Hopefully this thread can help you cut down on the drinking and get started on a healthier lifestyle.Sklorenz said:I drink too much. I Just quit smoking. I told myself if I could quit smoking, then I can do anything, and that I would spend this summer doing just what this thread is speaking of.
Booze: Once a week, that's all, and it never needs to be more than that.
I have a number of other things as well, but I'm tackling them one at a time. After I'm comfortable with the booze and it feels semi-habitual (two weeks or so for me), I'm going to tack on some regular form of exercise. After that, I'm not sure... probably going to get some house projects done and pick my pencil/paintbrush back up and exercise a healthy hobby.

One should be plenty, but maybe two if you're being productive enough when you're not on, as a reward of sorts.Sklorenz said:Also, GAF limit. I will consider this. One or two hours a day, perhaps?
Master Milk said:Nah, you'll get a lot more than that done.
Girl Age threads are supposed to be good for that, if you actually follow the serious advice.scar tissue said:- put on a few pounds of muscle, generally become fitter
- make some serious progress towards not being forever alone, or at least get laid
yeah, if i achieve those two, i'm happy
not that i have any idea on how to achieve #2
Just write your goals out on a piece of paper. Do it as if you were explaining to someone in a letter what your goals are. The idea is really to just get your thoughts on paper. Writing goals down makes you more likely to act on them.makingmusic476 said:makingmusic476

Hey man, I think you're well on your way. It sounds like you're a hardworker that's ready to put in some work, so I think you'll be fine. If you're attracting clients, you've gotta have confidence. Don't sweat it, you've got this.bdizzle said:Here's my goals:
Lose 15 pounds. I'm currently at 185, wanna get down to 170
Gain muscle. Basically lower my body fat and replace it with muscle. I wanna be diesel!!!
Pass my CISSP. Hopefully I'll take it this month
Pass CCNP Security. Hopefully I can finish it by the end of the year. I have to pass 6 exams to get it
Get a new car. I really want either a CLS550, or a 650i. Depends on if I can get a better paying job though. Not having a nice car is fucking my game up HEAVY.
Get a new job. Hopefully by this month.
Break 6 figures/yr. Hopefully by this month. Shooting for 130-150k
Gain my 1st client. Started my company, now I just need to take it seriously. This is the one goal that's probably the most important, and also the scariest for me. Makes me very unsure of myself in certain things.
Alright GAF, off to get shit done!

No need to take such drastic steps. Instead, why don't you follow the format in the second post? I think that would be a muuuuuuch better way of handling things. That way, the worst that can happen is you end up on the Wall of Shame.Sub_Level said:- Go on a date with a girl (currently dated 0 girls)

Good luck. Self-study can be hard if you go it alone. Make sure to throw us some updates on how you're doing.The_Technomancer said:I just got an Introduction to Computing Systems textbook in the mail the other day. It goes from binary arithmetic and logic gates all the way through basic C
I plan to read and learn the whole textbook this summer.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's the exact opposite of the kind of attitude you wanna have. What you're doing isn't as important as how you're doing it. Try to have fun no matter what you're doing and you should be fine.AvidNobody said:-Break 17 Minutes in the 5k for my last season of XC. I'm going to work my ass off to finally get there. I'm in the 17:30s right now.

-Grow a pair and ask girls out to shitty dates.
-Gain more muscle (I'm a scrawny little guyl this is also part of the XC training basically).

Types of Goals: Fitness
Specific Goals? Yes
Updates: Probably random but hopefully at least weekly
Daily Goals? Yes, I'll be doing P90x, so every day's workout will be a goal.
Written Out? No
Deadline: 90 days of workouts starting May 13th.
I've been wanting to start p90x for a while, but haven't had the space (house is too cramped, room is too small) or the time to do it.
I knew I would start it when I got home from uni for the summer, and I'll pick up all the necessary items this week.
I'm at 150 right now and looking to tone and build muscle.
I'll probably be posting in the P90x thread as well, but I figure a little encouragement from both threads wouldn't hurt!
