Analysis

I dunno I thought this was pretty straightforward - all the material with
Megu-nee where she's clearly alive are flashbacks and all the stuff where she's clearly dead are the present.

Overlord 04

I guess this is supposed to represent Skeletor pwning fools or something? LOL

The way it's presented though is clearly supposed to throw doubt into the situation. When you do flashbacks like that, you usually limit it to what the characters as a group experienced so it's not from the perspective of a dead individual. Dead people can't exactly recount things.

Ok, education time; GAR?

So Seira is evil Ichigo while Kii is evil Aoi. Poor Ran once again getting the short end of the stick. How did Otome end up being Starlight Queen anyway? Aoi and Ran seem to be getting much more respect. Those unit activities must be a big deal. I'm not liking Shion's absence thus far despite her presence in the op. Seeing how similar Aoi and Kii are, Aoi probably would've become a producer had things been slightly different. She's readily doing producerish jobs like lecturing and taking photos. Starlight and Dream students aren't very good at this whole rivalry thing. The CG has gotten much better. The audience doesn't look like freaks of nature.

Ah...just take some time off watching Ai Yori Aoshi as I am going to finish that show as quickly as tomorrow if I keep on watching this fast and start watching You're Under Arrest: Fast & Furious or season 2 of the TV show. Man...those stuff I love in the 1st season is back from the 1st episode but now with much newer animation look and also new character from the show. Liking it so much and might continue watching it a bit here.

I feel at home right now with You're Under Arrest. Miss those fun show.

Cant remember the last time i saw someone so OP from the very start as Skeletron in Overlord.

Onii-sama in Mahouka?

Ok, education time; GAR?

Super manly and badass to the point where even guys start to swoon. It originated from an old ass board post about Fate/Stay Night where they misspelled "gay" as "gar" in the sentence "I'm gar for Archer"

Yep it originated on 4chan's /a/ board with the DEEN F/SN then got popular when TTGL came around and Kamina was popular.

Symphogear GX - 03

Should you watch Symphogear?

I think so

That part is so bad, I love it

Yoshiwara arc in Gintama was so good, Kagura's face was amazing when she lost it so full of power and emotions, Yato Tribe is so badass, the villiam was also great, it is one of those few bad guys you actually hate,
T~T when Seita was looking at Hinowa's feet was so cruel and painful, and pretty much everything was it, it is also so wrong that there are real places like that still in our world and they are even worse.
but you can't blame him for trying to own that Sun.

I can't wait to have more episodes with Tsukuyo. Now my only complaint with the series is how weak Shinpachi is, and it is not really fair for a character like him, I'm glad on the preview they showed up he is going to train to get stronger, I hope he actually gets stronger.

These random cameos!
I guess this is the anime version of the Stephen Tobolowsky-esque character actor. I find it amusing that he played Worf in the Japanese dub of Star Trek - he certainly has the voice for it.

But I called it:
Jp0EOKxl.png

CudSJBil.png

I mean it wasn't the hardest call, but they're actually going to be voice acting idols. I just like the seeming artificiality of it, especially given how these girls basically don't have any known singing or dancing talent, but it's just easy to push any kind of idol-like production onto otaku and they'll presumably eat it up.

Sure, it doesn't really treat the whole seiyuu industry in anyway close to as dark as any examination of Hollywood, but I figure this is as close to an admission of the whole insanity of the industry that every single aspect of anime can be commodified and turned into something that you can sell - even the voice actresses that you never see in real life.

But at this point, I have no idea what's left short of showing them do video games or break out into shitty jdrama tv shows/movies. I suppose the darker side is basically pornography, but other than that one anime about the girl who does porn for her sister's porn company, I don't think this anime will even get close to that. :p
But maybe they'll do gravure shots sometime. I know at least one person here who likes gravure photobooks of seiyuu. lol

---

On a different note, how many fucking waifus is Darling going to get in Monster Girls? He just got another one and the preview said he's getting a fucking Mermaid next. lol

And I'm annoyed because Kobayashi didn't even get a single line this episode. It's like she disappeared to make room for all these monster waifus.

Gintama Eternal Odd Jobs Gin: The Final Chapter.

What an amazing movie. I'd be perfectly content if nothing else was adapted after this, and you can tell the staff put their all into this thinking it might be the last they'd ever get to make of Gintama, especially with how abrubtly the last season ends. Still uses the same old Gintama OST, but they rerecorded some tracks with different instruments and knocked them out of the park. Think there was one new original track for the movie. (not including the song done by SPYAIR for it)

Movie spoilers
Really disappointed I didn't get to see the 5 years later version of Prince Hata. :( It'd have been great if he got stuck on Earth when everybody abandoned the planet. Sorachi pls bring back one of the best characters, you damn gorilla

I just listened to that Evangelion parody in that Seiyuu show's first ED.

If they're going to parody other anime OPs or EDs, I really hope they do one of the Jojo ones.

Moe anime girls singing LIKE A BLOODY SOUL would be amazing.

Or even better, something from JAM Project.

Prince Hata has pretty much disappeared from the manga for a long time. If I recall correctly, he actually shouldn't even have appeared in the 2nd Gintama series if they hadn't added a bit of filler. At least, his last appearance was in a completely filler episode (the 2nd series finale).

There's a new director and writing team for the current season, and so far they seem to avoiding filler, so the chances of him appearing seem even lower. Although they did place him in the 1st opening...

And it's really sad, because he's one of the best Gintama characters. He doesn't need to be showing up constantly, because he's kind of one-note, compared to the rest of the supporting characters (even though they're largely played for their tropes anyway outside of the arcs) but an occasional appearance every now and then surely couldn't kill Sorachi.

Shinpachi is Shinpachi though, I doubt he will ever get huge fights like Gintoki or Kagura

Unless Hata somehow appears in a serious arc there is almost no chance of him ever appearing again at this point in the Manga. Though Hard Boiled guy was able to come back again so never count anything out.

They could always make good on releasing the Benizakura retelling movie redubbed by Prince Hata.

A serious arc with Hata would be pretty amazing though. I'm going to start reading the manga after this season finishes.

Shinpachi does get a couple of serious fights in Gintama after that point though. The main issue is those battles are very short,
I'm talking about that girl from the Jirocho arc and his old friend from the light saber arc. Both battles pretty much end in one strike.

Yeah the fight with
Jirocho's daughter being done in one strike was so disappointing

Non Non Biyori Repeat 4
The second half was just so great. The death and rebirth of Flatty-San and Renge's reactions really touched my heart.

Gangsta-4

In many ways, this reminds me of a grounded version of Black Lagoon. Like what would life be for non-Terminator like people in Roanapur. It's very slow in how things are handled, in that half this episode takes place at a police station doing nothing but talking.

Overlord -04

Nice seeing Nito wrecking shit, too bad they didn't show what happens to his opponents. So far, quite a good adaptation of the source material, will be nice to see how they handle the next arc. Still kinda wish this show had a larger animation budget

Can't wait for
hamesuke
to make his appearance :D

We need to start a AnimeGAF "let's watch" bi-weekly challenge where we pick a random older 12 episode series to all watch together. Random genres, chosen by a "lottery" winner to choose the series selection order. That or we can all just pick 12 or so ahead of time and try to come up with some that not many have watched, maybe even just choose the genre and 1 member gets to choose..
Joint reactions are always fun to watch and if we watch the same 6 episodes a week, we could have some fun with it. Have they done that here before? This may just be a dilusional fantasy rant here also...

My issue with this is that realistically this would need to be streaming and older series available on streaming services aren't that common, unless you mean post-2002 or so by "older."

First up - Ping Pong
Second - who cares

There's nothing stopping you from starting something up. Mangagaf has done the same thing multiple times.

Tsubasa is the miracle of the universe with short hair. Such a upgrade it ain't even funny.

Man Tsubasa looks amazing, so much better than Senjougahara. It seems she's helping Araragi's little sisters. I love seeing Tsubasa provoke Araragi.

Shinobu is also the miracle of the universe.

Yeah, probably 2000-2005+, the "older" stuff would be too difficult to stream.

Lol, well, good or bad, it could be fun regardless. We can all shit on the trash together.

Yes, she is amazing, lol. Give that girl/woman a donut.

Something amazing happens in this series.
Just a few episodes left to go. Hopefully, he was been watching the way certain relationships have changed/grown, lol.

Monster Musume ep.4
Nice, another week another monster chick. Looks like another one next week as well. It's a shame we didn't get more Smithy this week, but the MC isn't halfbad, so we're good.
