Prison School 10

Gakuto, please be okay. You're the only semi-intelligent person in this universe.

WAIT, GAKUTO IS ACTUALLY THE GODDAMN SANEST!....or not...or is...HE?

The chairman's manner of speech is still fantastic.

Yes, assmen are truly the moral benefactors of society! Boob men have no courage to say their desires, but assmen are the true heroes of this world!

Amazing. Prison School truly is the anime of our time.

Time flew by this episode, I want need more of this show, hopefully we will see another season.

Judge lady had the best reactions.

The results also turned out to be interesting, definitely didn't expected the Polar Star guys to actually hold their own.

Welp, it's endgame time.
Hibikis dad is ...interesting as a character. Every time I think he did something likeable, he instantly manges to make himself even more unlikeable the next second. But it seems he finally got himself together now. Though for some reason I'm still expecting him to do something incredibly stupid when it matters the most.
Crazy-Ver was pretty cool this time, too. His dialogue is pretty interesting in a really twisted kind of way.
I like Carols song, shame there's no lyrics. Looking forward to the full version.

Ushio and Tora Episode 11:

This episode took a bit of time to get going but was really needed since the sidekick gitrls have not been seen for several episodes. The problem is they are just not terribly interesting characters and they don't have any chemistry together so this got dull at points.

No way this isn't getting a second season. It's amazing and astonishingly popular in Japan too.

Noticing small things that I forgot about when I read it like Sayoko's reaction to tying for 2nd and Marui bein' a boss. Also someone needs to gif the curry lady's tongue roll in a continuous loop that she had during Marui's tasting.

Edit: And more Hayama and Jun next episode, perfect way to cap the season.

Going from the first two visually pleasing dishes, to Sakaki's plain looking one in comparison, made me think of something the old miserable, chain smoking granny in my high school cafeteria used to serve.

I didn't expect bandana boy to be so skilled. I definitely liked his dish the most. Meat using knowledge she learned from Soma was cute. The reactions in this was great, lobster was the best. The rest was a bit too bouncy.
This show is so much fun, I'm going to be really sad when it ends. Princeee of Smoooooke

I forgot all the Polar Star members put up boss performances. Good for them. It being the last episode next week makes me sad. This show is dope.

There was an extremely large amount of lewd this episode though. Should probably not watch around other people, haha.

Because MGSV IS ANIME.

Speaking of MGS and anime, I just had the first scene with a big stompy mecha (or should I say Metal Gear?!!) in MGS5, and I have to say it was totally ridiculous, and with that I mean even more ridiculous than your average mecha anime. It totally clashes with the rest of the 'realistic' setting, which have Russians in Afghanistan and muhadins with rpgs and T72 and Hinds, so the typical mecha flaws (as size, bulk, slowness, clunky, expensiveness) are even more enhanced.

They explain this in a way that makes it even sillier.
The mech is just a prototype that only works because of psychic powers.
But that's Metal Gear.

I find that after PW the technological progress of that series just got thrown into chaos. The mechs in Peace Walker seem to be more advanced then Ray. The Shagohod made sense, it was more like a tank. After that it gets messy and Slopilopolipus is just goofy, that thing should be in Rising.

Y'all complaining about MGSV's story will jump off a cliff once Kojima makes the Ghost in the Shell game because that's totally gonna happen someday you guys.

Infinite Ryvius 8

So the Ryvius gets out of Geduld and arrive near Mars. Just a shame that the Martians attacked the Ryvius the moment it came on to their radar.

So, what are the chances this show keeps airing instead of ending this season? I'm already up to date with the manga for a while now, but I'll need my weekly animated food porn fix as well =(

Great episode as always. Nice to see the underdogs shine for a change.

here's MGSV story. PARASITES, how can kids be this smart! PARASITES and bombs, nuclear bombs.*I vaguely remember something similar, micromachines maybe? Picomachines? Can't recall the exact name right now.
(*tbh I did like some character and plot ideas in chapter 1, however they needed a much better execution and the whole thing had to be less dumb for me to appreciate)

I do like the gameplay, I really do. you get a lot of options, a lot of nice things and variables. it's a great stealth action sandbox adventure. that is, until chapter 2 where the phantom boredom kicks in, or until you play enough to realize how repetitive the game is. kojima made decisions, and about some of those decisions you inevitably wonder "why."

now I'm 3 or 4 missions away from finishing the game but so far most of the characters are either genuinely dumb (thank the top-notch writing for that) or not interesting in the least because they add/do nothing. or both. I'm sure the last 3 missions will fix that though!
doesn't help that almost all of the character development ends up being in tapes, maybe kojima was afraid to make another game with 4 hours long cutscenes every 15 minutes.

psa: MGSV is very anime. you even get to see the classic "to be continued" and previews of what's to come.

So much set up, exposition and explaining of the setting in the previous 5 eps yet they leave the most important thing left unsaid. lol Glad to see Rakka isn't very okay with the existence of walls and questions their existence. With what transpired in this ep, I imagine the first, more introductory part of the show is behind me.

Also, am I a terrible person for thinking two of the Haibanes; Kuu and Kana were male until the show stated otherwise ?

Infinite Ryvius 9

The Vital Guarder is finally put into action. Design-wise it's kinda unremarkable and it looks a tad bulky but it get's the job done when dealing with the mines. Good episode overall.

Also the mystery girl's little dance at the half way mark is hilarious. A shame there doesn't seem to be a gif of it

Symphogear GX - 11

Unless I see you get faceblasted by a shotgun and the corpse is devoured by wolfs, I'm not entirely convinced that you're actually dead. Nice try though Symphogear!

When that castle came down I was expecting something like the destruction in Independence Day, sadly nothing like that happened. Soundtrack near the end was pretty hype! I'm glad Hibiki is back to fisting.

I count on them doing the same twist they did in S3 for S4 with Dr. Ver

Haha yeah that dance did look pretty silly, in an endearing way if that makes sense. After the first time I saw it, I would just randomly do it around the house, prancing about in the dark...man I'm weird. Its just so bizarre and sporadic :p

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
Wait, prince of smoke is your favorite?

I kinda pictured you like an Aldini person.

He's stated multiple times that he believes that Soma and Takumi are canonically a romantic couple because Soma doesn't show any interest in girls and since you can't disprove it.

Hey man, If nothing else it would probably give you a good stretch. The episode in general had some out of place stuff going on.

Soma 23

Goddamn, there is just such a high degree of cooking expertise into every single one of these dishes that are being put into the show, it's crazy. Even better is how well the studio animates it all and makes the dish look delicious. Can't believe there is only 1 episode left. Pleeeeease give us a season 2 announcement at the end of the last episode!!!!

I've actually never really watched Death Note.

I know the general plot, and that eating chips causes one of the characters to emote a bit too much.

I'm not sure if either of the things I know really makes sense.
