I was screwing around with the Switch Axe because a transforming weapon sounded amazing, but I thought to myself that I would rather use a sword as the default. Then Squishy told me to try the Charge Blade, and now I know that I've got to use it.

The fact that you can cancel your sword combo into the weapon morph attack (and vice versa) is a great way to quickly set up the more powerful Axe combo. Just doing something like X, X, A, X, Morph, A, A, A is intuitive, powerful, goes right into phial moves, and doesn't waste a phial on the charged Axe starter.

The fact that it transforms, has stances, and unleashes a "limiter" is just a cool concept to me. I wonder how powerful the Sword Stance is without the phials.

Worthless. If you hit too many times with just the sword and shield it'll overcharge and you'll get bounces on every strike. Switch Axes modes are both good enough to use exclusively, but the charge blade absolutely REQUIRES you to switch.

Sorry, I meant the Axe combos without the phials stocked.

By overcharge, you mean when the weapon dulls? Or when you don't store your phials?

Also, the game just feels really smooth to jump over shit.

And the way you have to jump off that cliff in the beginning of level with the Tetsucabra is super hype.
Edit: and how your hunter basically does a snake pose when they land

Not really lock on, but when you have seen your target and its in viewing range hit the button in the lower left corner and tap the L button to autoposition your camera to see it.

I watch both. I know Matt hates the cartoons but I find enjoyment out of them.

I believe there is a lock on.

On the bottom screen, there should a be symbol of the monster when you are in the same zone, if you touch it, you can activate a soft lock on, where when you hit the L button, it will point you in the direction of the monster.


Also, it turns out I got 2 extra codes for the demo if anyone wants one.
