I never thought that. Was pretty middling on that front imo.
As for the show, a few episodes amused me but even at 3 minutes it ran out of steam real fast. You'd think there would be plenty of room for rpg jokes.

Leave it to Gintama to make fun of human trafficking by making it sound like a regular 9-5 job. Glad to get more character development for both Sakamoto and Mutsu as they've needed it. The flashback scene makes me sad that Takasugi isn't a regular part of the gang as his interactions with Gintoki and the rest of the Joi rebels was hilarious. The gag of not showing the bad guy's face kinda lost me and the puke humor was beaten to death. Solid episode overall as Sakamoto's stupid laugh was dearly missed. Despite being cold Mutsu can be pretty cute.
You know, Funi can do good stuff with script punch ups, Stines;Gate had a pretty example all said but this comes off as, how do I put this delicately?, a really bad idea that's only going to end in tears for all involved and not just GG.
Chimney, I'd be saying that even if it wasn't GG Specifically they were taking pot shots at.
I mean the only practical upshot here is that Prison School is getting a Punch Up Script which, given that I don't have much love for the source, is about the only thing that could make me pay much attention to it.

Who is the dude at Shaft with a foot fetish because there was a lot of that in this episode.
I'm uhh, not sure what to think of the Shinobu scene but it was kind of gross. Not as bad as To Love Ru Darkness though.

To be fair they cover so many fetishes equally that the whole thing is somehow alright.
G might be one of the biggest jumps in quality I've seen in an anime sequel. The only other one that comes to mind is Phantom Blood to Battle Tendency except this would be like if Battle Tendency was much better animated too. Maybe FMP to TSR jump? The show went from the bad side of mediocre to legit good.
I'm just waiting for the production to collapse because it can't stay this good all the way through.

You know, I get the weird feeling that his cat curse is somehow a weird metaphor for cancer... I'm probably reading wayyyy too much into it.
Also his family is a piece of shit. They act like having a cat allergy is some cardinal sin or something (seriously, anytime he starts coughing and sneezing they go all "ehhh... what's your problem?!". His problem is that he's fucking allergic, and you guys own a damn cat, you dicks!)
Also, that might also be the worst sequel hook ending I've seen. Halfway through the last episode they say there isn't a second season, then at the very end post credits they go all like "oh sure there is gonna be a sequel... sure.... probably..." (not even hinted at, they literally break the 4th wall and talk about a potential second season).
That was 6 years ago.

The soft music did a really great job conveying the melancholy with that battle scene. Them revealing what they did immediately after unfortunately made it way less impactful or interesting. And why not just have Gelsadra do it and heal her after? Oh well, good thing they conveniently have that healer person huh!

Also episode 10 was pretty much jumping the shark, only to get off it in the next episode.

Fafner: Right of Left
OVA prequel to the series. Whole new set of characters that weren't mentioned at all in the show, aside from one who died in the first episode, so I sort of expected a bittersweet ending going in. Fairly decent standalone, but didn't really seem to serve a purpose overall since it only was mentioned once in the movie.
Fafner: Dead Aggressor - Heaven and Earth
Movie sequel. Continues on with the hanging plot threads from the end of the series, and was pretty decent at handling most of them. Quite satisfying seeing a lot of it cleared up, but enough leftover that I'm interested in where Exodus goes with it. A lot of the mech animation has shifted to 3DCG, which is a pretty welcome change considering the only rough quality of mecha animation from the TV. Or that's probably just movie budget making it better.
One more cour then I'll be ready.

Anyway, I just caught up on Shimoneta and I really enjoyed the ending, I think it found its footing again in the final episode and it must have done something right because I am really hoping for a second season.
I've also been catching up on To Love-Ru Darkness. I had read the manga up until Nemesis shows up, and I finally caught up to that part in the anime last night. I was literally guffawing at the ecchi scenes. Episode 3 (or 2, not sure) of Darkness 2 was AMAZING. Ridiculously funny, then epic battle scenes and then topping it off with a cool cliffhanger.
I really like To Love-Ru, and not for the ecchi parts (though they are absolutely hilarious, even if they don't do anything for me in that way), I love the characters, I love the interactions they have. It's a very warm and sweet show, ecchi aside. And the plot is pretty good and is a harem anime that actually makes sense (due to the actual Harem Plan), it never fails to put a smile on my face.
I don't. This, I guarantee you, will make people look at Prison School (until the content within which is just as bad if not worse than what's alleged of GG makes them run away screaming but that's academic) because twitter blew up about it.
