After watching the Sonic Adventure videos I can't believe anyone has any nostalgia over it. The game is just super jank.
I can play and enjoy2

One is bleh

It is however good for special chao eggs you cant get sa2 battle so you can. Transfer em over and breed em with shinny chao and make invisible/transparent ones

[....]There's no stopping this chain reaction now.

Bloodborne Part 28- I expect them to reach the boss next episode. Either reaching it or cutting right before it. The mental map of this area is pretty shitty in my brain, but I think they've done over 50% of it easily in this part. [....]
Aren't they, like, 20 feet from the boss door? I wonder if they'll see the fog door on the other side of the arena and then get smacked by the pigs on the way to the shortcut they don't know about.

It depends on if Woolies superior collision matrix 20/20 vision picks up on it.

I think i warmed up to how careful, slow and safe Woolie is playing. I think he is just taking his time since Pat took forever in the beginning.

Obligatory slow Woolie walking aside that was a good episode with some nice progress. Was awesome seeing their reaction to how vast the forbidden woods are the enemies within it. There was a particular enemy I was hoping they'd bump into. Should be at the boss next ep :D

Woolie has an awful sense of direction

Decent episode, I have no complaints except for Pat thinking that enemies are respawning yet again when it's just them not seeing the placement of the enemy in the first place.
The respawning will come much later.
They made much more progress in the woods then I had expected they would.

With the way Woolie is getting lost and the amount of little items hidden away in the area I could see them spending another 20 minutes without hitting the door. I wonder if they'll find that gravekeeper set.

Can you really blame him with the area? It was a little silly with him walking backwards for quite a bit, but the place is just really hard to manage map wise for most people.

Forgot he did that. He's done that a few times which is a little silly.

Edit- Watched the May episode. A lot more games in there than I thought they would include, but also I really doubt Liam will touch much at all of Neptunia, Disney Infinity, or Record Breaker. Matt will probably be the only one to touch Pip or Wolfenstein.

"I feel like Plague has a secret room in his basement, and it's various animals in different cages and enclosures, and he sits down in front of them on a tiny stool, and just starts writing."

I want to see an animation of that so bad

It's a bummer that all the Sonic videos are showing up at what seems to be their original upload date rather than the current day they're actually listed. Hope it doesn't effect the views too much.

Still not really sure why you're using this thread for your game playing updates.
excellent
Neat, didn't know you were a fan.
I'm surprised I've somehow avoided this comic strip for this long.

So... towards the end of the Sonic Adventures 3 episode... was there an editing fuck up or did a boss fight literally end by Amy walking a few steps and triggering a cutscene?

Also, I dug today's Bloodborne being the "Kill
aliens
" episode.

Their reactions to the
Ayys
were perfect.

I have a feeling this has to be the kind of game that you played when it came out and that's the only way to appreciate what it was. JP lip syncing, comical styling, fucking da bes. And it played great for everything else at the time!

It's genuinely a good game, with just the perfect level of JankTM

I didn't play it until DX on the Gamecube, because I never had a Dreamcast. I was one of the people who played the demo in KB Toys everytime I went to the mall.

I played the game back when it came out on Gamecube. This and SA2 I tried to justify to myself for many years after that it was still good, especially after the string of shitty 3D games after it.

I don't remember when exactly it was or what the catalyst was, but eventually I just gave the fuck up.

Oh man they talked about the Touhou news on the podcast. I'd just like to make a clarification though, TH14 (Double Dealing Character) will still be in Japanese, and apparently it won't work with fan translation patches that can be applied to the disc version. The big thing is that it's digitally available for everyone, without having to import scarce copies sold at specialist doujin shops with markups.

Still going to import them all.

I love that everyone's reaction to those things is basically the same: "Oh man, these things are in a Miyazaki game and they look goofy and harmless, they must have mad sick tech!"

Like, people keep saying the same thing all the way up to the Emissary. Spoiler:
they have no tech, they're honestly probably supposed to mostly be orphaned children mutated into those things, which is why they are completely pathetic to fight.

The most non threatening things are always the most threatening until they're not.
Also they're adults as well. Why else would there be some in Iosefka's Clinic? Hell, the more people you send there, the more of them there are.
Have you really? They have the whole thing animated and voiced here.
Somehow I have. Thank god for Suckles showing me the light.

I'm honestly surprised I don't ever see anything from Sonic Adventure cutscenes used as gifs often. It's pretty ripe for it.

SA2 dodged this problem by having the characters face the screen as little as possible while talking, and making their mouths significantly smaller when they did.

Oh, there are definitely adults as well, and in particular those in the forest are probably escapees from her setup. The main bulk of them are in the
Upper Cathedral Ward's "orphanage", though, and some of the items around that area talk about the Choir taking children to use in bridging the gap to the Great Ones.

I think the implication is supposed to be that
Iosefka
is kind of a "rogue" who's trying to replicate creating them independently, probably to make contact with the friendly cosmic horrors. Basically, trying to reverse-engineer making stellar shitkids.
