Hey, so quick question.

I got my Xbox One + SO bundle today and hooked it all up and went to play SO. It was probably around 30% and I started playing when it prompted me too, then I guess I beat the first mission and needed to wait for the game to finish installing. It finished downloading but it's still stuck at the "Please wait for the game to finish installing" page, help?1?

Do I need to delete it and reinstall ;(?

did you try quitting? hit menu (start) on the tile on the home page and hit quit

Delete the game and reinstall it when it tells you READY TO START...ignore it until the game ia 100% I was having this problem with D4 and when I called MS they said the READY TO START thing popping up at 25% or so doesn't work. I got it to work one time on KI but according to the guy on the phone that was the only time he had actually heard of the game not being corrupted because of the early start.

Ahhh okay thank you I'll do that. @ the other guy I tried turning it on and off but no dice ;\ already reinstalling but thanks anyway^^

Went from pretty much writing this game off to buying it day one. I'm about to get started. Any advice before I start? Like specifically any "well, I really wished I would have upgraded that thing sooner" advice?

This game, this fucking game... pure, distilled, essence of joyous mayhem is what this shit is. Best impulse buy ever.

I'm still coming to grips with the traversal mechanics, but I can already tell that when they eventually click, there will be no looking back. The fluidity and freedom of it all is just incredible.

900p it may be, but fuck it if this isn't an absolute feast for the eyes as well.

So uh the game just customization is amazing. The issue is that once you can buy the Wolf Mask everything attire becomes "what can I combine with the wolf mask" lol

Now I have in my attires

1. Business suit wolf with closed jacket
2. Business suit wolf with open jacket
3. Fancy vest wolf
4. Denim jacket wolf

And all of them are with the white version of it. I am using the last one to play because I feel like a street version of the Hotline Miami guy

Guys, would some do some real reviews here and not the one-two liners of this is soooo much fun!

The infamous thread was the same, and I bought it, and beat the crap out of that game in like 2 days. Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but much too easy for anyone familiar with a decent combat engine or competent at fighters, and after the initial wow of having a new system and playing something that looked better than PS3/X360 games, SS was barebones compared to other Infamous titles, you could tell it was just in time for launch. So, cool down the hype of having something new to play and give some genuine impressions for the game fellas. If I get an X1, it'll just be for the exclusives as I'm not subbing to two subscriptions and I only have an eye on Halo 5 and...hell I don't even what else besides that. And will delay my WiiU purchase for quite a while.

Is this experience worth $350? or should I just buy it and gift it to a friend and borrow his X1 for a few days to play it myself?

Anyone know how to check the progress on a weekly challenge? Brandon/Sunset TV mentioned that it was kill 100 blowers with the flaming compensator but I don't see any tracker in the menus.

Edit: Nevermind, it's an actual challenge listed in with the achievements. I thought it was just an in game thing.

This is the most fun I've had in a very long time. Crackdown 1 maybe? Dreamcast?

I just got through the water bottling plant and dog escort mission.

Holy shit, thisbgame man.

Really fun basic game loop, super great traversal that's jsrf tier.

I'm jumping in multi now, if that's as fun as the single has been I'm dropping my goty gauntlet here.

If the price of the xbone, even used, could seriously put a dent in your wallet and you're not interested in many of their exclusives, most of which include shooters either FPS or TPS, then I wouldn't go for it. I played Infamous Second Son and besides the pretty graphics, cool effects and interesting implementation of side missions it was a pretty empty game and most definitely a rent.

Sunset Overdrive is pretty damn good though. The art style is great, the colors are just a delight to the eyes, the customization is very deep clothing-wise, the combat with the weird weapons is very entertaining, but most importantly the traversal system is just amazing. Easily the highlight. The humor is entirely subjective. I've only truly giggled at a few scenes, but I haven't cringed. It's just a light hearted sailor mouthed apocalyptic game.

I don't know if it's worth buying the console just for this game and then not touching it for anything else in a while. It certainly validated the purchase of me buying the console, but depending on how much your friend would be willing to let you borrow his console you could probably beat it and play it a decent amount to the point you don't have to play it again.

Game is so much fun. I'm actually OK with the humor, too. There is some funny stuff in it, and even the jokes that don't work move by so fast you don't even notice them.

Question regarding customization: can you unlock/purchase new hair styles? I'm assuming yes, but I haven't had the chance yet.

Honestly its pretty ridiculous of you to come into an OT of a game that has just barely been out a day and tell people to not be excited and enthused in it. A fair number of us have written as bit on our impressions that are more than a couple sentences. Not to me to no one can advise you on whether this is a financially good move for you or not. Also there's dozens of sites with lengthy reviews.

awesome...appreciate the frank review...I think I'll go with just buying a copy for a friend then. As even if I get Halo, I wouldn't be able to go co-op and stuff like that with having Live active, and next year looks like all PS4 stuff, this year good WiiU stuff. Man, I just need more $. Hate how all these great games are spread across different platforms.

tks for allowing the hype to die down though. I'm seeing people post GOTY stuff in the same year as MK8, Smash Brothers, Bayonetta 2, and I'm getting exited to play it now. But I'll come back to the thread next week after new game hype is milder.

The game didn't really click with me until the bottled water mission. Something about the way you had to move around the level really opened my eyes to how to combo movement and attacks, and combat got a lot more interesting after that.

The game looks amazing. Love the colour and the funny little bits like the teddy bear explosions and the sound effects - KRACK from hitting the ground hard, cracked into the pavement, the big POP...things like that.

I have been playing a few hours and realized I don't have my pre-order items. Where do I pick up the two weapons? I see they are downloaded (digitally) and I've been to Two Hat Jack.

The Melee weapons are purely cosmetic; when you get access to the outfits lady you'll be able to apply them.

i thought i was going to get a $10 gift card like i did for picking up Evil Within, but the cashier couldnt find anything about it and i had to go home and look it up to realize that it was a $10 rewards coupon that would probably get emailed to me.

yes the volume is like 1/2 of what most other games on the system are. it's odd.

im ok with it though, just have to crank it up... and remember to turn it down if do anything else.

I love map traversal in this game.Decided to go from one end of the map to the other without touching the ground.Only grind,boucne and wall run.Unfortunatelly I failed ;P
But map is really well designed and it's a lot of fun doing it.
Sorry for quality,it's xbox video plus my lack of knowledge about compression.
