They are super fun, just make sure you go with someone. I went stag my first time, and I was mostly just shopping, I wasn't really having a fun time. I played Melee and rekt some dudes and then had a subs vs dub debate.
Going with someone this year, so that will be pretty fun. I can also drive now, so I can go multiple days. I also have a job, so I can buy more.

Anyway, thinking it'll never come out is fine, because even though I hope it will, at this point I don't really care enough to believe either way, whatever happens will happen.
I've never bought into the whole "this is too japanese for the west" argument with anything, not even just because I like Japanese stuff, just because I've never been around anyone within my age group now or during childhood who was like "I don't understand this Japanese stuff" So I feel like that whole perspective is outdated in general and has been for a long time, since even with people who weren't anime fans, they would really get into something super japanese.
That and they were also dead tired from the com, which is understandable. I actually would've prefered it if they prerecorded it on thursday or something, but they have their plans and that would be a huge hassle.. they did what they could.
Make sure that he likes anime.
Or make sure he doesn't. That might be a better story.
