drawn a female with breasts so big she should not be able to walk upright, you have made a mistake.
The VP slowly turns into that in the manga kind of like Nami in One Piece, in the anime they just went for it from the get go
I'd say PS gets really good when the escape plan and trying to carry it out starts up. It's basically Prison Break.Do give it a bit longer, especially the manga before dropping it.but good.

This was great, though the pacing is medium fast, I don't really mind. The comedy moments have retained most of their essence from the manga. Next week comes one of the moments I've been waiting the most since the anime was announced.Gakuto's sacrifice
Can't really remember, but is next week whenGakuto shits himself?
That had me crying for like 30 minutes straight
Yes, alsoBrokeback Prison
EDIT: Damn, Soma is out too! Fridays are packed.
For me Fridays are easy, Soma and Classroom Crisis only. The latter may be dropped soon, they have to convince me within the next 2 episodes.
My Saturdays however are a fucking chaos:
-Durarara
-Charlotte
-Working!!!
-Rokka no Yuusha
-Shimoneta
Can't remember the last season in which I had so much stuff to watch in one day. I pretty much get home from work, shower, make dinner, watch the stuff and go to bed to go to work the next day.
Don't like comedy, slice of life or drama. What do you like?I don't think I get Prison Scool's humor. But then again, I'm not really into comedy. I also thought the panty mask anime thing was boring as shit.
Well, I think because it's dealing with gender I instinctively want to see if there's a political position that the show takes or the author is trying to make.I suppose you should laugh at the exaggeration of everything: the exaggerated physical violence, the sexual comedy, the exaggerated libido of all the boys (and Hana, too!), the convoluted situations, the exaggerated manner of speech (the chinese history otaku), even the exaggerated faces (Andre).
But you know, when you need to explain a comedy, it means it really wasn't fun. Someone can try to explain it, but then he actively makes it not as fun.
It just means the humor wasn't for you.

Look at this shit! Summer pls stahp.
Last season I watched everything I was following on Sunday mornings. Now, if I try to do this, I might actually not have enough time to watch everything.
Hmmm I was considering watching this show but your description of it has made me think its pretty skippable.
NHK is so good. SO GOOD. I literally have to marathon it every time I watch it, which has been at least six times by my count. Its in my top 20 all time for sure. Misaki is EXTREMELY cute, but people tell me she was a druggie and pretty unhinged in the manga. I can see why she would be but I like her more innocent anime persona.
