Protoman is really cool, but after playing through Team Colonel (and eventually Battle Network 6 which is my favorite Megaman game ever) Colonel just became the most awesome. Yes, and because a lot of the songs were from the PSP games.

f 2nd is way harder overall, but it has a better selection of songs, and linked star notes aren't that bad once you adjust your brain around them.

It helped reconfirm his hatred for Star Notes as far as I know. He probably thinks it's an okay game already despite it having a lot of repeat songs from older games. It's still a good game if you want to get into it.

Or something like that. It was neat when it was new, but I see it as a lazy action game now. Hopefully Arkham City switches up the formula to make the combat more engaging than just timed Xs and occasionally a Y and occasionally a special move to kill a shieldman.

Colonel is also a better character since he can shoot a projectile from his sword. In fact, all of the Colonel Version team mates are better than their Protoman version counterparts iirc.

You should really play the game then. I won't spoil anything. This talk about BN makes me really want to replay the games. Even 4 which I didn't hate (but was obviously the worst).

Yeah, it was linked star notes specifically. I think they're dumb too and I'd rather hit a button like L/R for another note added to the formula. Analog sticks is an okay substitute, but not good enough.

Also I don't give a shit about Love Live, but just play a real video game that isn't F2P. Project Diva is waiting and it's actually a good game. It doesn't make you feel gross either.

Remember how I mentioned that I never owned a PS1? I also never grew up with the X series as a kid. I played the original very recently, and after beating it found it was lacking that classic Megaman bite that I've come to expect from any Megaman game. I started X2, but tried to stream it live multiple times and never received any encouragement to keep playing it, so I stopped midway.

Sorry if I came off as an asshole. It just made little sense that a persons first game would be Sonic Heroes and their first console would be the Wii. It still seems like something someone younger than 18 would say to me. Maybe I'm just a dick and your living situation was different or something.

I think Just Cause 2 is a shitty comparison as the game is good, but the open world is bare bones. There's nothing going on in that world besides blowing shit up to fill meters. I would call it a collectathon of blowing shit up if you wanted me to. I also think for something like Elder Scrolls where the games are separated by 5 years a piece, it's fine to look as them as separate games and not have to worry about them topping their predecessor. I extend that thought process to Persona and other games of the ilk. I don't think because it doesn't reach the games you consider higher like Oblivion or Morrowind doesn't make it objectively bad. I'd rather say it's a bad Elder Scrolls game and an okay video game instead of just calling it "objectively" bad if I thought the other Elder Scrolls games did everything better. Also atrocious graphics, what. If you're talking texture quality as opposed to having an open world with all of it's shit going on then sure, maybe.

I think we both overreacted a bit, so I'm willing to say we're cool if you are. (My parents were super restrictive for the first chunk of my life, and only eased up more recently. I played the fucking PC port of Sonic Heroes.)

I think a lot of my dislike for Skyrim comes from my love of deep, complex RPGs. (I'm the kind of guy who prefers 3.5e D&D to 4 and 5, if that means anything to you.) It probably isn't fair to call it objectively bad, especially considering I did put a fair amount of time into it. Personally, I prefer Red Dead as an open world, and Oblivion as an RPG.

Some of the plots really are terrible, though.

That's so weird, considering I love every megaman series except the Original. From X to Battle network, from Zero to ZX. I played and completed most outside the original.

Yep, it's a shame. Speaking of the LL! vita game, a couple of days ago I was in a mall and I saw this game store that had a shit ton of imported games including the LL! vita game. It was pretty cool. Too bad they were closed.

Does the Web browser game have a story as well?
What are they fighting for?
What are the abyssals? (My first impression was a femalized octopus/barnacle)
There only seems to be one type of abyssal going with what they've shown already. They also seem like they are incapable of speech.
Is there any sort of reason for the fleet to be ship girls or are we supposed to just roll with it? (Either is fine to me)
Do the ship girls have actual personalities in the game or are they just card illustrations with nothing to it then that?
Are there more ship girls around the world?
Actually are there even normal people in this world?

I know so of these questions aren't meant to be answered but I'm still curious.

Pretty sure that Knightman is straight garbage compared to Magnetman.
