Is there any other choice? Regular socks? Is that even anything? Knee highs? Kill yourself. Thigh highs are the only choice.

The thing about the EoE ending is that it actually does end the angel plot, it was all foreshadowed from the get go, it's all just wrapped in a fuck load of crazy visuals and it kind comes out of nowhere if you don't have information going in, so it can easily seem like it answers nothing and is just nonsense.

so if i watch the show again i might just get it?
actual question, i would totally watch again if it will make it a not clusterduck of what the shit proportions, and if i do any pointers on what to particularly look for?

I just learned there's something called over knees which is slightly shorter thigh highs. Some people argue about pantyhose, but those people are crazy. jks

So, pretty much pay attention any time Gendo is talking, so much shit you couldn't get the first time. Also just random shit, like Rei at the beginning will start to make sense.

But, you can also just go online and read a shit ton of theories and connections if you don't want to have to watch the whole thing again. And, like, the actual truth about what the angels are is only revealed in a PS2 game.

If I remember correctly Adam and Lilith are both aliens, Lilith creates humanity and Adam creates angels, but planets are only supposed to get one of each and humans are the final product of angels, but Earth got both, so shit got all messed up.

I read all that a long while back, so it could be completely misremembered, but none of that is really necessary to the plot.
