What I need is less cardio( less intensity) and more muscle. I was going to try it after looking at the website but if this is what it entails then I'll stick with PX90 routine.

Don't forget fapping.

I drink too much. I Just quit smoking. I told myself if I could quit smoking, then I can do anything, and that I would spend this summer doing just what this thread is speaking of.

Booze: Once a week, that's all, and it never needs to be more than that.

I have a number of other things as well, but I'm tackling them one at a time. After I'm comfortable with the booze and it feels semi-habitual (two weeks or so for me), I'm going to tack on some regular form of exercise. After that, I'm not sure... probably going to get some house projects done and pick my pencil/paintbrush back up and exercise a healthy hobby.
Hopefully this thread can help you cut down on the drinking and get started on a healthier lifestyle.

Get back into training for athletics so I can compete next season (sprints)
Work on my body more, gym, diet, etc.
Make the girl I like my girlfriend
Study for exams (which I should really be doing right now)
Read up on economics and politics so I can debate more

1. Finish XNA game. (Not for XBLIG, probably)
2. Start Kinect programming for FYP (Final Year Project).
3. Daily workouts
4. Cycling regularly.
5. Enjoy summer with friends and girlfriend.
6. Practice driving and learn for theory test (ehhh)

Hey, I quit smoking. I don't know how, but I fucking did it. I knew that would be the hardest thing of all, so now once finals are over I'll get to the easier ones so I know it can do it :)

-Gain 10 Pounds
-Get more strict with my gym regime
-Gain more muscle

-Start learning Japanese again
-Spend a weekend somewhere in Europe
-Purchase less crap and things that I don't need
-Save more money

-Go out more and do more things during the day (only really go out at night)
-Catch up on some old shows
-Cook something from my recipe book

-Spend a little less time on the Internet to accomplish my goals
-Spend more time with my friends

Was about to post some more but I didn't think they were realistic targets. I genuinely believe I can accomplish these.

All I want to do in summer is move out of my house and finish the first draft of my FYP. Hopefully I will have an idea for it before summer actually starts...

- Draw/Paint more...much more. 1 painting and 30 sketchbook pages a week is the minimum
- Learn how to paint digitally

Work out daily, running at least 2-3 miles a day.
Get down to 140 pounds.
Finish at least 3 backlog RPGs(The Witcher, Mass Effect, and Last Remnant)
Start to finally learn Violin.
Take one summer course, and get an A in it.

Gonna keep it simple since work & school don't give me a ton of time to do much else.

Pass Chemistry with an A
Work at least 28 hours a week, 35 when not in school.

*Start working
*Learn Guitar
*Get back in shape
*Start studying Spanish & Arabic
*Prepare for my next semester
*Complete my must-read list

Edit:

*Learn Programming
*Improve on my Design skills

1) get some medical/dental shit squared away
2) gain weight + lifting
3) get into decent running shape
4) start learning guitar again
5) do well in my summer courses
6) get a job
7) redoing my wardrobe

Types of goals fitness, music, health, art, college ,work

specific goals -

1 Improve my long distance training, this will require me to hit the gym everyday or other day. I have to properly pace myself, this involves getting lots of rest.

2 learn guitar - I have to find a set amount of time 30 minutes or a bit more everyday & escape awhile. I would have to find the time before work and or school.

3 practice more drawing - The same as practice the guitar, I would need to do it before or right after the above. I would imagine laying down a quick sketch to the point that I recognize what my mind produces.

4 spend more evening with friends - Essentially ever Friday, I'll call up a buddy and hang out doing whatever.

5 do well with summer classes - Self explanatory. If I need to hide away at the library or somewhere to focus I sure will now.

6 level up more at work - One thing about my job is that everytime I learn something I can always use it to improve my performance. So anything that gets folks to respond better to me will be great.

7 begin on my short story - This will probably be the hardest. I'd have to find the time in between studies to get it started. I have the base in my head.

8 make my love life a little more concrete - I have no real problem I just need to work on my follow through and get results as it were.

9 start caveman diet - Subscribed to the thread here, just need to rig my fridge with the food and let it work its magic. I also have to experiment a bit to see which foods will work out better for my fitness plan.

10 Read more - Be it articles, books, leisure, school, whatever. I just want to know as every week ends, I've read through pages or literature and etc.

Daily goals - Yes
written out- yes

deadline 8-1-11

- put on a few pounds of muscle, generally become fitter
- make some serious progress towards not being forever alone, or at least get laid

yeah, if i achieve those two, i'm happy
not that i have any idea on how to achieve #2

I changed the second post with a real format instead of just quoting everyone.

Include that format in your post so I can add you easier.

Gain a bit more muscle.
Lose some more fat. I've lost nearly 20 pounds in the past three months without losing any strength. I'm 1% away from my body fat percentage goal.
Do a kickass job on my third internship for this company so that I can get a fulltime offer. I finish college at the end of November
Get laid more.

Girl Age threads are supposed to be good for that, if you actually follow the serious advice.

Just write your goals out on a piece of paper. Do it as if you were explaining to someone in a letter what your goals are. The idea is really to just get your thoughts on paper. Writing goals down makes you more likely to act on them.

Daily Goals? Yes: did half of my workout already, will do the other half after this post. Then will study for my CISSP.
Written Out? Not yet, but that's a goal I'll complete tonight.
Deadline: Dec 31, 2011

Here's my goals:
Lose 15 pounds. I'm currently at 185, wanna get down to 170
Gain muscle. Basically lower my body fat and replace it with muscle. I wanna be diesel!!!
Pass my CISSP. Hopefully I'll take it this month
Pass CCNP Security. Hopefully I can finish it by the end of the year. I have to pass 6 exams to get it :(
Get a new car. I really want either a CLS550, or a 650i. Depends on if I can get a better paying job though. Not having a nice car is fucking my game up HEAVY.
Get a new job. Hopefully by this month.
Break 6 figures/yr. Hopefully by this month. Shooting for 130-150k
Gain my 1st client. Started my company, now I just need to take it seriously. This is the one goal that's probably the most important, and also the scariest for me. Makes me very unsure of myself in certain things.

Alright GAF, off to get shit done!

Hey man, I think you're well on your way. It sounds like you're a hardworker that's ready to put in some work, so I think you'll be fine. If you're attracting clients, you've gotta have confidence. Don't sweat it, you've got this.

- Go on a date with a girl (currently dated 0 girls)
- Get up to 150 lbs (currently weigh 140)
- Pay off at least $1600 of college debt (currently payed $0)
- Make a map for Half-Life 2 (currently never made a map)

DEADLINE: August 1st

If I don't fulfill these I will close my account.

Thanks man I appreciate it. I've been taking little steps in getting things rolling, not it's time to just go for the gusto. I know once I get my first client though, most of my issues will disappear. The first step is always the hardest.

No need to take such drastic steps. Instead, why don't you follow the format in the second post? I think that would be a muuuuuuch better way of handling things. That way, the worst that can happen is you end up on the Wall of Shame.

Hey Milk, I wrote my goals out, can you update me broham!

Trying to drop from 212 lbs to 185 by move-in August 15th.

I went from 235 to 185 and honestly, it really wasn't that hard. The 1st 2 weeks will be the hardest because you'll have to cut your calories, but after that it becomes habit. Drink lots of water, do interval cardio everyday, and eat a lot of chicken breast and salad. In 30 days you should easily be in the 190s, maybe even 180s if you do it everyday.

Good luck.

I just got an Introduction to Computing Systems textbook in the mail the other day. It goes from binary arithmetic and logic gates all the way through basic C

I plan to read and learn the whole textbook this summer.

-Break 17 Minutes in the 5k for my last season of XC. I'm going to work my ass off to finally get there. I'm in the 17:30s right now.

-Try and get summer assignments done early, so that I can relax throughout the summer.

-Grow a pair and ask girls out to shitty dates.

-Gain more muscle. I'm pretty scrawny (I guess I look like a runner you could say), this is also part of the XC training basically.

Good luck. Self-study can be hard if you go it alone. Make sure to throw us some updates on how you're doing.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's the exact opposite of the kind of attitude you wanna have. What you're doing isn't as important as how you're doing it. Try to have fun no matter what you're doing and you should be fine.

Types of Goals: Fitness
Specific Goals? Yes
Updates: Probably random but hopefully at least weekly
Daily Goals? Yes, I'll be doing P90x, so every day's workout will be a goal.
Written Out? No
Deadline: 90 days of workouts starting May 13th.

I've been wanting to start p90x for a while, but haven't had the space (house is too cramped, room is too small) or the time to do it.
I knew I would start it when I got home from uni for the summer, and I'll pick up all the necessary items this week.
I'm at 150 right now and looking to tone and build muscle.
I'll probably be posting in the P90x thread as well, but I figure a little encouragement from both threads wouldn't hurt!

Glad to have you aboard! The more places you have to get that motivations from, the better!

I'm seeing a lot of unrealistic weight loss goals.

Losing 1 - 2 lbs is the max you should be aiming for. It varies person to person, but more than this becomes unhealthy and stressful on the body.

Setting realistic goals is just as important as having specific goals.
